Vintage Strawberry Shortcake Dolls At The Thrift Store

Hi Doll Friends!

Recently I went to the thrift store and I was delighted to take a trip down memory lane by a fabulous collection of dolls I saw there. When I was a kid in the 1980's, a very popular doll were Strawberry Shortcake Dolls! I had quite a few, as did my sister. They were so fabulous, each doll was scented as the 'fruit' that she represented and they had adorable little outfits with hats and came with a little 'pet' as well. Someone had a fantastic collection of them and donated each and every one of them to the thrift store I visited. Oh, I tell you, it was so tempting to snatch up at least a few but... I have to be careful not to start collecting 'other' sorts of dolls because I already have a storage problem with the doll type I already collect so I didn't buy even one. I just had to show them to you though!

See how cute they are? I had the one on the far right,.. I wish I could remember her name? Perhaps you know and can leave it in the comments.

I think the one on the right has the wrong dress on, I think she was a blueberry doll and she's wearing a strawberry dress. I was super impressed that so many of them had their tights and even their shoes!! Amazing!

They even had babies! And one of the dolls had a pet with her.

They had the little trikes that you could buy for your dolls back in the day too!

Then, in a different part of the same thrift store I saw the Strawberry Shortcake Doll House!
Oh how I coveted this when I was 10 years old!! It had a big bag of the furniture and accessories that you could get to go with it too! How fun!!

So it was super fun to see these amazing vintage toys! Someone had a great collection and took amazing care of it! Did you have Strawberry Shortcake Dolls when you were a kid? Do you still have some in your collection? I'd love to hear about them!

Better run!

The Nurse Doll From Amazon Part Two

 Hello Doll Friends!

In my last post, I showed you a doll I aquired recently with a bit of Christmas Cash... But didn't really get a chance to give you a good look at her. So... I am back now with a part two to that posting!

And here she is! Nurse Nicole Doll from Amazon.com
Isn't she gorgeous!

She comes in this cute little Nurse's uniform that has a name badge that says "Nurse Nicole", a white lab jacket, a red scrubs shirt, a black pair of scrub pants and a pair of black crocs-like shoes.

She really doesn't stand too well on her own honestly. As you can see her left leg is sort of held 'heel up' to get her to stand up.

She really has a gorgeous sculpt!!

I posed her with some lab equipment I had in my doll collection. I think she looks so cute and clever.

Here she is without the jacket on and minus her shoes.

Then here she is changed into some 'regular' clothes. Isn't she pretty!!!

**WARNING, nude doll photos below!!**

Wanted to show you her 'body type'. I won't lie, it's not my favorite. She's very 'light' weight wise and as I mentioned, she doesn't stand all too well without a lot of 'adjusting' to get her to stand.

She has 'non sleepy'  eyes and permanent earrings.

As you can see, there are, interestingly enough, zip ties holding her legs and arms on. I am 99% certain that she is going to get a body transplant in short order because she deserves a body that stands much more easily! So I'll come back to show her to you when that happens!

Hope that gives you an idea of what this sweet little doll is all about!

The Nurse Doll From Amazon Part One! Christmas Money Well Spent!

Hi Doll Friends,

Recently I was looking around Amazon, you know, shopping researching 18inch dolls. When, low and behold, what did I find? The Nurse Doll! What?! Who is this?
She is so pretty!
So... When I got a few dollars in the mail at Christmas what did I do?
Well I bought her of course.

So when she came I hurredly took photos of her in her box. Without my glasses on... Ugh!!
Thinking I had photos done, I threw away her box. Rats! So as you can see, the one above is blurry!

Here is the back of her box.

There are actually two, the one I bought who's name is Nicole and a blonde one named Linda
They have a beautiful face sculpt! I have to be honest, the sculpt reminded me a lot of the Positively Perfect Diva Dolls, specifically Brianna, one I never ended up getting before they kind of disappeared off the market! I mean you can find them on eBay or Amazon but they are incredibly expensive especially compared to the $20 I paid for my first one back when I got her!

Again, I took the photos of the box minus my glasses and... Blurry! Phooey! I'll be back in the next post to give you a closer look of this beautiful doll!

Till next time!

Want to teach your child even more about the benefits of nursing? Consider purchasing our book, The Adventures of Nurse Nicole: N is for Nurse (sold separately). This book is a clever story about a nurse with three children who are curious about nursing. This educational, yet engaging, book describes the art and science of nursing in a way that is both entertaining and easy for young children to understand. Also, maybe you are teaching your little one about hand hygiene then consider, The Adventures of Nurse Nicole: Wash Your Hands (sold separately), which gives vivid examples of where germs are located and the step by step process to get rid of germs. The DVD entitled, The Adventures of Nurse Nicole: Battle of the Germs, is also available (sold separately). The DVD reviews how nurses get rid of germs in the hospital and how a mom gets rid of germs at home. Nurse Linda is a main character in both books and the DVD.
