Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!
The Summer season is quickly drawing to a close and before it slipped away completely Frann Doll decided to take a little road trip to Missouri.
Here she is at one of the many road side Missouri Rest Areas. They really are a little bit like small parks and usually somewhat pretty. You can get out, stretch your legs, use the ladies room and even usually get a free map! What's not to love?
As you can see, Rest Stops are very popular with truckers who drive across country all the time... Any time you do just about anything, you should thank a trucker. If they didn't man the drivers seats of the trucks all over the country, we'd quickly see our grocery and all other stores shelves empty! So, I am glad they have a place to take a bit of a rest.
It was such a nice day that Frann Doll decided to take a bit of a walk around. After a few hours in the car you can get pretty stiff and sore and so walking can feel amazing!
It was such a pretty day for traveling!
Here she is in front of the bathrooms. Isn't it a pretty little building? Especially since it's 'just' a bathroom. It looks like a little estate house or something.
Frann had to take one of the free maps! Even if just as a souvineer.
Here she is by one of the signs.
They have this big map too so you can figure out the directions you need to go if you need to. I suppose maps aren't quite as widely used as they once were with smart phones... But old school maps will always be neat to look at.
There were several of these neat little picnic enclosures so you can relax and enjoy a bite to eat from your travel cooler if you feel like it. Frann wanted to get going up the road and so didn't take the opportunity. Maybe next time?
And it's time to hit the road again!
It was just a quick road trip but Frann Doll felt so refreshed by having seen different sights and places that she felt invigorated when she got home! Isn't it interesting how a small change of scenery can do that for you? Have you taken any road trips this summer? Where did you go?
Better run!
Till Next Time!

We lived in Missouri for 14 months about 10 years ago for my husband's job(and he's now a trucker, so you hit on two things in this blog post that are relevant to me! Missouri can be really beautiful, but the tornadoes and humidity were too much for us native North Westerners, so we moved back to Washington state. Love seeing Fran Doll taking all these adventures!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed! I love taking photos with Frann Doll! I love truckers too, I have loads in my family. We do get some crazy weather here in the midwest! It's thundering as I type this! LOL Thanks for all the sweet comments! Always makes my day when I get them. :)
