Finally Unpacked The China Cabinet Contents! So much fun!

Hi Doll Friends!

Slowly slowly but surely, I'm putting my doll room together. This week I decided it was way past time to unpack some of the 'fancy' doll teapots, teacups, stemware, unusual bottle collection and vases. I got a china cabinet for them way back in July and it's just been sitting empty. So, I pulled out the black tote that they'd just been sitting in for nearly three years and started unpacking. Let me tell you, it was a bit like Christmas! I mean I vaguely remembered what all I had but unwrapping each item, one by one, from their newspaper/paper towel wrappings was so much fun

See, here is all the items wrapped up. ^^

I had Erica Doll help me unpack. She's so pretty and will always be one of my favorite dolls.

Here she is arranging my 'unsual bottle collection'... Again one of my favorite doll items. So fun!

I took detail photos of all of the items below:

Since I linked to the post where I got the china cabinet and in that post I mentioned Ozzy, the puppy we got this summer, I figured I'd show you updated photos of him. He's gotten so big!

Better run!

American Girl Doll 2023 Catalog

Hi Doll Friends!

Since I got my Claudie Doll this year, I got back on the mailing list for American Girl Doll's Holiday Catalog. It just arrived in the mail this week. It was so much fun to flip through and see the new dolls. Once upon a time, when I was little, we somehow got a catalog in the mail for 'high end' dolls and I flipped through it so often that it nearly fell apart... When I was in my early 20's, when I thought I was too old for dolls *giggles*, I'd get the American Girl Doll Catalog just because I signed up for it. Even the Sears Roebuck catalog would come out every year and I'd spend hours looking at all the doll options in it. In recent years it seems print catalogs are becoming a thing of the past so... Suffice to say it was fun to get this one and look at all the beatiful dolls.

My favorites are probably the Shimmering Silver Holiday Doll because, well, she's gorgeous! I mean I don't think I can justify spending that much money on a doll. No shade on those people who save their pennies and buy her! I'm just more about buying 10 Our Generation Dolls or more doll clothes and accessories if I spend that. I also really love the Birthstone outfits. I love Isabel and Nicki Hoffman even though the 1990's being 'historical' makes me laugh. I graduated high school in 1991 and so I guess that makes me old but in denial about it. Hahaha.

Did you get the catalog? What were your favorite items?

How is it nearly November!! Dolls in stasis...

Hi Doll Friends,

Where does the time go?

I can hardly believe it's nearly November or that I haven't posted on blog since early September. I just keep having other things in my life keep me too busy to do doll related stuff. I jokingly think of my dolls as being in stasis, just waiting for me to have time to go in and give them 'life' again. So I am kind of posting this as a prayer and a promise to myself and to you my dear reader, that I will eventually get back to posting at least occasionally. These are two photos I snapped just this morning in the doll room... I still have so much more I want to get done in there.

Since I don't really have time to post much I want to shout out to a blog I follow mostly on Facebook about dolls... She's got such fun posts, even though she's had to start over from scratch recently... So since I don't have much posted, perhaps you can go give her a read because she puts so much into her posts! Here are the links to her blog and her YouTube where she does unboxings and stop motion videos. Yeah for doll bloggers!

Since I am mentioning YouTube channels, did you know I have one? I haven't posted a video in a long time but if you've never checked it out, it's kind of fun too. Here is link:

I hope this finds you having a wonderful Autumn!
Till I get back...
Much love to you!

Treasured Doll, An Irish Doll That Came To America, Find On eBay

Hi Doll Friends!

I've been meaning to get here to tell you about the doll I found recently on eBay... I always keep an eye on items from Queen's Treasures because they have such great doll items. So when I ran across a doll listed by them that I'd never seen before I was very curious... Curious enough to take them up on their 'make offer' button and offer them $40 instead of the listed $49.99. An, low and behold, they took me up on my offer!

So she arrived and she was so lovely... I wrote Queen's Treasures and asked them about her because I couldn't find her on their actual website... Jessica wrote me back to say:

"We do not make these dolls.  They were from a company in Ireland.  We were helping them to try to launch in the USA.  They really did not sell well."

But she sent me a link to their website and I found that they still sell dolls but that I'd gotten a really good deal on mine because they are $95 to $120 each on their website. I won't lie, I wouldn't likely spend quite that much on a doll from a doll company I've never heard of so it doesn't surprise me that they didn't sell all that well. They really are top notch quality though, on par with American Girl Dolls or Maplea or other premium dolls really. Don't have much more time to write so I'll just let the photos tell the story of this lovely doll. I was surprised that she came undressed and had a Queen's Treasures dress enclosed in the box. Lovely! Gotta run!
