American Girl Doll Travel Book Goodwill Score!

Hi Doll Friends!!
I was sorting through all my 'doll stuff' and came across this Doll Travel Book I'd gotten at Goodwill... A while ago... I honestly don't even recall getting it. Teehee. I guess that is a sign you might have too many just enough dolls, when you get cute stuff like this and don't even open it to tell your lovely Doll Friends about it?

It really is a nifty little set. I think most all of the stuff that came with it was included. I mean, it was punched out and the mini-mag was assembled but you can tell that the person who owned this set was meticulous about putting things together and keeping all of it organized. Awesomeness!!

The little American Girl Doll Bag was probably worth the purchase price of $3.99! I imagine it was exclusive to this set? In any case, adorable and I'm glad to have it in my collection!

Here is the first page of the book. I guess I could've photographed all the pages... Hmmm... But if I go back to do that now you will NEVER hear about this book so I probably won't. They are just suggestions and instructions on how to make the crafts that the patterns go with and such. Very cute and colorful book.

Here is the contents of the American Girl bag. All manner of doll sized currency and credit cards and ski passes and and and...

Here it is all sorted out. Isn't it swell!? I love how there are two types of currency since you'd have that reality if you were to travel out of the country. So neat! I love that the 'devices' have 'aged'. It feels like ten minutes ago, to me, when we were all on devices like these and my daughters doll will forever be frozen into being her 10-11ish year old self so it works out perfectly.

Here are some of the things that came in the kit. I love the wrist bands!!
I might very well take color copies of all of these for myself so that more than two of my dolls can have a wrist band for instance.

I love the passport!! So cool!

A mini AG Magazine and an AG Dazzling Desserts cook book!

The doll sized maps might be my favorite part of this set!!

We used maps all the time when I was a kid and these are so realistic!

So fun!

Here they are folded and some airline tickets I think.

Some more postcards,,,

They had all different ones.

All written out even!

Aren't they pretty?!

Then there were 'travel' posters like you'd see in a travel agents office...
Say... A travel agents office...
That would be a fun scene to create!

There were also a bunch of stickers... Obviously a few had been used but... For the price who can complain?

This is a pattern for a snowboard and a ski and a boogie board craft. You cut them out of that craft foam... I'll have to try that as well!

Here are the instructions that were used to make the mini magazine. Seems they put the same type in the AG magazine... I think.

Here is a photo of the contents of the little bag just as I opened it.

Out of time!

Doll Sewing Patterns From Goodwill And Getting Back To Sewing For Dolls

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends,

Golly, it's been a while... I know...
Reasons, reasons, reasons...
Not the least of which the state of things lately
for everyone, basically, in the entire world has really... What...?
Thrown me for a loop that's what, much like everyone else I imagine.
I decided at the outset of the whole thing that I was not going to talk about it much, if at all, here on my doll blog because I knew I, for one, got sick, very early on, of hearing about it everywhere.
Sick. Of. It.
So I am going to not talk about the event-that-shall-not-be-named here.
Maybe I'll mention it on my other blog at some point but...
Not here.
Hope you understand.
💗

I am so behind on blog posts I want to get done!
This one has been in drafts for a few weeks now at least.
I have been wanting to come and tell you that, if you like to sew for dolls and happen to be one that likes thrift stores, when yours open up you should always check their pattern section for doll clothes patterns. I have found all the ones you see here at one time or another at thrift stores and Goodwill's for less than a $1 each!!
Every single one of them was brand new, never been cut (other than the Daisy Kingdom one had the 'childs dress' cut out but I had zero plans to make that and so didn't care).
I'm not sure if you know how much patterns cost at the store but most of these are marked about $14. So, an amazing deal!!
I'm not sure I'll end up sewing from all of them but it's sure nice to have the option to if I decide to!

I have been doing a bit of sewing lately...
I really do enjoy sewing for dolls. When I was a girl I always imagined designing clothes but then I found out that there was copious amounts of math involved and was like 'Well, there goes that idea...." Same with interior design! What can I say? Math has never been my thing.
The photo (above) is my little ironing board where I'm cutting out some dresses. See the old school suitcase next to my knee (that's what the brightly colored patterned thing is... haha, it's one of my favorite skirts) That is how I store my fabric, in old school suitcases.
You can find them at thrift stores all the time because NO ONE uses this type of suitcase anymore. They are really heavy and bulky. For storing fabric, though, they are wonderful.

There are so many fun patterns when it comes to fabric nowadays!

Here are a few of the ones I have recently cut out to make into dresses... They'll be the reversable sort like I describe here
I still plan, at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later, to get some of them posted for sale. Money has been tight lately and so it would be nice to make a few dollars to reinvest in my doll hobby! Cos, you know, priorities!
So when I get them posted for sale, you'll be the first to hear about it!!

Well, I want to try and get one more blog post up today so I'm gonna say ta-ta for now!

Happy Belated Mother’s Day!

Hi Doll Friends!

I’ve been having technical difficulties with my laptop so wasn’t able to get here to say Happy Mother’s Day to all of my readers who are moms!! So,

Happy Belated Mother’s Day!!

I tend to vacillate between pretending my dolls are grown people and doppelgängers of my friends and pretending them as eternally little girls... For this post I opted on the more grown side of things. Obviously.
lol
But they could easily be older sisters to baby siblings too who are doing their mom a great favor and are  their younger siblings while Mom is out getting pampered, eh?

In any case I hope your Mother’s Day was fabulous and that you got some pampering of your own!

Eimmie Doll Comes Home To The Doll House!

Hi Doll Friends!

I know, I know... I don't even know where to start about how long it's been and why I've been gone... So I won't.

Sometime in the surreal time during the last few weeks... Months...?
I bought the new Eimmie Doll. I've been meaning to come show her to you! I knew I was going to cave and get her the moment I saw her on Amazon in January. I wanted to do a more elaborate post including the Eimmie Doll I got last time that I think they've re-designed. But I haven't gotten it done so I am going to do a two part post about her I guess...

Here she is! Isn't she adorable?!

Here is how she arrives at the house.

She comes with a coupon for the first box in their subscription service

There is an inner box inside the white shipping box.

She also comes with a cute carry bag!

There she is thru the window of the bag!!

She, like the last Eimmie Doll I bought, arrived with a set of PJ's in addition to the outfit she arrives in! I love that!! Every doll needs something to sleep in!

So cute!!

I love her freckles!

So far I love her! I'll be back as soon as I can with a more proper review. Life has been crazy but I am sure you can relate! I'm not even going to get into that right now.

But I wanted to say hi!
So, HI!

I hope you're having a peaceful and joyful day!
