New York Doll Collection Shorts & Tshirts Sets From Amazon!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

My goodness, where do the weekends go? Wasn't it just Friday, like, five minutes ago? I guess it is the sign of a good weekend when it feels like it flies by though, eh? Not to mench, the weather has finally decided to be warm consistently and the sun is out later now so... Even week days are better I think. Do you agree?

In my last post, I told you about some beautiful doll clothes I got from Jerrica Delaine's Etsy Shoppe... Well, when I ordered them, I thought:
'Wouldn't it be terrific to have a lot of solid color separates to match up with them? Then you'd have twinsy possibilities galore as you could match a print top with solid shorts and then match the corresponding skirt to solid color top... Hmmmm...' So off I went to trusty SmileAmazon (do you shop via Smile Amazon? It's a great way to give to your favorite charity by just shopping! Pretty neat... I digress) to see what I could find. Low and behold but what I did come across but an amazing deal on the very thing I was looking for?!

I found a Set of 10 solid color T-shirts for only $14.99?! What?!? No way. Eh? I looked at the reviews and they seemd to be in good order. One of my Lotus dolls, Debbie, was labeled as a 'New York Doll Collection' and I wondered if it was the same company? So I popped the set of ten shirts in my cart and looked at the other suggestions from Amazon...

And what do I find but Set of 10 Shorts from New York Doll Collection to match them! All 10 pairs for only $19.99! That's only $1.99 a pair! Awesomeness! But... Would they be good quality? I wondered...

When they showed up I was pretty blown away! Not only were they good quality, they were also packaged up in sets of two in little packages!?! What a great deal! They'd be awesome for party favors or gifts! Or..... For someone like me who has way too many just enough dolls needing to be dressed stylishly.

They really are top notch and adorable, especially considering the cost! The shirts have full velcro down the back and open fully so young doll lovers would have no trouble at all dressing their dolls in them. The shorts are a stretchy material and have real working pockets (unusual even in top of the line doll clothes brands) and a snap too! Nice feature!

Here we have Jenndeck (Our Generation) and Tanya (Maru & Friends) modeling some of the separates. Jenndeck has on one of the tshirts  in green and Tanya is wearing the 'denim' colored pair of the shorts.

A few reviews on Amazon mentioned the shorts were not big enough for American Girl Dolls... But I didn't have any trouble at all getting the shorts on Prism. It mentions somewhere (in the link address I think) that they are 'newly redesigned' and so perhaps The New York Doll Collection company heard the complaints and went back to the drawing board? Who knows but they really are very nice.

Prism is joined by Charlsea to show you how the clothes fit on American Girl Dolls and Maplelea dolls...

Then we have Eunju (Our Generation) in the bright blue top, Star (Starpath Doll) in the yellow shorts and Judy (custom hybrid with OG body) in a pair of purple shorts. Don't they all look so chic?

They also have a set of 10 striped t-shirts and a set of 10 pairs of long pants that I have on my wish list... I'm sure they'll make their way to the Doll House soon enough. I also like the Set of 6 tank tops and a few other items from their shop so... My wish list is now bursting even more! Hahaha! But I have dolls to dress afterall! Right?

Here is Vicky (Tolly Tot) wearing some of the shorts and Yet-Unmamed-Doll (Madame Alexander) wearing a whole outfit of the purple top and white shorts.

Saila thought the sea green colored top looked great with her favorite leggings and boots! So if you need some cute separates for your Dollies, you can't go wrong with these from New York Doll Collection!

Adorable Outfits From Etsy Seller Jerrica Delaine

Doll Friends!

I am having one of those moments where I am excited to tell you about something but also reticent to tell you because I purchased the very last of the very thing I want to tell you about. Teehee. Locked between my love of sharing dolly information and hoarding dolly items. Just kidding. Sort of. *giggles*

Case in point? These super adorable doll clothes I got from Jerrica Delaine on Etsy. I was shopping researching on Etsy a few weeks ago and happened to run across these 'lots' of doll outfits for a price that made me think it had to be a typo. There were two lots; one with ten outfits and one with nine outfits. All the outfits were in the same style essentially, a peasant top and skirt or shorts or a peasant dress (or muumuu depending on where you're from and what you call them). However they were all in different, fun, fashion forward material and looked to be very well made. So I popped both 'lots' into my cart and rushed to checkout.

When they arrived I felt like I'd won the Doll Fashion Wardrobe Lottery or something. Seriously, a little girl could quite feasibly get only one of these lots of clothes for her Dolly and have plenty of mix and match to make her quite happy. There were a couple of duplicates in each lot too and so if she happened to have two dolls she'd have a 'twinsy' outfit. How fun!

Here is how they arrived in the mail... Apparently Jerrica changed the focus of her Etsy Shoppe and craft time to quilts and so she decided to sell off the last of her doll clothes inventory in lots. How lucky for me! I got them for less than $5.00 an outfit!! Such a steal. However, I bet if you're interested in some doll clothes like these and contact her to let her know, she might 'come out of retirement' and do special orders. I also told her I'd love to see Doll Sized Quilts and she said she'd even been considering making some and might just have to do that. So keep an eye on her shoppe!

I tried to pick favorites but they are all so cute... You have actually seen these clothes already if you read this blog regularly. I've had the outfits in many of my recent posts and actually used the Olaf Frozen themed outfit for my most recent drawing give away

Here are the first two of my Dollies to try on the outfits; Lorilai and Debbie.

Aren't they cute with them on? I love these tops! I'd totally wear them if they were in my size even.

Then the little print skirts are adorable as well and will mix and match with so many other items in my doll wardrobe. Speaking of which, I am so outgrowing my doll wardrobe... Again... I will admit it, I love doll clothes and love for my dollies (of which there are many as evidenced in my recent 'My Collection So Far' posts) to dress stylishly during every season and that takes quite a lot of clothes. Right?

Not even kidding. I'd totally wear that green and blue outfit today if it were in my size. So cute!

As I said, you've likely already seen quite a few of these outfits in my recent posts. Every doll in these photos from the Morning At The Doll House video had the girls wearing the new outfits.

Lilly, Lorilai, Jax and Star thought they looked like a 'grouping' because they all had green in their outfits. I think some mixing and matching could be had with just these. The green top could go with the yellow printed skirt the lighter green printed top would be fun with the blue printed skirt and the gray skirt would be fun with the green top Jax has in her pantsuit outfit and and and and....

Nanea was stoked to get a patriotic muumuu! She and Sueretta are adorable in them! Prism is wearing my favorite of all of the outfits. I love the material!!

Here is Vicky wearing one at the Sweet Shoppe... Doesn't it just make her eyes pop?!
(Oh look, I'm a poet and didn't know-it. Haha.)

And Vonda and Leanne wore thier outfits to Calla's Diner the day the outfits arrived in mail...

And Myfanwy wearing the oh-so-awesome Batman dress. That dress alone would've made my day because it's so perfect for Myfanwy Doll. Notice Kevin Doll is wearing a Batman shirt... Perfect! I love my dollies to actually reflect little details about the real people they are doppelganger dolls of...

Juliet and Sharon even did their Tupperware Party presentation in one of the twinsy outfits. How fun!! I love these clothes!! Thanks Jerrica!

Have to run! Have a great day!

New Custom Linda Mason Bumbleberry Doll Hybrid At The Doll House!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

I've made another custom hybrid doll... I couldn't help it, all the details of this doll just fell into place.

Here she is after I was all done. Isn't she beautiful?

Here is the original doll I took the head from.

She was really dirty and had been 'loved' and played with a lot. Her wig was a total mess...

When I first found her I thought she was a porcelain doll and they have never been my thing. But I always check to be sure... And when I checked this little gal, I discovered she was vinyl. Not only that but she was marked on back of neck by a signiture reading: 'Linda Mason 2008'. What? Where did this doll come from...? So I plunked down the $2.00 and took her home to do more research.

Here is what her body looks like, constructed a lot like most porcelain dolls with an armature inside.

She'd been played with so much that her armature had shifted and you could feel it right against the cloth on her back. Kind of creepy feeling honestly...

She also had a rip on the 'elbow' of one arm.

I could tell that her hands and feet were also done by Linda Mason because they were adorable. They reminded me a lot of the hands and feet of my Starpath Doll. Starpath dolls were also sculpted by Linda Mason and so no surprise.

So it felt like kind of a shame to know I planned to give her a body transplant and would be loosing the cute hands and feet. But her body type was no good in clothes and also I think her original body looked too big for her head...?

When I researched I could not really find one thing about this doll....? I did find one photo of a 'new'  doll like her that made me realize she was wearing some parts of her 'meet' outfit when I found mine.

But like I say, I couldn't find any information on her really...?

The closest I came was these 'Fairy Tale Lessons' dolls but it says they are 23 inches, not 18 inches... So not the same. How curious!

Perhaps you, dear reader, are familiar with who she was and can let me know in comments.

The first thing I did when I got her home was to clean up her face and re-wig her. I had this little pixie cut wig on hand and when I put it on her I knew it was the one that would stay on. The dark brown hair really made her green eyes pop!

But where to get a body for transplant? Hmmmm....

And wouldn't you know it? Amazon practically read my mind and had a sale on Bumbleberry Cassidy for less than $12.00! They just kept marking them down!

I sometimes pop things I am thinking of getting in my 'cart' at Amazon and they kept giving me messages like this. I couldn't help myself. It did sort of sadden me to think of snatching the body of a brand new doll but.... What can you do?

So it took the customary two days for the doll to get here...

Here is the new one next to the one I got last week. I decided I'd compare and see which I thought had the better eye placement... I even asked my husbands opinion and we both agreed that the newer doll (on left) was the one with the most evenly placed eyes. So... the one from last week was the one I'd be taking the body from.

See how her right eye is placed a bit lower than the left? Tough break kid. Hahaha.

Pre surgery...

And afterwards...

I love love love how she came out. An original hybrid doll for less than $15. What's not to love about that?

I am still considering names... I'll come back and update when I decide.

Here she is next to Star. They certainly look like siblings or at least cousins!
