Doppelganger Doll of Grace Vanderwaal Moves In To Doll House!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

As you know if you've read this little blog for long at all, I love to make Doppelganger dolls ofl loved ones and people I love or admire. We have  Doppelganger Doll Heather and Josh who are my versions of myself and my husband. I actually have a post about My Doll Family and when I got Lilly and Vito was one of my very first custom dolls.

I've gone on to make dolls for friends like

and family like:

Real life people I admire like:

And even fictional characters:

You get the idea. Heehee. I am probably forgetting one or two that I've written about and I haven't really officially 'told the story' of a lot of my dolls that are named after people either. Do you name your dolls after people in your life?

So anyway my latest doppelganger is fashioned after a singer and songwriter that my daughter and I both admire quite a lot. Her name is Grace Vanderwaal and she's one of the best singers to ever play a ukelele!

Here she is ready to play us a great tune like Beautiful Thing or Clay.

I think she is pretty cute.

What do you think?

Here is the 'real' Grace. I love that she allows herself to stay a little girl even though she's famous. She wears 'girl' clothes and keeps her own sweet look... Good for you Grace!

Well I better run!

Hope this finds you having a wonderful day!
Till Next Time!

Another Doll Make-Over; Part One

Hi Doll Friends!!

I just found this posting in my drafts collecting cobwebs and forgotten about... Ooops. I hate it when I do that. I apparently started telling you the story of the makeover and forgot to come back and finish the story! So we will call this a Part One and I'll take some photos of the "After" dolly and come back with a Part Two soon.

I'd found this cute Engel Puppen Doll at Goodwill last year and loved her sweet little face sculpt...

As you may be beginning to see, I really don't like the 'soft body, 'shoulderless' body type for dolls... So she had just kind of sat on a shelf since I'd found her because I don't really use dolls with that body type for models for blog posts becasue they simply can't stand or sit correctly. So when I found this Our Generation Doll with hair that was a tangle fest and with a face sculpt and eye/hair color combination I have several of already, I knew it was time to give the Engel Puppen doll a new body and a new lease on life.

Ironically enough, I also never really cared for her wig (so 1980s!) either... So after her body transplant, I kept looking at her, trying to puzzle out the doll she was meant to be. Then it struck me! She would make a really handsome and adorable boy! When I first got her, I'd just become friends with my friend Patti like six months before and I'd decided she needed a Doppelganger Doll in the Doll House. So when she arrived, given she had brown hair and brown eyes like Patti, my first inclination was to assign her as Doppelganger Patti. Since then though, I found a Doppelganger Patti that looks much more like her. So, having given up that idea, changing her into a boy doll made perfect sense! So, I removed her wig and glued on a boy one... I'll have to come back in Part Two for the Great Reveal!

Till Next Time!

My Our Generation Battat Custom Dolls Collection... So Far...

Hi Doll Friends!

This post has been sitting in my To-Do folder forever... Mostly because I wanted to do one really long post about all my Our Generation Dolls to update this post. However, even though these photos were taken back in February I 'paused' and never got back to the project again yet. So... I'm going to post the collection in stages rather than never getting it posted at all.

I've done many many custom dolls since I started collecting 18 inch dolls but my Our Generation Doll customs are some of my favorites. So without further ado (adieu?), here they are:

Aubrianna is likely the custom I've gotten the most compliments of all my customs ever made. I just love her to bits, she is so pretty and photogenic

Here we have a custom I've made from one of the rarest of the Our Generation face sculpts. I've only ever found two of them and I love them both. This is the second wig she's had, the first one was pretty but I love this one so much more.

Here we have Hector... I can't seem to find a write up about him.

This is my Vito Doll... He's one of my most treasured dolls because he is my son's doppelganger doll. He no longer has blonde curls like this but he did when he was little bitty and that's why his doll has them. Here is a post of him with horses that is has some of my favorite photos of him

Here we have Bernie... Couldn't find a write up about her customization either but she's my Grandma C's doppelganger doll... She's got cute photos in this post of her tidying up the Doll House

Here is Annie

Sad to say I can't recall when I customized this one and couldn't find a post about her but she's adorable.

Here is Hematite

Finally we have Samorn. I love how she looks with her blonde wig.

So that's all of them... So far.
Wish I had more time! Sadly I gotta go!

A Doppelganger Doll For Milo Yiannopoulos!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

As you may know, I love making doppelganger dolls for significant people in my life. I make them of friends, family and people I admire in the public arena... I'll have to do a posting of all my dopplegangers with photos of who they are made to emulate at some point maybe. Well, one of my favorite journalists and media pundits is Milo Yiannopoulos. I would go into my reasoning for admiring him so much but I don't want to get too political here in my little doll blog. You can check him out and see what he's all about... You'll love him too I am sure of it because he is fabulous! He is the second media pundit doll I've made. The other I've already posted about is Lauren Southern who is also an amazing young woman making her voice known in the world. She and Milo aren't even from the United States but they are fighting harder for the USA than many who live here... So, I love and pray for them both.

Here he is! Milo always wears pearls on his wrist and he has a fabulous diamond tennis bracelet too... I need to try and find better of both. He also wears two or three crosses at any given time and I plan to make him a few of those necklaces too at some point... But I am happy with him for now. Milo was made by using a Creatology Zoey Doll rewigged with a blonde boy wig.

This is the real Milo. See? Fabulous.

I think I did pretty good... I'll keep adding touches as I find them.

By way, I bought his jacket and jeans as part of an Espari set... I literally bought the set just for those two items (well, and the little t-shirt with doggie on it is pretty awesome too!). The clothes fit really well despite the fact that Creatology dolls are 17inches tall and Espari dolls are 18inches. They look perfect on Milo!

Here is the set I used.

Better run...
Till next time!

Tolly Girl New-In-Box Outfit Ensemnbles Find On eBay!

Doll Friends!!

Oh. My. Goodness.

I am so excited to tell you about the most amazing thing I found on eBay recently! As you may know if you've read this blog a while, I really love Tolly Tot 18inch dolls. Rose was my first 'fit' doll when I made some of my very first upcycled doll clothes items!! Since I've gone on to become a collector of dolls, I've also become quite a collector of Doll Clothes. Teehee. What can I say? I love 'style' and especially since probably half of my dolls are doppelganger dolls of people I know and love or that I admire as a person. (I've honestly never counted how many doppelganger dolls I have or done'
percentages... I should, that would be fun... I digress...) So, more and more I want to dress them in clothing that reflects the 'real' person's way of dressing... So I need quite a wardrobe at my disposal to accomplish that given that I have way too many just enough cherised dolls taking over living in my house. Right?

As is my habit, I tend to shop  do serious doll research on eBay to see what is available... I have several saved searches and one of them is, naturally, Tolly Tot's. So, low and behold when I logged on the other day I had a notice that new Tolly items had been posted. When I saw one of the newest postings was for a Lot of New In Box Tolly Girl doll clothes ensembles with a Buy It Now option, I almost fell off my chair. Now, I don't normally leap at such things because such a find is usually crazy expensive. For some reason though, this lot made the outfits only about $8.00 each!! SUCH A STEAL!! So I plunked down some of my Doll Mad Money and started watching the mail...! I felt like a kid waiting for Christmas!

They arrived Friday and did NOT disappoint. I've found a new Tolly Tot Doll before and have quite a few of their clothes I've gleaned second hand and so I know they are top-notch in quality and just adorable in style. I honestly think they are on par with the current quality of American Girl Doll clothes. Really. They are that nice!! I am running low on time, as ever, and so mostly this will have to be a photo review or show and tell. Suffice to say these will be some of my very favorite doll clothes in all of the Doll House Wardrobe. And that is saying something! Teehee.

Here is the first of them in the box. Isn't it adorable?

I love love love love love all of them. Especially the shoes! I'll come back later after church and tell you about more of the details... I hope... Sometimes I forget to make it back when I saw that because I am on to the next thing!! So, in case I forget, and you have questions, please ask. I can't say enough about how cool they are though! Even all the little pockets are real fuctioning pockets and so many snaps and details! Awesomeness all around...!

Have a great day!
