Tolly Tots Doll At Thrift Store, Wish Me Luck, I'm Going Back For Her!

Hi Doll Friends!

Yesterday evening I saw this Tolly Tots Doll at the Thrift Store.
I decided to leave her there.
What. Was. I. Thinking.
I am having one of my thrift store regret's moments.
Rats
I do so love Tolly Tot's! My very first 18inch Doll was a Tolly Tot named Rose that my daughter got at a garage sale and then gifted to me when I started upcycle sewing for 18inch dolls.
I do so love Tolly Tot Dolls.
Just a quick post here...
Cos I might go back to the thrift store and get her...
Wish me luck!

PS There are two reasons I'd decided against her... She, sadly, was attacked by a dog at some point...
Aaaand... Someone wrote on the back of her neck...
But...
That's not HER fault! Right?

Thrift Finds And Left Behinds! American Girl Doll Julie and Styling Caddy & Vintage Doll Sized Books!

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends!

Just here to report the latest Thrift Store finds and left beinds lately...
To start, the finds...

I got this American Doll Julie for only $1.99! I mean, clearly, she needs a spa day makeover! Since her wig is so far gone, I plan to give her a new wig which will likely give her a whole new look!!

She didn't have any clothes on when I found her, I slipped her into this little yellow dress for the photos. As you can see her neck strings have been cut. I think a lot of people do that not knowing they were intentionally left long so the dolls head can be removed to tighten her linbs. I'll probably need to do that during her makeover because the her limbs could afford to be tightened.

She actually wasn't marked when I found her at the Thrift... I think her price tags were attached here but someone ripped it off. So I just took her to the front and asked how much she was. Given she was so dirty and pathetic looking the clerk said $1.99? Of course I said "Sure, that'll work!"

As you can see, she is really dirty! Poor doll!

Then I also found this fabulous American Girl Doll Hair Salon Caddy! It didn't have anything in it but it's still a great find and will look fantastic when I do Hair Salon photo shoots in the future.

I also got these fantastic vintage doll sized books. The covers of the 'Tales of Peter Rabbit' and 'The Velveteen Rabbit' were a bit rough but I think it just makes them look like 'antique' books.

They actually aren't antiques, just vintage. The Velveteen Rabbit was printed in 1989 and The Tales of Peter Rabbit was printed in 1991.

The Tale of Peter Rabbit even has color illustrations!
The third small book was a modern book called Love Letters. It's the Love Letters of many famous writers of the past like Anais Nin, Franz Kafka and Jack London.

Sorry for the doll nudity! But I found this My Life As Doll and she came this way. Now normally I wouldn't buy a My Life As Doll in such bad shape... However, this doll had the new sculpt from My Life As Doll that they, for some reason, haven't really featured on any but their deluxe dolls like the Scientist and the Blogger and Donut Shop Owner. So... I couldn't help myself since she was only $1.99.

She needs a lot of work though, poor thing. She has ink pen stains on her upper chest.

When you lay her down and her eyes close, you can see her eyelids even need cleaning up.
So, yeah, she needs a day at the spa!

I found it a bit ironic that she was wearing this little hand made bracelet saying "LOVE".
So someone cared for her once at least a little bit.

Now we come to the left behinds!! I put both of these beauties in my cart for a bit when I was at the thrift... Their bodies were junk but the face sculpt was so cute!!

For some reason I can't now recall, I talked myself out of both of them?! Probably because I have way too many dolls and I need to thin them out, not keep adding to them! Won't say I'm not regretting being so 'logical' at the store.

So pretty!

They were marked 2010 New Adventures LLC on a tag on their sides.

I also found this little bag with a pair of boots and a pair of Madame Alexander shoes with a small handbag as well. Even though it was only $1.99, I left them because, again, I have so so so many doll items already.

Aaaaand even though she was still in her box and I don't have her in my collection and the little outfit would've probably have been what she was marked? I didn't buy her. Was another day that I was feeling like I should be clearing dolls out not collecting more unless they are higher end dolls or more rare dolls for a great price.

And last but not least? This one came from eBay and not from the Thrift.
However, I recently moved and had to pick and choose the most important bits of my doll collection to bring with me and space was the issue. So, one of the things I didn't keep was my My Life As Doll Dance Studio. Aaaand, I've regretted that decision since then. It's such a great item to use to photograph doll clothes when they are being modeled like the outfits I sew for my dolls in this post.

However, it's not something you can buy at Walmart anymore because they discontinued it. So... I've had it on my watch list on eBay. Aaaaand finally one was listed that I got for a pretty good price especially considering it's discontinued. I paid $36.00 plus shipping. I mean, sure, I was kicking myself for having gotten rid of the orignal one but I am glad of eBay so you have chance to replace things if you want to.

Well, that's it for now...

Hope you're having a great day!

Journey Girls Special Edition Doll At Amazon And She's On Sale!

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends!

So, recently I realized it'd been a while since I looked at the Journey Girls on Amazon. I am so glad that this line of dolls were continued by Amazon after Toys-R-Us closed down because they really are beautiful and well made dolls. Anyway, I hadn't really been paying attention to the doll line since I bought Ilee. So when I pulled up the search of Journey Girl on Amazon? Who did I see?

They don't really have a name for her... She's simply listed as a Special Edition Doll. I think she's got the same face sculpt as Callie and she is stunning! She is actually on sale right now for $44.27, her normal price is $49.99. I am telling myself "I don't need another doll! I don't need another doll!!" But she is very tempting.
She is similar to the Holiday Dolls from Journey Girls that they've released at Toys-R-Us in the past.
This is how they describe her at Amazon:

Our Journey Girls Special Edition Doll is stunning in a deep red satin gown featuring a modern hemline that shows off a gold brocade underskirt. She wears matching ankle strap sandals with knot closures and a soft blond fur stole. Her accessories include gold rhinestone jewelry, a hair accessory, and an elegant clutch with red tassel. Each Journey Girl has her own individual and unique style while sharing similar interests with her friends. Journey Girls all love to travel and explore, seeking out new friends and super exciting adventures. While each girl is different, one thing is for sure – Journey Girls are all about sharing. Whether it’s sharing something from their closet or something from their heart, Journey Girls are there to share adventures with their friends.

They have a Journey Girl Store, they even have a little video when you go there.

They still have the same basic line of Journey Girls that have been out quite some time.

Several of the Journey Girl items are on sale right now. The clothes set above is the same one I got on clearance at Shopko in 2019

I was interested to find that they also have a few other clothes sets for $14.99 each.

A lot of the playsets are on sale, they are all the same ones that used to be available for sale at Toys-R-Us so it was nice to see that they've brought them back.

I actually have the kitchen set and think it's pretty great.

So I'm glad that I went and checked so I can let ya'll know that they have a lot of it on sale right now... I just have to keep reminding myself that I don't need another Journey Girl Doll irregardless of how pretty she is.
Right? LOL

Have a great day Doll Friends!

My Life As Doll Autism Advocate Doll

Hi Doll Friends!

I've really come to love the My Life As Doll line from Walmart. They really are great dolls and they consistently seem to not only produce great dolls at wonderful prices, they also are very good at 'inclusion'. Case in point? They just released an Austism Advocate Doll. In the past they've released a doll with a prosthetic leg and currently also have a Cancer Survivor Doll that's on clearance for $15.00! (I just found out about the sale... Uh-oh... "I don't need to buy the doll, I don't need to buy the doll! Just cos she's on clearance does not mean I need to buy another doll!")

This doll is so cute! I don't think I'll buy one because I have so many dolls but I had to come tell ya'll about them just cause I am so delighted at the idea. I have lots of friends with kids who have autism and for a child with autism to have a doll that has the same struggles as they do, well that's just swell.

I stole the photos off the Walmart website. They sell for $29.97.
So if you have a kid you love who has autism, this would make a great gift!

I better run!
