City Pals 14 inch Dolls By Cititoy At Sam's Club; A Little Sister To My Life As Dolls!

Doll Friends!

American Girl Doll Brand releasing Wellie Wishers a couple of years ago opened up a whole new market in relation to the 18inch dolls. I guess the world was just 'ready' for the 18inch dolls to have 'little sisters' finally? Because the Wellie's were not the first 14inch dolls on the market, Hearts For Hearts dolls, for instance, came out quite a few years ago, retired and have since come back out. Melissa and Doug brand also had a 14 inch doll before the Wellies came out too I think... So, they were out there but for whatever reason it took the Wellie Wishers to catch the imaginations of the people who'd before only collected 18inch sized dolls. So, naturally other brands have come out with their versions of 14inch dolls and I love them all for different reasons. There are the Style Girls that I've found at both Big Lots and Tuesday Morning. Then there are the Glitter Girls, by Battat, who've now had a second run with brand new face sculpts. So I guess I should've figured that it was only a matter of time till Cititoy, the makers of My Life As Doll's, would get in on the 14inch doll game. I saw a post about the City Pal's on a Facebook Doll Group of course... I won't lie, I wasn't really interested in them much but I figured it was my duty as a Doll Blogger to go check them out. Apparently the photos I saw didn't do them justice though! Because when I saw them in person.....

I thought they were so cute!!! I forced myself to pick only one... But I couldn't choose! So I finally just did an eenie-meenie-miney-mo to choose between my top favorite three. But they are ALL so cute it's hard not to want one of each of them!

Here was one of my top three... I love her and her outfit and her dog!!

This little gal was cute too...

I loved this one's freckles!!

This one reminded me of my Katniss Heart For Hearts doll.

This was one of my top three... I love her poodle and her freckles!

And the last of my top three... I am sorry for the horrible box glare... I couldn't seem to find an angle where it wasn't bad!

So it was almost my duty as a Doll Blogger to purchase one so I could unbox her for a proper photo! Teehee. Right?

Here they all are from a photo on the back of the box. I think it's great how they have different cities that they come from... Sorry I cut off the name/city of the gal in the green striped tshirt. I'll have to take a better one later...
Update 12/26/18: The girl in green stripes is called New York Neena.

So who won the eenie-meenie-miney-mo?
Sophie from San Francisco!

I adore her little rain slicker which of course she needs because she's from a rainy city!

Here is her little dog.

Sad to say, when I unboxed her, I noticed she had this weird stain/stuff on her face... It's kind of see through but can you see how it runs from her lips down her face into her ear?? Like she was drinking water and it dribbled? I wiped it off with a damp cloth but it didn't come off... So then I was stuck wondering "Do I take her back and consign her, in all likelyhood, to the rubbish bin?" I decided to sleep on it.

I went ahead and took some photos of her since I had her out of the box already anyway...

She really is so cute even with the weird stain...

I like her sweet face sculpt and, much like the My Life As Doll dolls, her hair is plugged but plentiful and her outfit is cute and pretty well made. Given she was only $18.99 and she comes with a pet, she's fabulous!

Here is the mark on the back of her neck...

I posed her in front of the mirror I have from My Life As and it's so funny how the reflection is just a bit warped and it makes her look a bit older. Or I thought so...

But then you move the camera angle and it's normal. Plastic mirrors are just like that I guess...

Here is what her top under her rain slicker looks like... Pretty cute and would match a lot of different skirts or pants.

So sweet!

Ultimately, I decided to take her back and exchange her... I've kept 'damaged' dolls in the past but... What can I say? I wanted her to be perfect since she's brand new. Is that wrong? I'll just hope the other one gets donated to some child somewhere who won't mind her little face stain.

So here is the one I exchanged her for. Of course I looked closely to make sure she was fine.

I decided to take her to one of my favorite parks since I was in town anyway... Planning this before I left the house, I brought along a my Wellie Wisher Suzi...

Here they are together.

Aaaaaaaaand I was weak!! I couldn't help myself!! She jumped into my cart when I wasn't looking! Heeheehee... I didn't plan it, obviously, or I would've brought along some different clothes for her to change into so she wouldn't have to have her photos at the park in her swimming costume!

But she whispered to me that she didn't mind, she was just so happy to be liberated from her box!

I also brought along my most recent Glitter Girl named Anne... I took quite a lot of photos of them all together at the park. I even made a YouTube Video of them there. Here are some of the photos I took:

I have to run... Or I'll be late to church!
Have a great Sunday Doll Friends!

Mystery 2015 American Fashion Doll World 18inch Doll Gets A Wig And A Name!

Hi Doll Friends!!

In yesterday's post I told you about a mystery doll I got from the owner of a local Teddy Bear shop called Teddy Bear Connection. I put a few wigs on her when I got her home but when I put this one on I knew it was 'the one'. I've named her Naomi Lizzie and I think she's gorgeous!!

I think she looks pensive... So pretty!

I giggled when I put her in this pose... like she's running away from the castle!

Frann and Handra decided to join the photo! They had been showing Naomi around the Doll House Village when they all came upon this backdrop being used for another post and... Had to stop for photos of course! Heeheehee... What other post? It'll probably be the next one I post about some amazing new Halloween Costumes I got from Sophia Doll.

So... Until next time!
