Our Generation Yanira and Maddie Come To Live At The Doll House!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends,

This post is long over due... Last fall when I was in a bit of a depressed mood I did a bit of retail therapy by going to the Target website and...
I saw the beautiful Yanira and Maddie.
This face sculpt is my undoing... Just when I think "No more! I have enough!" They come out with a new one and I'm buying her! Our Generation Dolls are just so affordable especially for being, in my opinion, on par in quality to much more expensive doll brands. Anyway, so it wasn't too long before they made their way home to the Doll House... I actually had Yanira in a prior post already for those of you who might have noticed her and that I hadn't 'introduced' her yet.

I am kind of 'all over the map' with my posts in trying to catch up or keep up... So thank you, faithful readers, for your patience and loyal readership! Also, thank you for every comment made! I read them all but just don't have as much time as I once did and don't always get a chance to come here to answer them!

I better run!

Amazing American Girl Doll Scores At The Thrift Stores!!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

I've been meaning to come here and tell you about these amazing 'score' finds at the thrift stores over the last little while. I kept thinking they each needed their own post. However, the posts just haven't gotten done. So I finally decided to just do a combined post for all three of them.

The first one is this Felicity Doll. I actually got her nearly a year ago and the poor dear has just sat in her abused condition all this time waiting for a makeover. I think by doing this post I may have inspired myself to get her cleaned up because picking her up to take these photos made me pity the poor girl. I got her for only $1.99!! I have another Felicity in my collection, she was the first American Girl Doll I ever found at the Thrift Store. However, her wig was a nightmare and so she eventually became Prism

So this one seems to have a bit more workable wig and so I am thinking I am going to keep her as Felicity! I'll work on her this weekend, I hope, and come show you the outcome when I get her make over all done!

The nest American Girl Doll I found was this sweet gal... I got her for only $1.99! She is going to get a whole new wig because I don't think I can fix her hair. I'm not sure 'who' she was originally? Do any of you know?

She's had her fingernails and toenails 'polished' and so I am going to have to do something about that... But I think I'll be able to get it off.

The last American Girl Doll I've found at the thrift recently was this Caroline Doll I literally just got this week. She was in her original meet dress even!! She was only $3.99! I took it as a sign because Caroline is Felicity's best friend and so I really need to get them both cleaned up and made over so they can be comfortable and have a proper tea party!

Her wig is actually in pretty good shape considering and so I am going to try and keep it and restore it.

So those were all just amazing finds!! I don't really ever have the impulse to buy new American Girl Dolls anymore because they are so expensive and I think the quality has come down to be just about the exact same as Our Generation Dolls which are like a quarter the price even when they aren't on sale. However, I will likely ALWAYS buy them when I find them at the Thrift Store because they are usually the ones that were made before they made the changes and...

How can I not!?

Have a great weekend Doll Friends!

Maplelea Dolls Visit The High School and Thrift Store Finds and Left Behinds!

Hi Doll Friends!!

Happy Weekend!!
I finally went out and got some doll photos taken this week! I just stopped overthinking it, thinking I needed to set up some elaborate photo shoot or bring a half a dozen dolls... I just grabbed two Maplelea dolls in the outfits they had on and took them out with no set destination in my mind...
And I drove by the local high school and thought "That's it! It's such a pretty building! What a great background for photos!"

These are the photos I got. Maplelea Dolls are so pretty that it's hard to take a bad photo of one and I really enjoyed getting a few photos taken.

Also, recently I went by a Thrift Store... I've been trying to stop looking or at least buying dolls and doll items in Thrift Stores because I have so much already! However, I went by the toy section and found the two bags you'll see at the bottom of this post... I put them in my cart for a little while but ultimately decided to put them back. I have many doll carrying bags and probably more than enough so, I decided to let some other doll loving person find them. The American Girl Doll bag was really neat and I don't have that type but... Again, I've loads of tote bags and doll cases like the other one so... I put them back. One of my other favorite things to look at when I visit the thrift store is the book section. I love books! Both dolls sized and regular sized. Then, low and behold, what did I find?
A book about American Girl Dolls
Score!
So I did buy that, it's also at the bottom of this post. It was $3.99 and it's a super nice book filled with lots of great photos and facts about American Girl Dolls.

I hope you have a great weekend!
