New Items My Life As Doll Items At Walmart!!

Hi Doll Friends!!

My Life As Doll has really stepped up their gamed these past few years... They've come up with some pretty great accessories sets and playsets! As a doll blogger who's in my fourth-fifth year (depends on how you count it... I started the blog and blogged like a mad woman for like a month and then hit a glitch due to a nasty exchange with a reader impuning my character... Long ugly story I won't share... Took a year off and then hit ground running again.) I am finally learning the 'trends' in the doll world and this time of year is when they seem to start rolling out their new items. Seems a tiny bit cruel honestly... Right at Back-To-School time when everyone is broke from buying half the store to send to school with their kids. I'm not bitter. Hahaha. Kidding! But I guess they have to release them in enough time for the kids to know what they are and ask for them for Christmas so... I get it. Having been alerted via my fabulous Facebook Doll Group friends about new My Life As Doll items being released, I've gone several times to search them out. Sadly, I have only, thus far, ran into clearanced items from last year... of which I may have purchased a shopping buggy full of.
Teehee.

Still, I haven't been able to find the new items to come and show you... So, as a last resort, I am showing you some photos I've borrowed from the Doll Groups on Facebook.

The item creating the most 'buzz' and for good reason, is the Bathroom Play Set. It's $40.00 if I've been informed correctly.

The set I can't wait to get my hands on (two or three) of...? The adorable Ramen Dinner Playset!! Having lived in Hawaii and with one of my best friends living in Korea, I need these for the Doll House. Stat! Teehee. Seriously though. I need them
*giggles*

Another 'big buzz' item is this vending machine. It's really cute and apparently works? Action Ranger Timmy over at 'Why Did I Buy That Toy' Blog found this one and the third 'big buzz' item, the Karaoke Machine. That works and has lights and hooks to your phone via Bluetooth. Yes, that'll have to come home to the Doll House Village too! Frann has hosted at Karaoke Party at the Doll House before but it'd be much more fun with a working Karaoke machine!

They are also coming out with a Sewing Set that looks a lot like the Our Generation version. Also a DJ set, a swimming set, a science set (also a lot like OG's version), a crockpot set (?), a Christmas set...

A spa type set... A laptop set...

Speaking of Our Generation? Another Doll Group Friend posted photos of these new small sets:

I'll have to get this Nightie Night Carousel Set! Too Cute!

I'll hope to find some of these sets soon enough and buy one or more to bring home so I can show them to you. In the meantime, at least you know some of the items coming out! Have you found any in your Walmarts or Targets that I haven't shown/seen? Let me know in comments!

Better run!

City Girl Layla Arrives To Live At The Doll House!

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends!

I recently accepted a new job and with said job, I got a bit of a signing bonus. Well... I'm sure you can imagine what I spent my bonus on? Yes. A doll. You know me, I can't help myself. There are so many fabulous ones on the market nowadays! One of my newest favorites are the City Girls by New York Doll Collection. They are just fabulous! Jazz and Harper have settled in to the Doll House so well! Layla had gone on to my Doll Wish List soon after Harper arrived because she just cemented my good opinion of these dolls.

Here she is after she arrived... I bought her on Amazon for $79.99 and so of course she only took two days to arrive. What did we ever do before Amazon? Right? Athough sometimes I think it makes shopping just a tiny bit too easy. Teehee.

Here she is in her box. I decided to have a bit of fun and take a 'movie' of her being found and helped out of her box by some of the dolls from the Doll House Village. You can find the 'movie' here on YouTube. Here are a few of the photos from it in case you're not one to like to watch videos or don't have the time just now. I am having more and more fun making them and imagine there will be many more going forward. It's just so much fun to tell stories with the dolls. I eventually may start to do voice-overs instead of the 'silent film' (well, they have the tinned I-Movie music so they're not totally silent but there is no voice). I honestly make them for myself as much as anything... I am an administrator who works from home. While working, I listen to music and oftentimes will put my YouTube channel on silently in room I am working in on our 52inch TV (I think? 50 inch? Huge by a 1970s kids standards!!). So I can glance up from my computer screen and see my dollies! I know, that's probably a little lame but you already know I am a shameless doll nerd. Teehee. Watching them inspires me to do better with my photos and helps me think of new ideas... Not to mention keeping my stress level at work down. Hahaha. So, win-win all around. So if anyone else in the world enjoys them too, mores the better. So I'll let the following photos 'tell the story' of Layla coming home.

Side Note: I've decided, much like my Maplelea Dolls, I am going to keep the names the dolls come with for my City Girls. They each have sweet little stories of their own already and I kind of think it's fun to have a mix-up of Doppelganger Doll characters and fictional characters in the Doll House Village. I mean how fun is it that Heather Doll is now able to interact with Laura Wilder?
Doll House Village is such a cool fictional place! At least I think so. Teehee.

Better run!

I had my sweet Sophia Dolls Patti and Ariel help Harper and Jazz unbox her!

So pretty!!

Girls Of Faith 18inch Dolls! Christian Friend For American Girl Dolls!

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends!!
I am so excited to tell you all about an 18inch doll company that I only heard about on the Mommy & Gracie YouTube Show last week. The company is called Girls Of Faith and they are dolls whose characters are Christians! They each come with a story book of a great story about each doll and her journey with the Lord thru a particular season in her life. As a Christian and Jesus follower myself I love love love the idea! I was determined I'd love them even before I got mine because I just adore the idea behind them

My sweet Audrey doll arrived Thursday and she is amazing down to the last detail! Then, as if them being a Christian company with dolls based on Christian girls and being well wasn't enough, they are made in the USA!!! Mind you, they are made with some foreign components (like their outfits) because if you had them made in the US they'd have to charge a whole lot more than the $99.00 price. Given the quality and beauty of this doll, I think she's worth every cent. She even smells good!! She smells exactly like my My Friend Mandy and Jenny dolls did when they were brand-new back in the 1970s! Isn't it crazy how your olfactory senses can take you to another time and place? People probably think I am crazy but when I go to book stores one thing I love to do is to open books and take a whiff of that 'new book' smell. I digress.

Here is what her box looks like... Very sturdy and a great box to store your doll in when you're not playing with her!

Here's the label a little closer up.

Each doll comes with a story book about the doll. Currently there are two dolls available, Audrey like you see here and Hannah. Audrey is a modern character and Hannah is a historical character. There is a third doll in production right now to be released soon. I've already decided that I am throwing my full weight behind this company so I will be buying both Hannah and the newer doll in the future.

Here are the three dolls. Aren't they amazing! (I borrowed this photo from the Internet)

The two women who started the company designed the dolls from head to toe. One of them even created the face sculpt out of clay!! She should really take that up for a living, being a doll sculpt designer because the sculpt on this doll is just gorgeous!

Audrey comes in a red hoodie, a white tank top, jeans, pink panties and silver glitter 'Toms' shoes.

She was pretty happy it was time to get out of her box!

So beautiful!

A nice shiny wig!

Her eyes are not 'sleep' eyes, meaning they stay open all the time like Journey Girls dolls.

Speaking of eyes, hers are gorgeous! Hazel eyes are kind of rare in the Doll World and hers are some of the prettiest I've ever seen.

She's got a cloth body much like American Girl or Our Generation dolls do.

However, her arms are bent at the elbow more than the majority of 18 dolls... Which reminds me of the Life Of Faith Dolls a little bit. I love it because I think I'll be able to fold her hands in prayer in photos... That would be sweet.

I took the initial photos with her in her 'Meet' outfit. However, being as it's July in Nebraska... It was a bit 'warm' for the weather outside.

So I changed her into a more summery outfit.

Here she is outside enjoying the beautiful day!

By the tree...

One thing you may notice if you're a doll afficianado such as myself is her amazing poseability! I'll take more 'review' type photos later and post in a second post so you can see more what I mean.

I just had to come and show her off as soon as I could get the photos edited and uploaded!

Because I just love her. I know I know... I say that about all the dolls.
And I mean it every time. Teehee.

By the garden fence...

Since it's nearly back to school time I decided some classroom shots in the Scenes & Settings would be fun.

Waving to her friends...

Here she is in the kitchen for a snack after school.
*Side note, the window in the scene is a 'winter' scene... So I added a spring window over the top. I think it looks perfect! (wel, other than the little bit of curtains you can see coming out at the bottom but... Unless you're looking for them they don't really stand out.

And a walk after her snack...

So prepare to see Audrey in many upcoming photos!! I don't think I am going to keep her name Audrey, by the way. Lately I've been 'keeping' the name of most of my premium dolls... Sadly Audrey is a name that has played a large part in my life but mostly a sad part. So... I'll have to think of an alternative. Any suggestions? I'll have be considering it.

Better run if I am going to be on time for Church!
Have a wonderful week Doll Friends!
XOXO
