Walmart My Life As Doll Backdrops in the Doll House!!

Hi Doll Friends!!

Ever since I told you about the My Life As Doll Backdrops from Walmart, I kept thinking about them and regretting I didn't pick up at least one or two.... So, the other day, I was in town and needed milk and... So... I went to Walmart to get it and...

I bought my two favorites of the backdrops. I am so glad I did!!

Because they are pretty nifty!! This one, obviously, is the 'kitchen' one. What I love about it is that it has 'windows' in the door and a regular window too which makes it look much more 'real' I think.

Like I mentioned in that other post, I think they are a tiny bit short because as you can see here with my Tolly Tot Rose, she has 'just enough' room to be in the photo. So it's all about the angle you take the photo from really. As you can see she's standing on the 'floor' that came with my Jupiter Doll House which worked out rather well... I have it set up in front of my Doll Penthouse Main Floor, you can see the wallpaper with the Holly Hobbie type dolls on it.

Here we have Tyler in front of the outdoor scene. I have him standing on my grass panels and it looks pretty realistic I think.

See? Here is how it looks when it 's set up...

The scenes work perfectly with the 14 inch dolls... Aren't they cute?

Here they are in the kitchen.

Another great use for the backgrounds is to make an 'outdoors' for the Jupiter Doll House. Doesn't it look real? So cool!

Here is the beach/boardwalk scene! Perfect, right?

Then we have the 'stage' background...

Isn't it fantastic? I think it looks so real! Fun!

A New Little Brother For The Doll House! A 14inch Wellie Wisher Sized Customized Boy!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

So... I recently found a Style Girl on clearance at Tuesday Morning... And... Well...

I couldn't help myself. I snatched her right up and brought her home because I had played with the idea of making a Wellie Wisher (or Glitter Girl sized) boy doll for the Doll House. LollylueStephens Doll Wigs has an adorable line of wigs for this size doll... In fact I've already customized dolls with them before. Both these custom dolls were made with thier Wellie Wisher sized wigs and so was the as of yet un-named Rainbow wig Style Girl

I was pretty glad to get this doll too because I like her 'meet outfit' loads better than I liked the one that came on the other blonde Style Girl from Big Lot's.

I still haven't ever seen Melanie from this line... I imagine if I ever run across her I'll pick her up just because it'll be like finding a unicorn or something! Hahaha.

So here he is, my newest custom... Meet Giuseppe! That is Italian for Joseph and so the nickname my husbands Mom had for his brother... Who happens to have blue eyes and dark brown hair. Perfect!

He also looks a little bit like Tom Cruise, eh? Those eyes!

So since I named him Giuseppe I think I'll name her something similar since they are fraternal twins. So her name will be Gabriella because I've always loved that name and since it means "God is my strength" too.

Gabriella and Giuseppe!

Here is Giuseppe and Emerson so you can see what a great brother he will make to the Wellie Wisher dolls.

Since Cat Doll had on Nanea's meet outfit, she was perfectly dressed to take the three of them to the beach for photos! Aren't they cute?

Jupiter 18inch Doll House Arrived From Sam's Club!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

I mentioned recently that I found a Jupiter Wooden Doll House on clearance at Sam's Club for only $16.51 and like $6 shipping... Well, it arrived on Tuesday and my sweet husband assembled it for me on Saturday.

Sadly, Sam's Club ran out of them about the day after I ordered them because I'd love you to be able to get the same deal. I looked to see if they were available elsewhere and... Well... They are... But holy moly they are ridiculously expensive!! Now let me just say I am glad I got mine so inexpensively because I have to report a bit of bad news. This thing is annoyingly difficult to put together. Seriously. Like almost impossible.

My husband has been a technician for over 20 years and it still took him hours and a lot of aggravation to get it put together. He's a really patient guy who knows his way around such things and it is only a testament of how much he loves me that he didn't pitch the whole thing out the window. It is literally a jigsaw puzzle to put together and comes in a ton of different pieces!! I would've taken photos for you of all the parts and screws and such but I, luckily, left the house for a few hours long errand and wasn't home to take the photos. Luckily you say? Well... My husband joked that it was good I wasn't there because there might've been massive frustration and a bit of cursing involved. Why? Well, he doesn't mind a jigsaw puzzle and even a lot of pieces but when it comes to them actually not having the drill holes in the correct places so he had to drill some of his own, he starts to get annoyed. As he said, "If I weren't a technician for 20 years and was just some layperson who was trying to put this sucker together for my daughter on Christmas Eve, she might just wake up to no gift and a very upset father!!" It even says not to use power tools on it because it would be really easy to ruin the entire house if you aren't really careful. Let's just say I told my husband I'd owe him not one but three really big favors for actually finishing it and not pitching it out the window. So... Fair warning, if you decide to buy this, be prepared to spend hours of your time asssembling it. We still didn't put together the little stove that came with. My husband was so aggrivated by time he got house together that when he went to tackle that I was just like "Let's leave it... You can put it together some other time!!" But, all that being said, now that it's all assembled?

I LOVE IT!! It's SO CUTE!!!

I've always wanted an operational door for the Doll House for the endless photo ops it would provide. I saw one on American Girl Ideas and loved it but also know I am not quite that crafty and so knew I'd likely never go to the time and expense of making one like hers. But for less than $25 shipped?! I am so totally stoked... Here you can see Heather Doll peeking out of the door and if you look closely you can see the actual Doll House behind her! SO FUN!

See? What I did was to set the Jupiter Doll House right in front of my regular Doll House. My regulard Doll House is actually all set up as a huge Cala's Diner right now for an upcoming YouTube video I am wanting to make....

See the 'entryway'? I think it looks so "real"!!

See? This is how I set the Jupiter Doll House in front.

It's so much fun to look through the little door and window and see the Doll House!!

I am sure I'll think of other great ways to use it for photos as well, like when nice weather rolls around again I can take it outside and have so much fun taking photos of the dolls outside 'their' house. Fun!!

Better run!
Happy Monday!

Walmart In Store Report; A Different Store With New My Life As Doll Items!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

Yesterday I went in to town and was able to go to a totally different Walmart than I the one I went to the other day... It's both amazing and annoying how much different the selection is on My Life As Doll items from store to store...? I don't really see any ryhme or reason to it but I imagine there is one? In any case, it almost makes going to each different Walmart like a treasure hunt this time of year! It's the time they start to release their new items for the year and clear out last years items. They generally don't get the new items online until later than they get them on the shelves and so often the only way you'll even see a new items is to find it in the actual store! Madness! Or maybe not but... You know what I mean.

As you can see they had their 'clearance balloons' lining the aisle of the toy department. Talk about a way to pull you in, right?

As you can see, they've recently reset the shelves and there are several 'holes' where items haven't arrived to stock them yet.

There is a lot of stuff that is the same as last year but just released in different colors. I am finding that is a common thing in both My Life As Dolls and Our Generation Dolls lines.

This time I thought to take a closer photo of the water-fountain. It really is pretty cute.

Notice the blonde boy is still full price at this store. Weird, right?

This was an accessory set I didn't see in the other store... A horse jumping set. Cute! I might just have to get this one because I have lots of horses at the Doll House!

I don't recall seeing this boy doll in the small dolls last year? Maybe I just missed him?

They even had a clothes set for him How cute!

They had lots of new 'exotic' pets too... Like a unicorn and a dolphin and...

An adorable sloth!! He can 'hold on' to things... So cute!

I took better photos of the beach set I saw the other day... It's pretty cute but I honestly have all of the components that come with it from other sets for the most part so I don't know if I'll get it or not. Let's get real... I probably will at some point. Haha!

Here is a list of what comes in it...

These earphones with cat ears and crowns were new! I am kicking myself for not buying one...? I will be getting the cat one if I can find it again...

Was the bike this color last year? I can't recall?

They had a lot of new fashions out and so many cute ones!! I've gotten a ton of doll clothes in the last few months so I wasn't really even tempted to buy them. But they were all so cute I thought I'd take a photo of them for you so you can see them!

I also remembered to take a photo of the dolls on the side of one of the new styled dolls so you can see what this years line up will be.

And I checked out the clearanced items too... Was very proud of myself for not buying anything!

Because I was super tempted by this cute doll in the footy PJs!

The dog grooming van was half off! But I don't need another huge doll item...

I guess I wasn't the only one who didn't really think the little hippy set was all that cute or had much 'play value'...?

This is cute though! It made me remember I have this set and it's still in package tucked into a closet... I'll have to get it out and show it to you soon!

Then there were cars for the small dolls... Who knew! Again, not something I need but cute and a great price!

Have to run if I am going to get to church on time! Happy Sunday!
