Our Generation Festive Feast Playset; A Review Three Years Later

Hi Doll Friends!

It's almost Thanksgiving!

How does your family celebrate? Tell me in the comments? What is your favorite tradition or food? I love Green Bean Casserole myself... And dressing!! Not stuffing, dressing! I moved to Alabama in 2020 and discovered the difference. I never liked stuffing but dressing..? I could eat an entire 13x9 inch pan of it all by itself. Haha.

Speaking of Thanksgiving... It's been over three years since I originally bought a really cute set from Our Generation called "Festive Feast"... Or actually I apparently bought two of them. I unboxed them at the time and put them aside to take photos of and write a post about them. Then... My life sort of fell apart and I ended up moving across the country... Well since I've been slowly putting my Doll Room together again I want to show you some of the fun stuff I've found in the unpacking.

This set is so cute!!
I guess I must've really thought so since I bought two of them for some reason. Hahaha.
I seem to remember I wanted a whole 'set' of the dishes, enough for a four place settings.

When I unpacked the sets I kept the little cardboard cutout photo from the box... Then put them in this little plastic storage box and didn't open it again for over three years.
Life is so funny sometimes, isn't it.

Here it is, packed in it's little box.

And here are Gasper and Robyn are posing with it all set up on a table in the Doll House. They are both wearing dresses made by the talented Goofy that I got years ago as a gift from Frann. 💗The background is, you may have guessed, from Temu. Isn't it pretty?)

So... There is the Festive Feast set.
Sadly I am not sure it can be found anywhere anymore...
I looked on eBay and couldn't find it...
Target didn't have a listing for it when you click the link from the Our Generation link.
So I hope I'm not being rude showing it to you now...
"Oh look! Isn't this set neat? Too bad you can't get one!"
Lame? I hope not.
But it's too cute not to show it to you. It's a quandry.

I better go!

Our Generation Mirna; New Doll In The Doll House and a Rice Cooker too!

Hi Doll Friends,

I finally caved and had to get a doll with this adorable dimpled face sculpt from Our Generatrion. Our Generation Mirna was the one of them that I finally decided to get. She is so beautiful. As soon as she arrived I couldn't help myself but to get her out and take photos of her.

Since there was a Buy-One-Get-One half-price sale going on when I bought her I also decided to grab the Our Generation Sushi Supreme set at the same time. It comes with a rice cooker that has a working light and 'beeps' when it's done. How fun is that? I spent my early 20's in Hawaii where all the local people have a rice cooker just like this in their kitchen. So it made me all nostalgic. Had to happen.

Better run!

Tropical Backgrounds From Temu!

Hi Doll Friends,

I am reasonably sure I've purchased every single option that Temu has for backdrops. Hahaha. Or actually the ones I've been buying are marketed as 'wall tapestries' but they work so well as backdrops for dolls and none of them have been more than about $5.00. How could I not? This way my dolls can 'travel' without ever leaving my doll room. Since my time is limited, taking dolls out and about for doll photos it just more difficult so having the 'venues' right here at home is so convenient. Not to mention I don't have to worry about my dolls being blown over by the wind into the dirt and such. I saw some Facebook friends taking a tropical cruise recently so I was inspired to have some of my dolls 'travel to the tropics'! It was fun to do since we are coming into the colder months of the year. I think I like this first backdrop better than the second because it was easier to pose the dolls in front of. The second one has a 'balcony' and it was hard to get the right perspective, especially with a few dolls in the photos.

So, have any of you purchased any backdrops from Temu? If not, I don't think you can go wrong.

Better run!

Mini Brands Season One Score on Facebook Auction Group!

Hi Doll Friends!!

I'm sure most of you have heard of the Mini Brands by ZURU toys. I have looked at them for a while but couldn't ever justify spending $10-$15 for a 'grab bag' style of only five mini items. What can I say, I'm far to cheap for that. As luck would have it, on a local Facebook Auction Group I am a member of, low and behold, what would be listed but a whole bag of them! This particular auction groups rules state you have to start all of the auctions on there at only a $1 and the auction duration is only 24hours. Which is kind of neat because it kind of means you get 'local market place value' for whatever you post for the most part. It's easier than eBay posting because there is not any mailing involved, it's usually 'porch pickup' after you pay by CashApp or Venmo or Paypal. Which is exactly like it sounds, you pay, they send you their address and you go pick it up off their porch. So, I bid on them and got the whole bag for only $6.00! Woot!!

I was so excited to go and pick them up and see what I got in my grab bag! I got so many cool ones and after a bit of research, I realized that the ones I got were mostly (all?) from Season One, the very first! Apparently some of them are worth a few dollars each on eBay!! I doubt I'll sell any them because I like them so much. It'd be so fun to set up a 'grocery store' or 'doll pantry' with them.

My favorite of all the ones I got were the Kikkoman's Shoyu (soy sauce) ones. Kikkoman is the only brand of shoyu I buy because of all my years in Hawaii. I lived there in my early twenties, my first apartment was in Wahiawa! So that is awesome to have and I am itching to set up a 'restaurant' with them. Because of my time in Hawaii, getting the can of Spam made me smile.
Fun!

I've posted photos of how detailed all of the mini brands I got are below.
Then there are photos I've snagged off the Interwebs to show you the first series checklist etc.
and what came in some of the other seasons (in the handful photos)
 So, what a fun find!
Do you have any Mini Brands? Tell me about them in the comments!

Better run!
