Tolly Tot Rose and Another Twinsy Doll For The Doll House!

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends!
My very first 18inch type doll was my Tolly Tot's Rose. She was one of my daughters 18inch dolls the year she got her first American Girl Doll. She was a doll we'd discovered at a thrift store for $2.00 or so and my daughter didn't really play with her because she had Calla and Shuri and they were more her favorites at the time. So I was able to sneak her out of my daughters room to be my fit model for my very first attempts at upcycling doll clothes. When my daughter discovered I'd used her for my fit model and started liking her she sweetly gave her to me as 'my' doll for when we played dolls. So, suffice to say she's got and will always have a special place in my heart and the Doll House.

As you may recall, I recently found some new in the box Tolly Tots Tolly Girl Clothes on eBay. Well, what I didn't tell you at the time was that a doll came with the lot. She wasn't in her box but she was 'brand new' in that she still had on her original outfit and still had her hair nets in from when she was unboxed. She was a nearly identical twin to my Rose!! Her hair is a tiny bit darker and she has bangs but otherwise I think they are spot on!

Do you agree? Here they are side by side. Rose put on a pair of PJs that I got at the same time so they look even more like twins!! So I had another twinsy doll to send my sister friend Frann!

They had some great conversations when they met! Long lost twins often do. *winks*

So I waited to tell you about her untill now because I specifically purchased her for my sister friend Frann for her Birthday. I finally got her sent this week and so can finally come and tell you about her and not ruin the suprise for Frann. Well, not quite. She might read this before her Rose arrives in the mail but I couldn't wait to tell about her now that she's on the way!

So Happy Birthday Frann
I am so glad of having started writing this blong since it's how I met you!

Trivia fact: My Rose came with her original owners name written on her foot (Think Andy from Toy Story) and so when I found her I changed it to read my daughters name... I obviously could try the zit cream cure and perhaps make it disappear but for sentimental reasons, I think she's going to keep her tattoo. She also had a tiny rip in her bottom when I got her and she has a little 'flower' patch over it... But she's perfect, to me. *smiles*

Better run!

Under The Weather At The Doll House!!

Hi Doll Friends!!

So sorry I've been MIA for so long! I normally never go a week between postings. Sadly a bug has hit the house with a storm of symptoms of all sorts depending on the family member struck. As much as I've been trying to be in denial about it, my scratchy throat and 'cotton ball filled' filled (not literally, just how it feels) sinuses are telling me I might be headed down that road myself. If you're the praying sort and read this in time, please pray I am well enough to go to Easter services tomorrow! Thanks! So, in light of how my week has been, I decided to take a photo of Miss Mckenna Julie sick in bed...

She's much cuter being sick than I am, trust me.

In the vein of full disclosure, cos that's how I try to roll, I would be remiss if I neglected to mention another reason I've been absent. This last week marked the fifth year annivsersary of my Mom passing away. It really knocked the wind out of me this year. She left a huge hole in this world when she went and I haven't felt it as accutely and painfully as I did this past week since the year she died. Grief is like waves... It never goes away, it's just in varying levels of tides. Right? So, I lost myself in binge watching Hoarders Buried Alive (don't judge, we all keep our houses clean in our own ways! Teehee) and cried quite a lot... Heck I am crying while I type this. Not trying to be too 'candid' but I try to tell it like it is when it comes to such things. So, if you have a mom you're close to, give her a call today, eh? Tell her Hi from me. For those of you who've lost your Mom too soon (and isn't it always too soon?), know that you're not the only one who's heart breaks over and over again at the loss. I'll keep breathing until the tide goes out again, in the meantime I'll press into Jesus. He always whispers just the right thing to keep me breathing well.

Till nesxt time.

Madame Alexander Batgirl Doll Arrives At The Doll House!

Doll Friends,

It wasn't my fault. She showed up in my suggestions from Amazon and was less than $30 and I've recently heard Madame Alexander company is struggling... I had to.

Isn't she adorable?

I took photos of her in her box but for some reason I can't get some of them to upload into Google. I've tried three times? Weird! So here are stock photos from Amazon of how she looks in the box.

These are the only two of the box photos I could get to upload...? As you can see, there are three different Super Hero dolls in the line!

I love the costumes of the other two but I really don't care for the face sculpt on either of them. I think this face sculpt looks like she's about to cry or is terrified or something... Not the best look for Super Girl really... Too bad... Or maybe a good thing because I might've thought I needed all three of them. Hahaha.

I also had photos of the Wonder Woman version but they wouldn't upload. She's since gone up in price to over $40 anyway.

I love her! She's got the cutest costume and it's so well made!

She had the sewn-in whatsits in her hair but her hair is lovely now that I took them off.

Such pretty blue green eyes! I don't think I have this face sculpt in my collection either... I need to take a side by side look with all my other MA dolls to verify... Hmmm...

Gotta run! Have a happy Sunday!

Our Generation Beekeeper Doll Is Out Of The Box!

Hi Doll Friends!

Friday again! Time sure does fly! On Tuesday I went by Target to pick up my beautiful Our Generation Beekeeper Doll... This week has been super busy and so I didn't get a chance to take her out of the box and take photos until yesterday evening.

She. Is. So. Beautiful!! I love her. In as much as she has the same face sculpt as Juliet, she has a totally different look to her. I didn't realize it until she arrived, but she looks almost exactly like my best friend in sixth and seventh grade named Amy. I say those years because I moved a lot as a kid and that's all the more I was able to be friends with Amy and she and I lost touch. Eleven schools total in my 13years of school, you do the math. So it wasn't always all that easy to keep in touch in the days before social networking and the internet. I digress... Back to the doll, stock photos of dolls online often don't really give you an accurate picture of what the doll will look like in person I've found. Most of the time the dolls are prettier in person than online. Do you think so? Such was the case with this beautiful doll who's name will be changed to, you guessed it, Amy.

I love the Beekeeper outfit too! I'll have to how you the accessories in a different post because they are fabulous!!

I did get her changed into a different outfit but just didn't get more photos taken of her... I'll hope to get some this evening. The weather is finally getting a bit warmer and it's staying lighter later so maybe I'll even get to take her outside for some photos!

Her outfit was 'sewn on' to her in a couple of spots so if you're gifting this doll to a child, they'll need your help (and you'll probably need a seam ripper unless you're better with scissors than I am) to get her clothes off. I understand why they do this since they have 'open faced' boxes but... Kind of annoying anyway. Don't get me wrong, I love about 99% of things about Our Gen dolls but that one is kind of annoying. As a girl, when I'd get a doll, the very first thing I'd do would be to change her outfit and if it would've been sewn on, I might would've been to hasty in removing the strings and ripped the clothing... Or something... I know... It's a strange thing to be annoyed over but there it is.

So I am sure Amy will be yet another favorite at the Doll House! And that, should Our Generation release other dolls in the future with this face sculpt, I will likely add more to my collection because it's a beautiful one.

Better run!
Have a great weekend!

Our Generation Beekeeper Doll Melina Arrives At Doll House!!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

Happy Wednesday!! When I got my Juliet Doll, I loved her face sculpt so much that I knew I'd have to get the other doll that OG put out with the same sculpt. Naturally, once I decided I wanted her, she became nearly impossible to find online. She is the Beekeeper Doll from OG's Professional Doll collection. Her accessories are nearly as cute as she is! So I took to 'checking' Target online for her whenever I checked my emails etc and made the 'rounds' of my phone. (You know, Instagram, my blog, email, Pinterest, favorite blogs, Facebook (when I am weak, LOL I am trying to give up), etc etc etc.. you know, the rounds of modern day life.) So the other day I checked and there she was!! So, despite having gone a tiny bit bonkers in the arena of doll buying lately, I snatched her up without a second thought, chose 'ship to store' to avoid shipping costs and waited. She arrived Monday and I was able to swing by and pick her up after work yesterday. I am so so so glad I bought her. She is totally gorgeous.

She arrived in a clear plastic bag...

Here she is early this morning... I needed to photo her in the box before I opened and then I forced myself to come and write this post before I allow myself to unbox her... So this post might be short. Hahaha!

At Target these beds were 50% off! I don't need another doll bed or I might've snapped one up. So cute!

This is a new motif in their other kind of doll bed. I think it's cute!

I saw the hotdog cart and even though they currently have a BOGO half off sale, I am proud to say I didn't buy it. I am sure I'll regret it at some point. It is really cute.

I want these twins!!! I keep talking myself out of them because I have so many dolls but I love that they are sold 'as' twins and have a whole story about them and being twins. How fun!!

Is this a new face sculpt? I couldn't decide. At first I thought she was the same old one but... Looking closer I am not sure. Her nose seems thinner?

Not a new sculpt but I love her ensemble!

I think this gal might be new too? Do you guys remember?

Naturally I stopped in to a couple of Goodwill's enroute home yesterday too... I saw these chairs... I don't need any more doll chairs at all... They were marked $3.99 each but are pretty top notch and so I didn't think that was too much... But I don't need any doll chairs. So, I compromised and bought two of them. Bwahahahahahahahaha. Seriously though, do you know how many dolls I have? They need to sit somewhere...!

Also saw these cuties... Love their outfits and their cute faces but... NO. I left them there. So cute though!

More sad collector dolls at Goodwill. *sigh* Poor dears.I actually have a few of the Precious Moments ones and I think they are really really cute. But they are in the basement in the 'get rid of' box because, ultimately, I had to choose a 'type' and stick with it. Or I'd own every Precious Moments doll ever made before I knew it. Hahaha. But they are so cute!!

Then I saw Jesus. It was all I could do not to bring Him home!! Had to keep reminding myself "I don't collect figurines, I don't collect figurines...." I love Jesus!

Better run!!

March Drawing For 18Inch Doll Accessories!!

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends!!

My oh my does time ever fly!! Somehow I flew through February and now over half of March without getting a new doll item drawing for my sweet readers! I kept thinking of it and meaning to get here to post one and just getting distracted by other blog posts and 'real life'. So... To make up for it, I decided to dig through my 'misc. doll extras' box and come up with a drawing with lots of stuff in it to make up for missing February completely. It's a pretty random lot but hopefully a bit of fun for the doll who wins it.

Included are: Five baskets, two frisbees, a 'blender' from MLA (that has a button you push and it 'works', some 'dixie cups' (red ones), some clear plastic cups (mulit-colored), two 'gold' goblets, a 'pitcher' from OG, a 'trophy', a garden chalk board sign, a bunny rabbit, two parasols (they are a tiny bit small for 18inch dolls but great for Wellie Wisher sized dolls... I had them so I threw them in), a pair of black ballet slippers, and a few plastc toys for the Easter basket (a unicorn, a dinosaur and a fairy). I think that's everything...? Please ask questions if you have them!

How do you enter drawing? Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy!! Just like prior drawings, you just go and 'like' the PCR American Doll House Facebook Page and share the post there about the contest on your own Facebook page. That's it, super easy!

I will draw the name of the contest winner on Sunday March 25, 2018 at  6:00PM CST.

*Contest only open to people in the United States or APO addresses due to postage costs!!* (Sorry international readers, I only have so much money to devote to my little blog here)

So, good luck!!

Have a fantastic day!
