Our Generation Deluxe Farmers Market Set

Hi Doll Friends!!

As you may know if you read this blog regularly, the last six months of 2019 were, well, no fun at all for the most part. I guess there are just years like that and I'll hope that was the worst of mine going foward. However, during that time, I had a birthday (in November)...And with some birthday money I got, I bought this adorable Our Generation Deluxe Farmers Market Set. I sort of bought it and then let it sit, in it's box, for when I felt I'd actually get enjoyment from opening it. I finally got it unboxed this last weekend and had some of my newer Our Generation dolls model with it to show you how adorable it is. By the way, about the doll models above, they've yet to be named... I am leaning towards Sookie for the one on the right who is named Ivory from Our Generation. Sookie after Sookie Stackhouse from the book series and show. I loved the books more than the show but I loved Sookie in any case and have wanted to find a doppelganger doll for her. I think I decided as I am typing this that is going to be her name. Heehee.

 Also, when I posted this photo on Instagram, more than one person asked me about the outfit that Sookie is wearing. I am planning a blog post about that soon (got the photos taken, just need to get it done) but... The outfit is a 'one of a kind' outfit I bought from a local lady in my town. I'll try to remember to come back to this post to give you a linky to that story but if you're reading this six months from now and it's not there, I am sure that post will be of the next few. 

I really think Our Generation has stepped up their game in the last few years and their accessories are absolutely on par with American Girl Doll, which is so often considered the industry standard in this doll size. The lovely thing about Our Generation is that you don't have to mortgage your house to buy them. Teehee... Or maybe that's just me and my own doll hoard collection. 

I think this set is going to be perfect for Charlsea's Farmer's Market's  in the future. I love the tomatoes and peppers! They all are singles and come out of the boxes they are in. I think the bundled carrots and turnips are adorable too! I love that it came with a blueberry pie because I can use that in other scenes as well. Oh, what can I say, I love the whole set! The apples don't come out of the basket but I am good with that because that would be a mess and I have lots of 'single' apples anyway. So, I'll look forward to incorporating this set into my Farmer's Market Youtube Video and to use the veggies and pie in other scenes as well. Great set!

All traditional Korean dresses were made by Goofy and were a gift from my sister friend Frann. Aren't they beautiful? Three of these dolls were also gifts from Frann! It's so lovely to have friends to share our Doll Hobby!

Sophia's 18inch Doll Grocery Basket Accessories Set!

Boy, does Amazon ever have my number or what? I am shopping for some perfectly grown up and responsible item and ready to ring up... And then Amazon says "Hey, did you see this cute new doll accessory (or outfit or doll itself or or or)?" and before I know it, it's 'added to cart' and on the way to my house. Clever Amazon. Clever. Case in point? This really adorable Sophia's Grocery Basket I just got in the mail the other day...

I'm not sure if it something new from Sophia's or if I've just never seen it before but it really is pretty adorable. It is only $7.95 snd would make a cute gift for any doll loving person you might know.... Even if that person is yourself. Teehee. I am as bad as Amazon!! 

Here's what it looks like in the packaging. 

It reminds me a lot of Walmart's Grocery Basket in price and size. I like this one because it has lots of 'exotic' fruit and more veggies so I think owning both isn't 'overkill'. Which is good because I think I have two of the Walmart variety. (Don't judge! One was a gift! Hahaha!)

The fruits and veggies remind me of the old fashioned 1970's plastic fruit people used to keep on their tables... It's hollow and the stems are all 'removable'. They could be crushed by an overzelous child and might present choking hazards to younger siblings in the house... In fact when I put this banana in Pamela Doll's hand, it left little dents where her fingers were 'holding it'. All that being said, they are really cute and realistic looking. 

The peach even has fuzz on it! So cute!!

I love the starfruit and the peppers! There's even an eggplant! How fun!

The cardboard box items are also very 'crushable'. If I were going to be giving this to a child I'd probably stuff them with cotton balls and reinforce them with packing tape to make them more sturdy... For an adult collector like me they are perfect as is for doll photos. 

There is a clear plastic insert to hold the groceries up when they are in packaging and as you can see in this photo, there is a package of silica gel you'll want to make sure you remove before you hand it over to the kiddoes. 

All in all a cute set. I need to make a 'grocery store' or a 'farmers market' scene sometime soon. That would be fun!

Our Generation Picnic Table Set and Lotus Beverly Hills Beach Set!!

Oh. Doll. Friends!!

I know it's likely silly but I feel like I am so behind in my doll blog...! So behind what? By who's measure? My own constant inner 'critic' I suppose but 'she' sure can be relentless. I suppose it's just because I am always so excited to come and show you the 'latest' from the Doll House and a combo of two things happened. 1) My birthday is in November followed quickly by Christmas and I also hit 100K during that time... So... Had a bit of a massive windfall of new dolly items hit the Doll House. (Not complaining at all just justifying the gluttony more than anything... LOL) and 2) December is such a busy month with Christmas and then my daughters Birthday quickly on it's heels and then New Year... I am sure you understand that part! I suppose if I am really honest I'll add a 3) this time of year always pulls me into a bit of a slump. Not to get into a totally different subject but I happen to live with a bonafide diagnosed mood disorder, specifically the bipolar variety with a side order of PTSD. I don't know that I've ever mentioned it here in my little Doll World but I am pretty candid about it with people in my 'real' life because I believe that is the only way to reduce the stigma of said mood disorders. So... Sometimes the winter months make me want to crawl off into a cave and hybernate like the bears. It just wears me out and wears me down... The good news being that through lots and lots of Jesus and quite a bit of yoga and a life long won network of wonderful and supportive people, I am really healthy and mostly consider myself in 'remission'. But I'd be lying if I didn't say that this time of year is harder than the rest. I mention it here so perhaps you'll understand why there might not be quite as many posts this time of year. I do try but... Like I say... It wears me out and wears me down. If you're the praying sort, I'd love to have you pray for continued peace and healing on that score. Now... Back to the dolls!!

So as part of my rather ridiculously large windfall of doll items on my birthday this year are two really nifty sets... They are going to be so much fun to include in Doll Photos!!

I've always admired all the food accessories in this Our Generation PicNic Table Set! The salad alone made me want it but... The cutting board! The cucumbers!! The watermelon slices!! Oh, ALL of it is so cute!! But... It's like $50 and I am much to cheap to buy it for myself... But... My husband wasn't!! God bless him. 

These pictures don't really tell the story of how HUGE this box is. But, trust me, it's ginormous!

I did get started on taking photos of both sets... But then something came up that day (???) that I had to pack it all up and away and... I've never gotten back to it. But you can see a lot of the accessories in these few photos. I took them right around the time I got my Bumbleberry Girl Tatum because you can see she's in this photo along with Frann and Cat. 

Here is the Lotus Beverly Hills Beach Set. I got it on Amazon with some Birthday money.

I had one of my dolls dressed in the swimsuit that came with the beach set but then... Like I say... I got pulled away and she's still wearing the swimsuit on the doll shelf... Probably freezing! Poor dear! Haha!

When I got the picnic set, as I was unpacking it, my dear daughter actually showed an interest in it! Whenever that happens it's so much fun, like traveling back in time. She's a teen now and those moments are pretty few and far between. But when I was unpacking it all so I could take photos, she asked if she could set all the foods up on the picnic table. Of course you can!! So, here is what she set up. It's good she did it honestly because I don't know if I'll ever sort out the items that specifically came with this set again to be honest. They'll probably get all mixed in with all my other dolly food and... well... Like I say, it's good she set it up to show you the details. 

Isn't it all so cute?? I love that there are so many great doll items now! I am so looking foward to warmer weather with more sun so I can take proper photos of the Dollies with these fun sets!

Doll Sized Tupperware Modular Mates Score From Goodwill!!

Hi Doll Friends!!

When I was a little girl, my mother, for a short time, was a Tupperware Lady. I think she became a consultant just to be able to get the 'kit' that came as part of the package when you sign up. Presumably, the kit is to take to Tupperware parties to show off the pretty dishes to the possible clients. I won't lie, I don't recall even one time my Mom actually did a party so... I suspect that is the case. In any case, it established, in me, a love of Tupperware products from an early age. Also, a pretty uncanny ability to identify and locate any Tupperware item at a thrift store from 20 paces. Hahaha. 

I have quite a bit of Doll Sized Tupperware in the Doll House from such sources. I got the Cake Taker Set from the 1970s at a thrift store once for only 50cents! Then I ended up getting the Barbie version of the cake taker at a totally different store. Do I need two cake takers? Um... That's a great question. Until I figure out the answer, I'll hold on to both of them. There could be a bake sale in the Doll House! You never know! Right? I searched and searched on Tupperware's website and it appears that they don't sell the cake taker anymore? They do have the kids baking set and the mini serving set... But it would appear the only place to find the kids cake taker is on eBay or other second hand sources. What's up with that Tupperware? Weird much? I am sure it would sell. Right? I really should've have done that eBay search for you to post the linky... Now I know they made a modern version! I will tell you, if I find that one cheaply second hand, I will have a third cake taker in the Doll House! How cute!! I digress...

I found this little bag of modular mates at Goodwill and I literally giggled out loud. I have modular mates galore in my own, real, kitchen. To tell the truth, I also became a Tupperware dealer for a few months once, to earn the kit and get the discount. I picked up a lot of Modular Mates then. They are pretty expensive and so I only got a few new. However, as you may have surmised by reading this here little blog, I have a bit of an 'eye' for finding things. And I have like 100 modular mates in my kitchen, storing all my stuff... Right down to the spice containers. So, to have modular mates in my dollies cupboards just makes me smile.  

Here are six of them in the doll kitchen. Aren't htey cute?! Even though they probably won't be seen all that often in my doll scenes, I'll get a kick out of knowing they are in the little cupboard all the time, 'storing' my dollies staples. How fun is that?
