Pzas Doll Sweet Little Feet Shoe Wardrobe Is a Great Deal!!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

I've been reticent to tell you about the fabulous deal I found a few months ago on doll shoes because about the monment I came here to tell you about them, they disappeared off Amazon! Oy! So I've been watching for them since and... Finally they reappeared! Here is the link to them:

These little shoes are so adorable and such a great deal. Currently they are listed at $17.50 for the set. That makes them $2.50 a pair! Great deal cos they really are very cute and well made! I won't lie, I just ordered a second set when I saw them come back because I love them so much. Dolls can never have too many shoes or clothes, right?

They arrive in this cute little shoe box. They'd make a wonderful gift for any doll loving person! Even if that person is yourself! Teehee.

Here is Breanna wearing a pair of them. Aren't they cute?

And Heather Doll (above on right) is wearing a pair here...

And Frann Doll (above left) is wearing the black pair here...

Here is my set when they arrived.

Each pair comes in a little plastic bag.

These photos were borrowed from Amazon's listing because they tell the story of them pretty well!

So if your dollies need some new shoes, you can't go wrong with these!

Better run!

Thrifty Shopping Score! Better Beauty Cases For Doll Accessories!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

Do you ever find something and wonder "How did I live without this in my life so far?" because it's just so handy and perfect for what you need it for? Well, I was lucky enough to come across one of those finds this week at Goodwill. I always keep my eyes open for all manner of things but one of those things is "shiny and new looking" no matter what it is. If it looks like it's brand spanking new, I'll pick it up and look at it. Cos, well, you never know. So when I saw these shiny and new looking purple bags, I picked one up... After I realized what it was and how cool it was, I grabbed up the other two before anyone else had a chance to see them.

Side note: You have to be ruthless at Thrift Stores! If you're not sure if you want something, pick it up anyway and put it in your shopping buggy. You can always change your mind but if you leave it on the shelf, it's gone 9 times out of 10 when you decide you want it and go back to look... Word to the wise... I'd know from experience. Eh?

What did I find exactly? Well, I'd never heard of them before but they are called "Better Beauty Cases" by Joy Mets. Obviously they are made for makeup and beauty products but... They will be perfect for doll accessories too!! They were brand spanking new and marked $3.99 for large and $2.99 each for other two! So for $9.99 I got all three! Score!!

See, you open them up and there are all these smaller zippered pouches inside each one.The coolest part being that they have velcro on the back of each pouch so you can just grab one of them and not have to take the whole case... Handy! Also you can see at a glance what is in each one and only open the zipper to the pouch you want to get something out of instead of rifling through some big bag. You, I am sure, are clever enough to imagine how handy this will be for doll items!

I plan to use the smallest one for my dolls eye-glasses. I am forever forgetting to even put eye-wear on my dolls because they are all in a box in a shelf and I tend to forget I even have them until I am done with half a photo shoot! It will be much easier to remember them if I put the 'eye glasses case' with the other doll accessories as a visual reminder to take care of my dollies eye health.
*giggles*

The largest case will hold my doll socks! I've never ever found a good solution to storing doll socks and this will be perfect because I will be able to sort them by type and color and not have to rifle through a huge bin of socks to find the two I need.
*happy-dance*

I plan to use the mama-sized medium sized bag for my 'misc' doll accessories... Think 'long fancy evening gloves' and doll scarves and such... I am so excited to be more organized and know all of the items I put in these cases will be used more often for my having easy access to them.

Sweet! Right?

And... Here's what I didn't buy but had to show you... So I can show you that I don't buy every single doll or doll related item I find. I thought this OG doll was cute and in great shape (Her hair is amazing shape for textured/curly hair on a Goodwill doll!). However, I just had a bit of a doll purge (maybe I'll make a post about that soon...) and more than one OG doll moved on to greener pastures and so... She stayed there to be some other little girls find. I almost bought her for her cute shoes... She was only marked $1.99 but... Then I didn't for some reason...? (I'd have re-donated the doll... Oh well... I have lots of doll shoes)

This one almost got me. Because oh. my. cute! Right? But 1) it's really pretty large and would take a lot of room to store for an item that wouldn't really realisitically be used too often. and 2) it was marked $9.99. Not horrible but not a price that begged me to buy it even if I might end up on an episode of Extreme Hoarders.

More doll beds... I thought they were a little nuts being priced at $7.99 each. They are only like $35 brand spanking new... But I am obviously used to really really good deals. Teehee. They did have mattresses and that can be rare in doll beds second hand so...

Another item that almost got me and honestly now I am like "Why didn't I buy that?!" It would've been such a cute corner shelf in the living room or dining room of Doll House. Darn it. Maybe no one else will want it and it'll still be there the next time I go to this Goodwill... Heeheehee...

A Springfield doll that I picked up and put in cart for a few minutes because I don't have the blonde haired blue eyed version but ultimately decided to leave at the store. I can't house all the dolls.
I guess..

A cute little dresser in an interesting shape... But I don't need any more doll dressers. My doll bedrooms are chockablock full up already.

This was cool! I am not sure if it was meant to be a doll bed or a dog bed. It was pretty big! If I had a huge house and a huge doll room I might've bought it just as a cool place to display dolls but... Nope. Still... Isn't it cool?

Better run!

Inexpensive American Girl Doll Clothes Hanger Options

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

It's a problem for anyone with a lot of doll clothes... Doll hangers and where to find enough for your doll clothes without spending more on the hangers than you did on the doll clothes! You wouldn't think this would be a problem but once you look into it, you realize that cheap pre-made doll hangers are expensive! Who would've thought?

I am never one to resign myself to status quo so I tried a couple of options... The first, more expensive one, was to order some of the most economical doll hangers on the internet as far as I could tell. They were $13.99 for 24 hangers from Dori's Doll Boutique on Amazon. (It looks like price has dropped a smidge since I bought mine) Figured I would try them first to see if they were worth the money...

Well, they are rather nice... Only problem? The hook part of the hanger is too small for standard closet rod! Oy!! That's the size of the rod in my doll closet and so these hangers weren't going to work for that at all... I actually planned to mail them back to Amazon but ended up using them for my 14" and slim-line doll clothes in a different 'closet' later... (Yes, I have too many doll clothes)

As you can see, I bought them from Amazon last December. I just found this Blog Draft in July2016, forgot I had started it and not finished it... Hazard, that! Especially when you walk around with like 100 different doll projects in your head at any given moment. You forget which ideas have made it out of your mind, into photos and then into the blog. So... Better late than never, right? Haha!

I also ordered Sophia's doll hanger and brush set from Amazon. I love love love Sophia's doll items, always so top notch... The hangers are lovely... I don't think I'll order more now that I have figured out the cheapest option but if you don't want to make hangers, they are a great one to choose. You get 10 in the set along with the doll hair brush and a top-notch pair of doll panties and socks. not bad, all in all... However, with as many doll clothes as I have, that wasn't cheap enough! Enter Pinterest... I found a wonderful tutorial about how to make doll hangers from cheap dollar store hangers there! She mentions sanding down the hangers after you cut them but the pair of 'snips' my technician husband has in his tool box cuts them pretty cleanly and so I don't really need to sand mine...

Here are a bunch after they've been cut...

And my rather full doll closet looking spiffy with all of the clothes hanging so nicely! I love it! Can you imagine how much it would've cost me if I'd have bought only the pre-made kind of hangers? Crazy! So glad I found a better option.

Well, that's it for now doll friends!
Till next time!

New 18Inch Doll Closet for the Doll House!

**Written December 15, 2016**

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

It is driving me crazy having to post my photos without writing a proper blog at that same time because of my Blogger App issue on my phone that I told you about here. It is what it is though and if  it is the only way I am able to post, so be it. With that being said, on to the doll closet!

I am not sure if you recall or read back then but I made a doll closet as one of my very first doll projects. You can read all about it here. At the time, it was a great improvement over the storage I had been using for my doll clothes, which was a huge bag with them all thrown in willy-nilly. However, after time and using it, I was dissatisfied with the lack of space in it and the way I'd done the hangers, while useful if you don't have doll sized hangers in the house, started to annoy me with it's 'messiness' factor. So I'd been itching to do something new after we got moved and have been brainstorming it a while now... This is what I came up with.

Doll hangers are expensive!! I have purchased a couple of the kinds on the market to show you and will be back with that blog post at a later time. However, for the volume of doll clothes I have and wanted to hang, that was not really a possiblity because I am not spending the same amount on doll hangers as I could spend and get a really swell doll or ten depending on where I buy them! Um, no. So I had to find a cheaper option.

Enter Pinterest. What did we ever do before Pinterest? That's where I found this genius idea from the writer at Five Little Chefs blog! Genius!! I ran out and got a few packages of hangers at the Dollar Tree and then went back for a few more from Dollar General (they are actually cheaper, per hanger, from Dollar General and I am all about saving money!) In her blog, she mentions needing to sand them but my husband had a pair of snips that made a very clean cut with no rough edges and so I just left mine as is.

Here we have Sueretta and Shuri standing in front of the closet. It was an antique bookshelf in it's prior life, a bookshelf that belonged to my husband's grandma. I was reticent to use it for a doll closet until I got my husbands permission but he was totally cool with the re-purpose! Woot! I just got two dowels cut at my local hardware store and used the cup type holders at each end to hold them up. These are the sorts of holders I am talking about. I bought two sets, obviously. I measured the bottom one first with the longest of all my doll dresses to make sure the lower bar could hang my long dresses and the top bar I put as high up as possible and it is good for shorter dresses and shirts.

I love love love it because it shows all my pretty doll clothes off even when they aren't being worn. I had originally planned on putting up a curtain over the clothes with a tension rod but I have begun to think I might just leave it open because it's pretty, I think. What do you think?

Clearly I need to thin out my doll clothes collection. I have over a hundred dolls, all fully dressed when this was taken and still had this much to hang up. That's crazy. I actually pulled out about 10 or so of my least favorites and plan to put them up on eBay. Any money I get I can reinvest in dollies!! Woot!

That's it for now Doll Friends!!
Till next time!
