Recent Doll Finds At A Garage Sale & Thrift Store

Hi Doll Friends!

It’s been ever such a long time since I came to say hello. I’m so sorry to have been missing in action! It seems life has given me so many things to focus on that I just never do find the time to indulge in my doll hobby anymore. I always determine, at the outset of every week, to take doll photos or make a blog post. I even have it on my ‘to-do’ list! But invariably it seems to always get ‘bumped’ to the next week and now I’ve blinked and it’s been, what? A year? Yikes! Life sure does fly by!

So I am plunging in here with a post about some treasures  I found during a recent garage sale and thrift store shopping spree. First, I found two of the Disney ILY dolls! One at a garage sale and one at a thrift store. Both just happened to have on Stitch costumes, which made me laugh and decide it was a ‘meant to be’ happening. The first of the two is Tiana. She had her hair cut but so well that I had to ask the little girl who was selling her if she had come that way? I love her short curls! I got her for only a $1! The next one I got I am not sure exactly who she is? I guess she must be Anna from Frozen but I’m not sure. Whoever she is, she is lovely. She needs to hair sorted because she had never been removed from her Stitch costume and probably just thrown in a toy box to be forgotten until she was donated to the local thrift, where I found her. She still had the plastic fasteners attaching the costume to her head, which is how I knew she’d never been removed from it. So I am hoping to get them both cleaned up and dressed in regular street clothes soon!

Next, I found a Wellie Wisher, I got her for $2.99 I think… she is the blonde hair and blue eyed one named Camille. She actually rounds out my Wellie collection other than the little boy named Bryant. She wasn’t wearing a stitch of clothing when I found her so I dressed her in a dress from one of my Heart for Hearts dolls. She looks so much more comfortable for having an outfit on but still needs a spa day to get her cleaned up.

Then I found a Madame Alexander 13inch Belle Doll still in her box. She was a total impulse purchase just because she is so pretty! She was only $5 and looked so lonely on the shelf at the thrift store I found her in. So before I knew it, she was in my shopping cart and headed home to the Doll House.

Last but not least I found a plethora of 18inch doll shoes and accessories at one of the Garage Sales. I noticed one or two of the items in a big toy bin and commenced digging thru the bin until I found every single accessory in there! The person having the sale let me have all of it for $5!! Such a steal!

So, that’s my recent treasures! My poor Dollies are all in like a cryogenic sleep but I plan to wake them up eventually. Luckily Dollies are patient and I have them safe from dust! Pray I find more doll time soon! I’m currently selling items I find at thrift stores etc. across four selling platforms in addition to my part time job and… while I find it fun it takes a lot of time. I’d like to say I’m selling some of my dolls or doll items but I just never can seem to want to part with them. To be fair to them, I really should allow some of them to go to homes where they will get more attention but… then I’d invariably miss them as I always seem to when I re-home a doll!

Better run!
Hope this finds you having a lovely day!

Greetings Doll Friends! 400K and Lately At The Thrift Store!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

My goodness it's been a while since I got here to post. Non-doll life has just been keeping me hopping lately. Just here to say a quick Hi, show you what I've seen at the thrift lately and...
Drum roll...
Tell you that my little blog here just reached 400K views this month!

Now, mind you, I've never been about the 'numbers', I write it because I enjoy it and love to share the doll love with all you wonderful people. However, it is always fun to reach that 'next milestone' and when I started writing this years ago if you'd have told me that I'd ever reach 400K views, I'd have thought you were bonkers. Yet, here we are. Also, mind you, I know that in the big scheme of the internet, 400K is not really that big a deal... It's not 'viral' or anything. Still, it's a lot of fun for me to realize that 400K times, one of you lovely Doll Friends has visited and read one of my posts. That's just cool. So... Thank you my dear dear readers!! You are what keeps me coming back to post and hanging on to my dolls for when I (I am determined!) get back to a less busy and chaotic season in life so I can get back into the swing of posting more often.

Just for curiosities sake, I decided I'd go see what the numbers are right at this moment since the 400K happened on October 3rd... And it's already gained another couple of thousand. The internet is a full blown trip. Just cool how it can connect people who love the same things. I love it.

So lately at the thrift... I actually haven't gone as much these last few weeks... Did I mention life keeps me running? But the other day when I went I was blown away by how many 18inch dolls there were at my favorite thrift store. Unreal!

This little lady was oh-so-tempting...

So was this one... She has some ink on her face but I'm guessing that some zit cream might get it off.

I also saw a Tolly Tot! I do so love them!

Then I saw this Heart For Hearts Doll in her original meet outfit...
And, while I've basically sworn off buying dolls because I honestly need to thin my collection and not add to it... I couldn't help myself. She was only $3.99 and she came home with me.

I also saw this cool slot machine bank. At the height of my collecting and scene setting and photographing this baby would've gone right into my buggy and come home with me. However, I don't have the space I once did and obviously not the time either so... I left it there. So cool though!

Then I was shocked to see this! It's the Our Generation Movie Theater!! Oh boy was it ever hard not to bring this home but... I don't have any place to store it. But it is SO COOL! Maybe someday...
*sigh*

When I went to get the link for the movie theater what did I see?!?!

Oh. My. Goodness.
That is SO COOL.
Oh to have the room to store such a thing.
Again, maybe someday.

Now I know this is totally not doll related but look at these beautiful doilies I saw at the thrift as well. So so so pretty! I didn't buy any but I was tempted even though I have no reason on earth to even own such a thing. I don't even have a china cabinet anymore and the days of my collecting stuff I need to dust has long since past. Still, so pretty!

Ok fabulous Doll Friends, I better run! Thanks again for your readership! It means so much to me that ya'll so faithfully come and check out my little blog here. Ya'll rock!

Have a great weekend!

More Thrift Store Finds and Left Behinds...!

Doll Friends,

I am so behind on... Everything. This week was the first week of school for the kids and I've just run run run and still feel behind on everything. Am sure you can relate if you have kids!

Just a moment here but wanted to shout out about my recent thrift finds and left behinds...

First, the finds. I found these cute little baskets for only 50cents each. I think they'll look cool in a Farmers stand scene or something...

My daughter thought this one looked like a hat... Indeed, it kind of works! Here is Vicky Doll showing it off.

Here is Syracuse with a bench I found for only 50cents. I think the heart on it is funny! It's all lopsided. I think I like it more than normal boring hearts... I bet my own heart is lopsided too... LOL Kidding! But I like the funny charm of it.

Then there is the left behinds!
(AKA things I didn't buy but thought you might find interesting or that I might have bought if I had endless space and money! hahaha!)

I almost bought this.... But... Space...! I can't go buying a whole new doll size of display scenes. Although, as per my usual, I am kicking myself at I type this... It could've been a store display for the small dolls... Ugh. Oh well...

These Precious Moments Dolls were adorable but... Again... I don't need a whole new type of doll in the Doll House! I have bought some Precious Moments dolls in the past but I've since weeded them out... So... They sure are cute though!

More sad forlorn porcelain dolls...

These three little porcelain dolls were totally adorable though!! I don't buy porcelain or I'd have them right now... The face sculpt on them all is adorable!!

I bought this bench by the way... It was only 99cents. How could I not?

This is the mark on the neck of one of them... I can't even read it...?

This dresser was kind of cool...

But kind of nasty on the inside... I guess it could be cleaned up but...

For $9.99, I left it there.

Another kick me moment!! This fold up rocking chair is adorable and I should've bought it.
Ugh. Oh well... Can't buy 'all the things' can I?

Cute porcelain boy doll...

And two more...

This one rode around in my shopping buggy a while... Ultimately I put it back... As I look at it now I am like "Why??!?!" Hahaha! It would've been fabulous in an arcade scene!

I thought this was interesting... It was like a wall plaque. I probably should've bought it cos it would've been good for scenes but... Maybe it'll be there next time. It's kind of a strange item.

Cute but incomplete doll sized tea set.

A cute little pram (I should've bought! Why do I talk myself out of so many good things?!?) and a cute littel apple dresser...

Another cute dresser...

A cute doll bed...

And this little lady had the most compelling face... Don't you think?

I guess she wasn't that little... Probably 20inches tall... Pretty doll!

Gotta run!
Have a great weekend!
