Frann Sends Frann Doll and Friends To Live In The Doll House! (Part One)

Hi Doll Friends!!

I've been meaning to post about this for months and months... Being the perfectionist I tend to be, I wanted the post to be perfect and complete. I wanted to get a second set of photos done that just haven't happened yet. Finally, I've decided that perhaps if I post the first part of the story, it'll give me more inspiration to get the second half posted... 

So here I am, with the first part. 

A few months ago, my sweet and wonderful sister friend Frann sent me her Frann Doll so she could live in the Doll House! She's a beautiful doll, she's the twin to my Frann Doll but she's had a face up so she looks like my Frann with makeup on, applied by an expert.

She's just gorgeous!

At the same time Frann sent her Frann Doll she also sent me two other 18inch dolls she had in her collection who'd also had face ups... Here is the first one. She's so lovely. She's a Just Pretend Doll I'd sent to Frann quite some time ago that she had made over... So incredibly touched that she sent her back to live in the Doll House! It was so fun to see her again! 

Then she also sent me a third doll! This one is a Journey Girl Meredith who'd also had a beautiful face up by the same artist who'd done Frann Doll and the Just Pretend one. Isn't she just so pretty?!

 

Here is Heather Doll welcoming Frann Doll right after she arrived... She pulled out a Twinsy Doll dress for them both!

It was so fun to have them together! Almost like a visit from Frann herself! 

They just look so cute together with their identical dresses!

So, now that I've gotten this Part One posted it'll give me incentive to get the second set of photos done. I want to take photos of my Frann Doll and Frann's Frann Doll together... 

So... Stay tuned! I'll get that done as soon as possible!

Frann Visits The Treasure Trove Antique & Tea Shoppe!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

As I told you in my previous post we had snow in our sweet little town today... So Frann Doll decided to walk downtown and finally visit the Treasure Trove like she's been wanting to do since she first saw it driving by one day. She looked up the The Treasure Trove on Facebook and could tell it was a magical place! Sadly, Heather Doll wasn't able to join her in her adventure because she had other plans so she made Frann Doll promise to take her along next time! 

She knew the moment she walked in that she'd been right! The The Treasure Trove was magical indeed. She loved all the beautiful treasures, trinkets, dishes, glassware, crystal and jewelry and and and and and... Oh so many things to see!! She knew she would need to take her time in this beautiful shoppe or she might miss the perfect treasure for the Doll House or as a gift for a friend. She needed to buy a gift for Beth Doll and knew she'd find just the perfect thing here today.

She spotted what she had come in mind with right away! Vintage linens are one of Beth's favorite things! She'd have to look them over more closely after she browsed around more and choose the perfect ones for Beth. 

Everywhere she turned there was beautiful glassware, tea cups, dishes and every manner of thing you might need to set the most elegant and formal dinner party! 

This cabinet of gorgeous glass and stemware was like art to look at with the light coming through! So pretty with the amazing selection differently shaped formal wine or water goblets, champagne flutes, burgandy goblets. Frann also loved the little statue of the children with the little girl holding a doll. 

"Look! This chair is nearly my size!!"

How fun!! An antique toy phone!! Frann had to give it a try! Do you remember phones like this? 

Frann loves books and so she spent a little time glancing through the vast selection of vintage and antique books... So many to choose from! 

More stemware was displayed on this fabulous mirrored marble topped dresser and Frann just had to have a photo by it! The lamps are so perfectly displayed on the shelves that I imagine that must've been their original purpose. Frann noticed they had crystals on them which always remind her of the movie Pollyanna with Hailey Mills and how she strung the crystals in the window to make prisms. Have you ever seen it? 

Frann saw the tea sets and knew she'd be back some other time to pick one for the Doll House! One can never have too many tea sets in a house so full of girls to have tea parties afterall, right?

So many lovely sets to choose from!

An old school gumball machine!! Awesomeness. 

There was more downstairs!! Frann decided this is a store she would need to come back and visit often and so she wouldn't miss the treasure that was meant just for her!

Frann saw this dresser and said "Wouldn't this be great for accessories at the doll house?" Indeed... Indeed..

Just look at this!! A doll sized old fashioned phone as well! The Treasure Trove  has everything!

Frann Doll never imagined she'd make friends at the store!! She probably chatted with these gals for twenty minutes. She told them all about the Doll House and they told her all about their life in the store and where they'd all lived before. They were all great friends before Frann left. 

Frann loved this little statue of a wolf! The downstairs display room was so fun!

Just as she was about to go back upstairs to pick out linens she spotted more adorable doll sized items!! 

She went back upstairs and picked out two beautiful antique embroidered pillow cases, two embroidered tea towels for the kitchen, two vintage handkerchiefs and a sweet silver key chain for her friend Beth. She knows they'll be just perfect!

So if you ever happen to come to our neck of the woods, you must certainly stop in to The Treasure Trove yourself. The owner Patti is good people and will help you find just the perfect thing for your house or as a gift for someone you love. If you stop in before the end of the month she is having a sale on most everything in the store!! Tell her Frann says hi if you stop in!

Frann Starts A School At The Doll House!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

First off...! How embarassing! I didn't realize this 'draft' had posted before I even wrote anything! Yikes. Suffice to say that this past week has been a doozy and I guess I just hit the wrong button and viola, ya'll got a 'photos only' blog post. So sorry about that! All weeks have both their blessings and their challenges but this week was heavy on the challenges side of things. So, thank goodness it's the weekend!!

On to the blog post...!

As you may have already seen in just photos, this past week, Frann Doll started Frann's Korean Language Academy at the Doll House this week with smashing success!!

She even had a waiting list of dolls who didn't make it into her class! A couple of them even opted to just come anyway and study on the sofa's without a desk so they could join in. Frann was so happy and eager to get started!

Here is Frann Doll and Angela Doll at the beginning of class... You can see Electra Doll and Vicky Doll in the background. Angela and they are the ones who opted for the couch because all the desks and tables were already booked. The whole class booked up in less than a day and now there is a waiting list. Frann was so happy! She loves to teach and is so good at it.  

When she mentioned to Heather Doll that she'd like to have a Korean Language Academy she said all she really needed was paper, pens and enough copies of one book for all of her students to have a copy. They each needed their own copy so they could all work on translating the same things as a group but also take the books home to work there. Heather had a fantastic idea! She was a bit of a collector of Bibles because, well, Jesus is Heather's Dolls favorite! So whenever she is out shopping at Thrift Stores and see's a Bible, well, she can't help but to snatch it up. She was postive she had plenty of copies to go around to everyone and she was right! She even had spares in case Frann decides to have a second class of students. Hooray! So all they needed then was to have a sign up for the class... As I mentioned, it booked up almost immediately and she has nearly enough on the waiting list to start a second class! How exiting!

Well, there was Skywise. He was the very first to sign up and so he was one of only two students to get an actual study desk... There are only two in the doll house other than Frann Doll's Desk. 

The second to sign up was Tam Doll. She was so excited to learn a new language!

Then we have Bill Doll, Rachel Doll, Mary Doll and Twin Doll already opening their books at the start of class. Frann Doll decided they would start their translating practice with the Gospel of John because it is Heather Doll's favorite of all the Gospels and she knew she would get a kick out of it.

Speaking of Heather Doll, here she is with Josh Doll at the start of class. They signed up together and plan to be each other's study partners! Behind them you can see Tyler Doll and Handra Doll.

So everyone got started copying the translations they found on Google from John 1:1. Their assignment for the week was to write out the first two scriptures five times each just to get a feel for how to write the letters. 

Tam got started right away. She thinks the letters look so awesome and hopes her penmanship gets better as she learns.

Frann walked around the room helping everyone and checking their work. 

A few students decided to work on verbal pronuciation first as Frann told them this was an option as long as they had a partner to practice with. So Handra and Tyler decided to try and say the scriptures out loud to one another after listening to it several times on Google Translate.

Tam was making good progress on her writing and Skywise was nervous so, seeing Frann with another student, she went over and helped him get started. 

Frann was glad to see her students already working as a cohesive class! Only the first class and things were coming together beautifully!

Twin Doll is working on her printing and Frann comes over to encourage her.

She also listened to Tyler and Handra working on their pronunciation and thought they were doing pretty good for just uttering the words for the very first time in their lives.

Vicky and Electra decided that,since they didn't have a desk or table spot anyway, they'd work on pronunciation too. They were having quite a nice time practicing together. They loved the way the words sounded as they listened to them over and over again on Google translate and then tried to recreate them themselves.

Angela was a little too shy to join in trying to say the words but appreciated that Vicky and Electra didn't mind her just listening to them attempt to speak correctly.

So it was a lovely and successful first class! Everyone agreed it should be a regular weekly class and several of the students made plans to get together in between to study together. 

Frann is such a good teacher, before we know it the entire Doll House will be fluent in Korean! Or, at the very least, better at deciphering at least some of it and developing a better appreciation for such a beautiful language.
