Madame Alexander 18 Inch Doll Makeover Or Dolly Gets A New Wig

Hi Doll Friends!

One more post before I get ready for church... Ever notice I go in spurts? Haha! I told myself I'd write until 4pm and it's 3:59pm but now I've started, I might as well finish... Right?

It's been about a year ago that I found a Madame Alexander Doll at a Garage Sale for $1.00. I liked her well enough but already having two other blonde M.A. dolls, she just never saw much 'photo time', mostly just sitting collecting dust.

So as I was sorting through my dolls trying to decide which I really really loved (which, lets get real, is like 90% of them but...) and if she was one of them. Then I thought... "Hmmm... Wonder if she would look better with different hair?"

Since I was thinking I'd list her on eBay for next to nothing... I decided "Why not try a new wig on her?"

I absolutely LOVE the way she came out! Isn't she pretty!!

Ok! I have to run!!

Isn't it amazing the difference a wig can make??

Till next time!

HeartForHeart Doll Shoes On Ebay!

Hi Doll Friends!

Do you ever go with a hunch and it pays off?

I've seen these "16inch Disney Doll" shoes on eBay for a while... Wondered if they'd fit other doll feet? Decided to bid on them on a lark to see... Well!! They fit HeartForHeart dolls!! Almost perfectly!! I am so stoked!!

My HeartForHeart Dolls run around with no shoes all the time because most of them came to me 2nd hand and shoeless as the day they were born. (Haha) So I ordered another pink flats and a cute pair of tennis shoes and will order more when I haven't been spending too much again. Teehee Went on a bit of an eBay doll clothes buying spree recently as you may have noticed... Haha.

Aren't they adorable?? I know the pink shoes and the brown boots totally do not go with the outfits the dolls wearing them have on... But I was just throwing them on to show you how well they fit!

I forgot to post the photo of the auction listing so you can see it to find them yourself... I'll post in a minute from my phone!

**Update**
Here are listings for the shoes so you'll know what to search for:

Those were auction but they had BuyItNow for them too and that is how I bought the next pink flats and the tennis shoes:

Better run!

Vintage Mattel Emotions Cameo Body Transplant!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

I did a doll body transplant this morning! I've always loved this vintage Mattel Emotions Cameo Doll's face but her body was weird and never worked for photos etc... Still, I kept her cos she was so pretty and also because I named her Diane after my Mom. Since I did that, I've mostly gotten away from buying vintage dolls and have zero'd in on the 14 to 18 inch variety. It looks like I never gave her a proper review but you'll see in the photo's below what I mean by her having a weird body. She was 20inches tall and so always a tiny bit too tall for all the doll outfits I own and also she had those fabric legs that are impossible to stand on... Still... I was attached to her beautiful face because she does remind me of my beautiful Mom Diane.

Then, yesterday as I was weeding out my dolls I finally decided to get rid of the first Our Generation Doll I ever re-wigged (first doll I ever rewigged now I mention it). I've since learned that when it comes to wigs, you get what you pay for!! So her wig was lame

Then, as I glance at her in the Goodwill box (cos lets get real, it's not even worth it to eBay her with that dreadful hair!) I had one of those "light bulb goes on" moments and think "one doll who's body I don't like and one doll with a head/hair I don't like... Wait...!"

So I made a whole new doll with the parts I loved!

When I got the heads off, I found that the older doll had a strange plastic 'neck' coming out of her head... So I just removed a bit of the stuffing from the OG body to accomidate for the space it took up. I actually think that little bit of 'neck' makes her head more sturdy so I don't mind. Then I put a bit of extra stuffing in the old body before I put the OG head on it so it'd fit better...

I plan to donate the "soft vintage body with OG head" to Goodwill. Perhaps it'd make a good doll for a little girl who wants to sleep with an 18inch doll because the body is softer? Who knows... I'll let the next owner decide that. (I'll put a dress on her before she goes out the door)

See how the legs were longer and soft so she couldn't stand up at all, even with a stand really... Lame!

I just put in new zip ties in the necks... I wish I could find a place that sold zip ties with a smaller 'notch' but when the hair is down, you don't really notice anyway...

All stitched up!

I am totally stoked with how she came out!  I know her face complexion and the body complexion aren't perfect but I still love her.

Now she can wear all the other fashions and do photo shoots with the other dollies!!

So sweet! Do you see why I love her face?

Better run get ready for church tonight!
Till next time!

More Pretty eBay Dresses For About A Dollar!!

Greetings Doll Friends!!!

As I've mentioned in previous posts here and here and here in the past, you can often find 18 inch doll dresses on eBay for about a $1.00 each including shipping if you know what you're looking for. I hadn't browsed in a while and when I did recently, there were a few styles of dresses I'd not seen before. Fun!!

So following my regular routine of how I get dressses so inexpensively, I bid on a lot of them and ended up with a few at great prices. Crazy how sometimes you can get a dress for about a dollar and the next minute the same dress will sell for like $4.00 or more! Oftentimes you can find the exact same dresses or outfits on Amazon for around $10.00 too so it just goes to show that you should always dig for the best deal!

The burgandy dress Beth (Gotz) is wearing above was only like 26cents!! It's really pretty!! I have a pink version of the blue one and was stoked to get another in blue.

There are several prints of both this sleeveless 'mermaid' hem dress (I think that's what it's called?) and the long sleeved version that could also be used as a nightgown I think. These styles both have zippered closures in back which I love, especially in silky material because velcro snags it and ruins it eventually... They are made really well especially considering the price!!

When the pretty dresses arrived the girls couldn't wait to try them on and have a tea party!!

Again, I need to iron...

Here they all are, having tea!

Noel (My Life As) decided to run and try on the pink one to go with Cat's (LOTUS) blue one. This dress has a veclro closure... Still, it's super cute on.

As you can see, I paid around a $1.00 to $1.25 for each of them, including shipping! So totally amazing!!

I also bought a few of these body suits (above) which are like leotards (I had to put some pants on her! Modesty!)

I also got this great "SuperGirl" Dress... Although, as you can see, the S is on backwards and then the sticker came off all together!! Oy! Luckily, at least, the dress wasn't damaged by the sticker so I plan to find another S for Superman to put on there. I got the BDUs (Battle Dress Uniform) because both of these dolls are Doppleganger dolls of friends of mine who are in the US Army. So I had to have uniforms for them!

Here is a photo of my last round of inexpensive eBay dresses... I am getting quite a collection! So... Go look for some dresses on eBay for your dollies! You're bound to find something cute and for a great price if you just look!

Till next time!

Another eBay Dress And Dolly BDUs For Soldiers!

Greetings Doll Friends!

As you may know if you read this blog regularly, I have been on a bit of an eBay Doll Clothes buying spree lately... Had a bit of a windfall of cash to play with (i.e. Mad money from my husband who likes to spoil me silly) and have so much fun "hunting" good deals on eBay. At the prices I find them for, they are nearly as cheap as UpCycled doll clothes... I figure not every Mom (of daughters who love dolls or of dolls themselves) out there has the time or desire to sew, so I have to think of them too! Right?

This dress was one of the more recent styles I've seen on eBay lately... They looked really pretty in the eBay photo but you never know...? It's gorgeous isn't it?! Kylee looks like a Hollywood starlet!

This one came packaged a bit differently than all the other eBay dresses I've bought in the past. It came in a flat package (think letter) that opened out like this.

It looks like the dress was originally made for a baby doll! However, it fits like it was made just for 18" dolls so I can see why the seller marketed it to them. Clever!

As you can see, I got the dress for $1.25 and shoes for $1.27 including shipping and so the whole pretty outfit was only $3.02! Nice!

I got some other shoes and boots in mail that day too... Also got them for great prices. The leg warmers in middle (three pairs) must've been a gift because I didn't order them. Nice!!

I must've really liked these pink boots... I paid a whole $3.50 for them. Haha. They are adorable!

The other thing I've been ordering when I find them cheap is this BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) outfit. I grew up as an Air Force Brat and my husband was Army the first four years we were married... So suffice to say I know a LOT of military people. One of them is my brother Ash. This is him in the BDU outfit I got the other day...
He is with Carissa (my sister in law doll) and she is wearing a white leotard I got for 10cents under her off the shoulder Hello Kitty Tshirt! It works perfectly for that!

Ash is also wearing one of the pairs of socks I got in this grab bag lot. Cute huh?

I ordered a few of the leotards in different colors. Some I got for like 10cents and some I went up about a $1 for. I got a striped one as well... I think they can work as swim suits too!

Well... That's it for now!
Till next time!

PS aren't they cute? They are just as cute in real life.
