Style Girls 18 Inch Dolls At Big Lots!

Happy Friday Doll Friends!!

I stopped in to Big Lots the other day when I was out and about and went looking in their toy department to see what doll items they might have. I was delightfully surprised at the great selection they had for 18 inch dolls in their Style Girls Dolls!

I had to keep telling myself I didn't need a new doll... I have a couple of Style Girls and since I have so many dolls, I need to stop keeping multiples of every single doll line! Eh?

They really are very pretty dolls especially for only $20. I am sad to report I didn't check them out as good as I might've if I'd had more time. I didn't even notice until this morning as I'm writing this and posting the photos that the 18 inch ones have actual names... I can't recall if the one I bought so long ago had a name? In any case I feel bad because I didn't think to take a photo of every box, just every doll face. *sigh* I also forgot to check and see if they had soft bodies or fully plastic ones? So if any of you happen to go see them perhaps you can report in comments?! With that being said, here is what I saw:

The eyes on these dolls are gorgeous!! I mean, like, drop dead gorgeous. I think this little gal (above) was my favorite of all of them.

She's a twin to her but she has different hair style...

This poor little gal looks like her mother cut her bangs and not so well...

A couple of them had marks on their faces like the one above...
Not sure if it would come off or what it is?

I think this girl had her face smashed in somehow?
It looks more narrow than the others and... Just a little 'off'. What do you think?

Here are the 14inch ones. Same one's I've seen before but with different outfits. They are $15 each.

They had cute outfits for them though!

They also had a lot of accessories for the dolls! They had the workout set (above).

A laptop set.

Or a baking set for $6 a set.

They also had clothes! They had two sets of four outfits for $28 which were adorable and if I didn't have doll clothes running out my ears, I might've bought them. I noted that the tshirt (above) that says "LOVE" on it had the same design on a shirt I got a few years ago from My Life As Doll in one of their multiple outfit packs. Makes me wonder if these were made by same company?

They had a doll bed that reminded me a lot of the old My Life As Doll bed I have in turquiose. I wonder if they'd stack? The ones from My Life As Doll now are thinner... Hmmm...

They had these cute plush chairs for $12.

And doll sleeping bags... Don't recall price and it isn't in photo. Drat.

They also had $8 outfits that come with shoes! There is the ballet one that is in photo of the workout set above and these four.

I also saw this baby doll set. The outfits are fabulous!

I better run!

Journey Girl's Photo Shoot Last Week

Hello Again Doll Friends!
I got an unexpected pocket of time and I figured I'd say hi again!
Last week I took a few of the Journey Girls out for a photo shoot!
Or rather I brought some Journey Girls along with me on my job and then found a photo op place!
So here are a few of the photos. I took droves but never want to be obnoxious here by posting so many... Perhaps that's silly? Generally I make YouTube videos of them at some point and put ALL the photos in those!

It was really windy that day but the sun was out... So I found an area of landscaping with bushes in it at the edges of a grocery store parking lot and did my best. The bushes kind of blocked the wind as well as being an nice background! I could not, for the life of me, get three dolls to stand up and stay standing at one time... So I gave up trying. I got a few good shots of these gals though. I love how their hair is blowing in the wind in this one. I wish I could report the names of these lovely girl on the left but alas, I don't think she's ever been named. I eventually decided to just let Giovanna keep her original name. Poor gal has been through several wigs but this one finally got glued on. Don't ask me what on earth made me decide to cut of her beautiful hair in the first place?! LOL I guess I get on a bit of a 'customizing' blitz sometimes. Huh? In any case I think she's lovely with this hairstyle.

Isn't she lovely? I rewigged her because she was a second hand doll and I already had one Kyla in my collection already. I bought like ten of these wigs off eBay when I found them once. I knew they'd be a short lived thing at the prices I got them for! I think they are authentic American Girl Doll wigs but can't say for sure. They had the little oval sticker and they are top notch quality and the seller I get them from generally has misc. American Girl Doll items and that's where these came from. I digress... So that's where this wig came from. Isn't she beautiful in it?!

This is the same wig style in a light blonde on Giovanna

Karen hasn't been changed since I got her... She's lovely just as she is!

I better run! Pocket of time has been spent!

I finally got my Halloween window set up at the Doll Store last week.
I'm just getting here to show it to you!
No time just now but wanted to say a quick hi!
I have like five posts I am gradually working on and endless others I've not even started yet but that are in my brain and needing to get done. Haha. So no worries Doll Friends! I continue to hope I'll fall back into a regular rhythm in my life and I'll be more consistent in posting!

Have a fantastic rest of your weekend!

My Life As Doll Scientist Doll Came Home & Then Went Back To Walmart!

Hi Doll Friends!!

Oy! Holy Technical Problems Batman!
I've been trying to get this blog posted for a couple of days. I had the great idea of trying to start posting from the road via a tablet... I installed Blogger and had this entire blog post written up and ready to go. After much aggrivation and annoyance actually and then... Nothing. I wouldn't post. When I come to Blogger here on my laptop, the draft isn't even there. So, so much for Blogger's App. It stinks like yesterdays diapers. Oh well... Enough about that.

My sweet husband listens to me and when I mention a new doll I am interested in he will oftentimes surprise me with one... Much like a husband bringing his wife flowers but I like dolls. So... When he heard me talking about the new Scientist Doll at Walmart he decided to get me one.

I was so excited and set about opening her up to show ya'll right away...

Here are close up photos of the accessories she comes with....

And a few more....

and even more...

Here is the photo on the back of the box... I haven't seen the other Scientist Doll in real life before.

More photos from back of box...

And  a photo of some of the current season's dolls. There are some cute outfits but I don't see the new face sculpt on any of them...? How strange.

And I love the new sculpt!

When I got her out of the box the first thing I noticed was her hair... What is up with this My Life as Doll? It's so sparsely plugged that it looks ridiculous! Why?!

I didn't notice this until I tried to stand her up but... She was defective! One of her legs was like an inch shorter than the other one and bent inwards...?

Now I've kept 'defective' dolls before... But, given my utter horror and dissatisfaction with her grossly under-plugged hair, I decided she was going back to the store.

Isn't it terrible!

Another sweet thing my husband did when he bought the doll was, when he heard me talking about the new items at Walmart, he also heard me say that I didn't get to take photos of the display for my post because they hadn't stocked it yet... So... He took some photos of it for me! What a swell guy!

He took them of both sides! Fabulous!

As you can see, it wasn't fully stocked that day either but it was much better than totally empty!

When I went back to take the doll back I took more photos of the newer things more close up... Here is a candy machine...

And this blogging set called to me but I wasn't sure I needed or wanted it for sure... As I type this I am thinking to myself 'why'??? I could've gotten it with the returned doll money (That I totally spent on doll stuff, lets get real!) but I bought three of the small accessories sets instead!

Here is another new item. Cute idea! Animal Rescue!

Dog houses!

Fooseball! Actually it's a five in one game play set...

And in case you don't want the Scientist Doll but like her clothes, they have a set you can buy separately! It's not exactly the same but the skirt has that cute fabric of the Scientist Doll's dress.

This is a cute candy themed set!

And this is fabulous! I don't think I'll buy it because I already have many of the components!

Ugh! Out of time!
More in next post! Including which sets I bought!!
