New Dolls In The Doll House; Maplelea and Me Doll and Heidi Ott Little Ones!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends,

This blog post has been in the works for months and months... I've been struggling to keep up with 'regular' life (you know, working, laundry, dishes, grocery shopping and that sort) and my poor little blog here has taken the hit in neglect. I am often writitng blog posts in my head and have oh so many of them planned or partially done but... Well... I am hoping that someday I'll get back in the swing of things and be more regular in posting again.

On to the post though... Upon discovering late last year that Maplelea Doll Company was going to update its line of Maplelea Friends Dolls to the new Maplelea and Me Dolls I knew that time was limited for me to be able to pick up my wish list dolls from that line. So, upon getting some money for my Birthday last November, I decided to pick one up before she was gone. (Which she is now...) I mean there are a lot of really pretty dolls in the lineup now but... I wanted this one. She's got the same face sculpt as the Maplelea and Me Doll I got in October of last year. So beautiful!!

So the poor dear has been sitting around in her 'meet outfit' for months and months waiting for me to take her first portraits! Heather Doll got changed into the same outfit so they could be 'twinsy' dolls for the photos. So, I finally got them taken yesterday!

I haven't named her yet... I'm leaning towards Kathy because she really reminds me of a friend of mine who has that name.

She and Heather Doll decided to have a Tea party by the fire with a pretty cake.

Since I am so far behind on posts, I decided to make this posting about another doll purchase I made late last year as well, on eBay. I have loved Heidi Ott Little One's Dolls ever since I bought one for my collection years ago. However, they are usually very expensive and had to find! They were on my eBay watchlist though and low and behold this really cute sibling set showed up for auction, both new in their boxes (which I apparently forgot to take a photo of somehow?!)... They were priced at $49.99 for both of them, including shipping! Which is not nothing but it was a really great price and so I put in a modest bid amount and... I won!! I got them for the $49.99! I was stoked!

They are so adorable! Here they are meeting Kathy!

So, so fun to get new doll's in the Doll House!!
Do any of you have either the Maplelea and Me Dolls or The Heidi Ott Little Ones in your collection? If so, leave a comment and let me know!

I better run!

A Tale of Two Willow Dolls; Twins for the Doll House

Greetings Doll Friends!!

As you may recall, I recently got a new Our Generation Doll Arwen (Aka Willow) as a sweet gesture of my husband because I missed my dolls (I've accumulated a kind of crazy amount since then... I think I may need intervention? I digress).

Recently, on one of my Thrift Shop outtings, I ran into this beauty!

Well, she wasn't in all that beautiful a shape when I found her though, I'll admit! She looked like this:

Actually not all that bad, a bit dirty and her limbs are rather loose in a 'well played with' kind of way. Her hair was a train wreck!!

I wasn't even sure if I'd be able to get it untangled! But after a lot of brushing out (from bottom to top!) and did the hot water dunk.

Look at that hair?!!??!!

She came out beautiful!!

When I first got her, I thought she was identical to my Arwen (Willow) doll. After I got her all cleaned up though, I realized they were just a tiny bit different. Arwen (Willow), my purchased new one, has bendable arms and legs and her hair and eye color was just a tiny bit darker than the thrifted one. My first thought when I found her was that I'd clean her up and sell her or gift her away but now that I have her all cleaned up, I kind of like the idea of having twin dolls. They are fraternal twins obviously because they are not exactly alike, but close enough! So she needed a name...

I named her Tracy after a life long friend from High School.

So here is Tracy with Camille (a Famosa Nancy) and Arwen.

Some of the rest of the girls wanted to jump into the photo for a group photo! Ha!

That's it for now!
Till Next Time!

Heidi Ott Little Ones 8inch Doll as Baby Sister In the Doll House

Hi there Doll Friends!!

I think I've mentioned, but I love Heidi Ott dolls. I only own one, the Target variety Faithful Friends Beth. She really is a nice doll for the price point they originally charged for her and I am so glad to have her in my collection.

Heidi Ott also produced a more upscaled doll line called Heidi Ott Little Ones. They range in size from 8inch babies to 12-13inch 'children' dolls. They are a gorgeous line of dolls that I've admired but never thought of owning one of because they are rather expensive on eBay. I kept them in my saved searches though, just in case some off chance one might find it's way to my price range.

I really would have liked to get one of the 12-13inch dolls and may get lucky and get one someday but this little sweetheart showed up and I just couldn't stop thinking about her. I don't normally 'do' baby dolls, just not my thing... But she, I thought, would be a perfect scale to be a baby sister in the doll house. I have several 'little sisters' in my collection, my dolls range from 12inches to 20inches, but have never had a 'baby' in the doll house.

Look at her! How could I not? I got her for less than $20!

Her wig is made with real human hair! (There is a reason these dolls cost so much even when produced!)

Love that the back of the box only had string to untie. Untie the two knots and she is out of the box!

Here is her hang tag.

Check out that price from like 20years ago! So, clearly, I got a good deal.

And look how perfect she is as a baby sister to the dolls!

I'll have to work on posing her better.... but so cute!

Some of dolls crowded in and had to ooh and aww over the baby.

Amy gave her a piggy back ride! Pretty sure Amy is gonna be one of Heidi's favorites. That's right, I named her Heidi after Heidi Ott. Seemed fitting.

Amy think's she is going to like having a baby sister to play with.

Now for the particulars of the doll.

She has a soft body stuffed with bean bag type material. She has soft vinyl limbs and face and a human hair wig.

She has a neck string kind of like American Girl Dolls.

She is so well made!

Here is stamp on her neck.

The clothes were, of course, top notch!

What sets expensive dolls apart from more mid priced onces, I think, is details to things like hands and feet. Check them out! So cute!

Look at the little finger nails!
