Oriana and Stephanie Twinsy Outfits!!

Hi Doll Friends!

As I mentioned in a previous post when Oriana saw the Doll Closet  she knew immediately she'd come to live at the right Doll House. She set to planning a Fashion Show immediately! As she was looking through all the amazing clothes, she called over to Stephanie Doll "Look! I found us Twinsies Outfits!! Let's change into them right now!!"

These are the outfits she found. Aren't they just adorable. Ironically enough, they happen to be made by the talented Goofy who they'd already decided to feature as the designer for the Fashion Show they were planning. Perfect! They're the first to be dressed for the show too!

They just looked so cute and smart in their Twinsies Outfits. Just alike enough to look like twinsies but just different enough so they can both still have their own 'look'. Perfect! Stephanie and Oriana think they will be great friends and are so glad that they came to live in the Doll House around the same time.

As you can see, I couldn't stop taking photos of them because I thought they looked so cute. I was also playing around with lighting... I am trying to get better indoor photos by manipulating the light in different ways. Do you have any tricks to get good photos indoors?

Our Generation Limited Edition Aurelia Arrives At Doll House

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

I have a cold right now so it was super nice surprise for my Our Generation Aurelia to be delivered today instead of tomorrow like I thought she would be.

Aurelia is definitely a case of a doll who's more beautiful out of the box. because I won't lie, her photos on Target website and photos I'd seen on Facebook Doll Fan Pages made her seem a bit otherwordly and perhaps a bit too much so to really fit in at the Doll House. However when Oriana  arrived and was so utterly beautiful, I decided I would bite the bullet and buy Aurelia too. Her outfit and the box would be worth the clearance price of $29.99 afterall...

I am so glad I did!! Here she is in the box she came in... I laughed that they sent her in such an oversized box but perhaps they just wanted to make sure the tin didn't get dinged up. Nice touch.

She was also wrapped in a plastic bag like Oriana was when she arrived. 

I knew I was glad I got her the moment I saw her little face in person the first time. She is so beautiful!!!

I know she's got quite a bit of makeup on for a little girl but if you've ever been to a ballet recital, you know stage makeup is intentionally dark and dramatic. Being as the outfit she is in could only be a dance recital costume, it makes sense she would have stage makeup on for her recital. She also has 'bronzer' on her shoulders... I think her costume looks like she's supposed to be some manner of Forest Fairy Folk or something, don't you?

Here she is in her box. Like Oriana, she came in a posh pink collector tin. 

I plan to use the tins as extra ways to carry the dolls when I take them out until I get more doll suitcases because I think they'd keep the doll very safe and secure. They will also make great storage boxes for doll accessories after I do get a few more doll suitcases too, eh?

It was super easy to get her out of the box once I took all the little circle 'tapes' holding her cardboard enclosure in. It was literally three snips of the scissors and out she came. 

"And she's out of the box!!" as they say on the Mommy & Gracie Show when they review a doll.

Here she is with Oriana. My husband and I both agree we think they have the same face sculpt... Do you think so? It's amazing how big a difference hair and makeup can make with regards to a doll's face sculpt huh?

One thing I love about these Limited Edition dolls is how poseable they are! Totally different than standard Our Generation Dolls and unlike any other Our Generation Doll in my collection so far. 

So she makes a really great ballet dancer.

Her face is so expressive!! 

I've decided to name her after my cousin who I've been searching for a doppelganger doll for because she really does favor her and my cousin lived in dance class from when she was little bitty! 

So Stephanie will be her name after my cousin who is next my junior on my father's side of the family. 

I think this photo is my favorite if those I took so far... Isn't her profile just striking? I love her beautiful hair too... Red and blond highlights and so long! I think I'll leave it in it's pretty fancy pony tail for a while because I doubt I'll ever be able to re-create it once I take it down. I haven't changed her out of her costume yet because her shoes are stitched to her tights and I got lazy... I am sure I'll change her into street clothes tonight and be back to show you how she looks soon. 

So... I have to say I think that these dolls are just an amazing deal for the $29.99 I got them for! I honestly won't even say I think they weren't worth the full price of $59.99 although perhaps they wouldn't have been to me personally. Perhaps I have a bit more tight doll budget than some people though. (I like to stretch my doll dollars as far as possible!! If you know what I mean?) They only made 3,000 of each doll so if you're wanting to get one, you might want to jump sooner rather than later while they still have them on the Target website. Once they are gone, eBay tends to make things even more expensive than original prices even. Nature of limited quanities I suppose... But for now, they are still up there (I just checked again and they both are as I am writing this).

Oriana Arrived At The Doll House!!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

As I mentioned in my recent post I ordered the Limited Edition Our Generation Doll named Oriana about the moment I realized they'd marked her half price from her original $59.99. I'd read a review of her online and so expected she'd be pretty nice but nothing could've prepared me for exactly how top-notch everything would be! 

I think she is probably the most beautiful doll I've ever seen for only $30.00! Her outfit alone is probably worth the $30.00 because it's top notch! The metal tin box she comes in is very heavy and will be amazing for storage or even transporting dolls I think. Her head and arms are more poseable than standard OG Dolls. Her eyes are fixed (meaning they don't close) which is also different than standard OG dolls. I am pretty sure they made an entirely unique face scuplt for her as well! 

She arrived in an outter shipping carton and was in this sturdy plastic bag when I pulled her out of that box. 

You can't really tell from looking at the photo but she comes in a very sturdy tin collectors box... It's very heavy tin and will be great for storing doll items or perhaps even as a traveling box for dolls I take out on the go because they'd stay nice and safe in this tin for sure.

I thought she was pretty online and in photos but I was blown away by how pretty she really is in person!!

She looks almost like a doll I used to own in my collection a Vintage Suzanne Gibson-Reeves Lucy Locket doll because of her pale hair and bright blue eyes. I've since weeded out most all dolls from my collection that aren't the modern 18inch doll type though because my collection was quickly getting out of hand. Teehee. Having 'only' one sort of doll (I focus on 14-18inch play dolls) sort of keeps me out of trouble. Right?

Here is the lid of the tin which came opened so you can see the doll inside... Very pretty pink with yellow hearts all over it. 

As you can see Oriana comes with: 1 doll, 1 crown, 1 dress, 1 corset, 1 pair of undies, 1 pair of shoes, one Limited Edition certificate and 1 tin keepsake box.

Every aspect of her costume was very posh and well done. 

Unlike standard OG Dolls, Oriana can turn and tilt her head in all manner of cute poses. 

Her white dress has a 'peek-a-boo' panel in the middle so you can see her cute shoes as she walks. 

Speaking of her shoes, they are made as well as any American Girl doll brand shoes I've ever seen... Just perfect!

Her corset is made out of a sort of soft plastic and ties in the back. So unique!!

I think it'd look cool over other fancy dresses too...? I'll have to try it out on some soon...

After removing her crown, I turned it upside down from how it was displayed and I think it looked much more regal...

I just couldn't stop taking photos of her... So pretty!

I changed her in to the beautiful white wedding dress I got as a gift from Frann because I thought it would suit her and I was so right... Doesn't she look pretty?

I then changed her into a more modern outfit but didn't get photos taken because my head cold insisted it was time I go to bed... However I did get some photos between the first two outfits of her unique body. Standard Our Generation Dolls are made very similar to American Girl Dolls in that they have a torso that is made out of fabric with vinyl arms, legs and head. Oriana is wholly different than that and more in line, I think, with dolls like a Carpatina doll or a Just Pretend Doll. Here are the photos:

She has an interesting torso... It looks like she does crunches every morning to stay in good shape! 

She came in undies and I left them on to keep her somewhat modest but....

She has the cutest little bottom!

All in all, I am so glad I brought Oriana home to the Doll House. I think she will fit right in! As I mentioned in the other post about her, I was, at the time, thinking of ordering her 'sister doll' Aurelia and, as you may have predicted, I totally did. She is supposed to arrive next Tuesday! I was excited to see her before I got Oriana but now I really can't wait because I know she'll be just as top notch and unusual. How fun!
