Sasha Doll Leaves The Doll House

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

One of my most amazing thrift store finds has been when I found a Sasha Doll at Goodwill. I was so stoked! I had always dreamt of owning one and to actually have that dream come true, amazing. However, sadly, for whatever reason, the poor dear really just sits on my doll shelf collecting dust. I actually told my husband I thought I'd pack her away because she was 'too nice to leave out collecting dust' and he, quite rightly, told me 'Why is her sitting in a box any better? Accidents and wear can happen in boxes too.' Quite right, quite right. Still, as much as I admire her and am amazed I ever found her, I never really 'fell in love' with this doll. Maybe because I am always extremely careful with her when I touch her, fearful she'll fall apart or something. Which is silly because she's made very very well. Hence them being worth a few coins. So after a lot of consideration, I decided I would try and 're-home' her to someone who might appreciate her more.

She's currently listed on eBay on a BuyItNow for $99.99 plus calculated shipping. I know I know, that's loads more than what I got her for. But if I am going to part with her, it's going to be in order to reinvest in my doll hobby and so I don't think I could let her go for any less than that. Maybe if someone shot me an offer I'd consider going down a smidge but... I think it's a fair price.

She really is a pretty doll and in really great shape. Her joints are all very tight and she can pose really well.

You can see down through to her hair roots on top but I don't think she's lost hair? Because her hair is really pretty thick and lovely.

See, just lovely.

Sorry for the nude photos but I don't think I ever showed her to you properly when I got her and I don't think I've posted about or photographed her much ever again either. See why I think it's only fair, to her, to let her go to someone who will be thrilled everytime they look at her? So this might be the last chance I get to show you what her body is like and how well articuated she is. There is a reason these beautiful dolls held their value.

See how well she holds her arms up? I am not sure if she has her original stringing or if she's been restrung but in any case, her limbs are tight and I could probably have had her do the classic handstand if I'd have thought about it.

I decided to have her meet and stand next to my Lilly American Girl Doll. That is usually what I get request for when I have a doll that is nearly the same size. They could totally be room mates or friends and it kind of makes me regret not having involved her more in the Doll House but... It is what it is. Who knows, maybe she won't sell? If not, I'll know she's meant to live with me for sure! Haha!

If you're interested in her, here is the linky to her listing on eBay.

Better run!

**UPDATE**
October 9, 2017

She sold last week! I used the proceeds to buy the Target Diner for the Doll House! That is a link to the YouTube about it but I plan to write a blog post too! I am so happy of the 'trade' and hope that the Sasha doll has a long happy life with her new owner.

BFC Ink Clothes for Sasha Doll Zoey

Hi there Doll Friends!

Recently the kids and I went to the Flea Market and stopped into our favorite vendor, a lady who sells random toys. She often has Littlest Pet Shop toys in either bags or by the eaches to make my daughter happy and often has Lego Mini Figures for my son. She also often has random doll clothes that she generally charges about 50cents a peice for! So I always ask her about doll clothes. Her son brought out this set. She said it was a $1. SOLD. I wasn't even sure who it would fit, if any, of my dolls but it was such a cute outfit, I figured it would fit someone! Helps to have a bit of a diverse doll collection. Teehee.

As I was glancing through my dolls and glancing at the outfit, I immediately noticed how perfect it would be in size for Zoey, my Sasha doll. In case you haven't read the story of her homecoming, you can find it here. She will probably always be one of my most amazing 'finds' and I will never ever get rid of her! Love her to bits.

The amazing part is the shoes fit like they were made for her!! So cute! I had to know more about this outfit?! It fit so well, I thought "Whoever it was made for, I am certain they made more!" and so I did some research, starting with the stamped letters in the shoe. The internet is an amazing place because in no time at all, I had found this:

It was a set made for the BFC Ink Dolls. They are hard to find clothes for and so I am pretty sure unless I find another random set at a thrift store, garage sale or flea market, this will be my only set. Bummer! I wanted to get Zoey more shoes!

Look how well they fit!

This little bit of information is what helped me find it. Did I mention the internet is awesome?

Here is a photo of a BFC Ink doll wearing the shoes. I actually own this doll and own that little swimsuit. In storage. *sigh*

Isn't she lovely in it!? Such a fun find!

Till Next Time,

Vintage Sasha Doll Thrift Store Find!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

Look what I found yesterday at Goodwill! A Sasha doll! I've wanted one as a "sister" to my AG and OG dolls forever but you can't touch them for less than like $150 on eBay. I got her for $3.99!!! I literally jumped up and down when I found her. Haha. So totally stoked!

She even came in clothing! Any one piece of the clothes would probably fetch $3.99 on eBay. Not that we will ever know for sure because I am not selling them! Teehee.

She is in great shape! I am not sure how to tell what year she was made because there are no markings on her. I have a doll dress pattern book (the best ever made, it has patterns enough to totally dress any size doll completely!) that features Sasha dolls as models throughout it and I fell in love with them the moment I saw them when I bought the book in 1994! Link:

See? I've loved dolls all my adult life!

I decided to name her Zoey.

Here she is, cleaned up and hanging out with Seane and Tracy, my two new Our Generation dolls.

She is gonna be a great addition to the Doll House! My husband teased me and said "if she is worth so much, why not sell her and buy six other dolls?" But I was like "Never!" I mean, I would and will probably never pony up over $100 for a doll, like he says, I could get four dolls for that (being me) at minimums and that's just too hard a trade off for me. We do have two American Girl Dolls in the house but they both belong to my dear daughter and were gifts from Grandparents.

I decided to research Sasha dolls a bit for the sake of this blog post and ran across these photos of some dolls that were recently sold on eBay and I found fascinating because you can see exactly how they came back when they were new. Such beautiful dolls! I found a lovely video of a woman sharing her collection on YouTube that was fun to see too. I'll post link later, I am having a issue doing links from iPad this morning.

This doll looked the most like my Zoey.

But they are all lovely.

That's it for now Doll Friends! Till next time!
