Thanksgiving At The Doll House!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

Happy Black Friday!! I hope this finds you having a lovely day... If shopping today is your thing, I hope you found all the deals you were looking for! If staying away from stores and relaxing is your thing, I hope you have had a great day doing that! I have to work today and so I am rushing here to show you the photos of the Doll House on Thanksgiving yesterday!

Here are Josh and Heather posing by the beautiful Thanksgiving Dinner they had prepared... Yes, Josh likes to cook! Thank goodness because Heather cooks more because she has to than because she likes to. (She likes to play with dolls and write blogs too! She's a mini-me afterall! Right?) Heather always cleans up the kitchen when Josh cooks though so it's great team-work.

The candles make it look so festive!!

We didn't have a huge guest list this year... We wanted Frann and Saila to enjoy their first Thanksgiving as a small, relaxed family affair. Frann is from Korea and Saila is from Canada and so they were both excited to try out all the yummy food.

Josh gave a toast "To Thanksgiving and having lovely friends at our table to share it with!". Then he said a prayer and thanked God for the meal, our family and friends, our wonderful country and all the many blessings we have been given. I obviously didn't photograph the prayer as I was bowing my head as he said it...

The meal was wonderful! I only got shots of just it was getting started before Josh carved the turkey because I had to tuck in and enjoy a little plate myself! (Kidding!)

Here are Lilly and Saila during the toast.

"Cheers!"

Josh and Heather were so happy that the Thanksgiving dinner seemed to be a success!

You may notice that there is not a pumpkin pie on the table... Per the kids' request, we had alternate desserts this year because Vito really doesn't like Pumpkin pie so we made a pretty chocolate cake for him to be happy and since we were going a bit different, Lilly decided a Cherry Tart was what she'd like... I think next year we'll get some pumpkin pie as well even if we do go with alternates because Josh and Heather missed it. Not to mention they were so embarrased not to have any for Frann and Saila to try! They promised to have some at Christmas and to have them try it then!

Lilly was very proud of the asparagus bundles... She'd done them herself. They were delicious!

Here are Saila, Heather and Frann in their pretty Thanksgiving outfits before everyone sat down to dinner...

Notice the kids while they were posing for the photo... This is how they looked much of the day... Teenagers! (Haha! Kidding... I know all the dolls are supposed to be 'child aged' but these two dolls are doppleganger dolls for my own two kids who are teens...LOL)

But this is how my real kids looked most of the day when we weren't eating... Can't really complain too much I suppose as I sit on a laptop typing this blog. I suppose it's just the world we live in. Right? I digress....

I really hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to a relaxing 'first weekend of the Christmas season'!! I am so thankful to have you as readers and to have the fun and exciting blessing of being able to write this blog. So... Thank you, dear doll friend reader, for you! May God Bless you richly all the coming year!!

Much Love!

Birthday Slumber Party At The Doll House!!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

Since it was Heather Doll's Birthday and a huge windfall of Birthday clothes had recently arrived at the doll house, including PJs, the dolls decided a Birthday Slumber Party was in order...

Here are Heather Doll, Jen Doll, Myfanwy Doll, Patricia Doll and Susannah Doll at the party eating cake... Heather is about to open a gift from Josh Doll. He obviously couldn't come to the party because it's a slumber party of girls!

"Hmmm... What is this? Such pretty colors..."

"How cute!! Thanks Josh Doll!!"

"How does it look?"

Heather Doll knew not everyone liked the same sort of cake and so she served a variety of cup cakes for the party... They were a big hit!

As you may have noticed, Frann Doll hadn't been able to make it to the party because of other plans that had come up.... But then her plans changed again to later in the evening and she was able to drop by the party!! She even changed into PJs so she'd match the other girls even though she knew she wouldn't be able to sleep over this time.

Heather Doll was so glad to see her!! "I'm so glad you're here!!"

I gotta give you as squeeze!!

Doll Best Friends Forever!! 💓

So the girls had some cake and a great chat but then sadly it was time for Frann to go so she could make it to her other engagement. They all promised to have another slumber party soon so she could sleep over then!

The rest of the girls made their way to the bedroom for more slumber party fun... Here are Myfanwy and Jen discussing makeup and haircare.

Patricia and Susannah decided to play a game... Board games are the best!

I wonder who will win?

The party lasted late into the night as the girls all chatted and told ghost stories!

Heather Doll is pretty sure it's the best Birthday Party she's ever had!  What is your favorite way to celebrate your birthday?

That's it for now doll friends!
Till next time!

New Updated Tour of The Doll Room!

Hi Doll Friends!!

So it's been a while since I gave you a tour of my doll room and a lot has changed since then so I figured it was time for an update.

As you can see, on top of my desk I've started storing all my most important dollies... For most of the time I've had this doll room my desk ended up being just a dumping station for doll stuff and it would slowly get messier and messier until I got annoyed about it and cleaned it off. Then one day as I was feeling overwhelmed by my dolls not having enough storage room I thought "Why not just store the most important dolls on the desk?" And so I did. I really like it like this. I moved my sewing machine into the basement months ago because I decided if I am going to do any sewing it will probably be in the wee early morning hours and disturb my husband if I am in the doll room on same level...

Since last tour, I've added an additional doll rack on the wall here... It gives me seven more spaces for dolls on the floor. Haha. I have a few dolls...

This is the shelf over the doll closet...

I've added two doll racks on the wall down the stairs too...

As you can see, under the desk, where the chair would go if you used it as a desk, is a great place for storing extra doll furniture and accessories.

The white cabinets here are incredibly handy to hold all my many doll accessories..

The doll closet has gotten rather full and so I have some 'spillover' into the other closet...

on either side of the organizer I also have in there to hold doll socks and undies etc..

I use every single inch of space in the room. Haha!

As you can see, this is where the 'doll rooms' get set up.... above you can see the Sweet Shoppe before I took it down and packed it away...

And then I set up the modern My Life As Doll kitchen this time.... I think it looks perfect with the cabinets Frann sent me as they are the exact same height as one another. Perfect!

And here is a photo from 'inside' the doll room. This is Diya, a Carpatina Doll.

Hope you enjoyed the tour... If you have any questions about anything and I've not explained it, just leave me a comment!

Till next time!

My Life As Doll A Day In The Life 18Inch Doll Clothes Sets from Walmart!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me!!

That's right folks! Today is my birthday... Look at what I got for myself with some birthday money! (I always get it early so I can get my actual gift by my birthday...) These cute sets went on sale for less than $15.00 each about a week ago at Walmart and since I had Birthday money burning a hole in my pocket, I ordered four! In hindsight I am sort of regretting not buying two more because they are super cute espcially condidering the price!!

The boxes are kind of huge... I think it's because they are a special item that will only be around for Christmas and toy producers know that the bigger the box, the bigger the gift and that's always exciting for kids... A big mystery box under the tree!! So well done on that score.

Here are some of the girls modeling the daytime ensembles. They are each just adorable!! I tried to pick a favorite but they are all each so unique and cute that it's hard... I suppose the owl outfit, the horse outfit (red sweater) and the plaid skirt with the animal print vest are my top three. Which do you like best?

These are the PJs. So. Totally. Cute!! I love most of them have sleeping masks and slippers.

Here are the dressy outfits by themselves...

And the more casual outfits....

Then each set grouping as well... Here is the animal print one... So chick!

The Panda one...

The horse one...

and the Owl one...

They were each packaged with the little plastic fasteners to the cardboard backings that came in the boxes. Pretty easy to get out, just flip over and cut the backside of the fastener! I always do it that way because then there is no risk of accidentally cutting the clothes!

As for quality...? I have to say I think they did a pretty good job. The shoes seem a bit more cheaply produced than standard MLA shoes (the black flats are cute but very flimsy feeling) but given that $20 is the regular price point, not a bad deal for what you're paying! I think they'd be fine doll clothes for a child who loves to play dolls certainly and any one of the sets would be a wonderful companion gift for a doll!

It appears I only remembered to photograph the back of two of the boxes... This is what they look like.

But it looks like it's simply the stock photos that are also on the My Life As Doll Website of the clothes so you can conjecture what the two missing ones looked like in case I forget to get them taken and uploaded later (I still have the boxes and can take the extra photos, it's just remembering to and then remembering to update the blog.. So just in case I forget!)

This is one of the two that I forgot to photo back of box.

And the last one...

Well, that's it for now Doll Friends!! I have had a great Birthday already and it's not even 7AM.
God is good.
