New Our Generation Professional Woodworker Doll Valeria Arrives At The Doll House!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

Happy Saturday!! Guess who arrived mid-week but I haven't had a chance to come show you until now?

She's very pretty! I was a bit aghast at them having packaged her with the safety goggles on I will admit? What if they scratched her face? Luckily, as best as I can tell, my worries were unfounded. I still think it was sort of silly of them to put her in the box this way? How are you supposed to 'see' her? Sure, there is a photo of her on the box but... Well, maybe it's just me. Probably. I over think way too many things...

Here she is in her box...

And the back of the box...

So, I am never one to want to 'trash talk' a new doll or any doll strait out of the box... But... Holy smokes look at that frizzy mess of hair. She came out of the box just like this. Um... Yikes. No matter, I thought, she just needs a good comb out and it'll be fabulous...

Until I hit a snag in her hair like three times and found more than one of these...! What? I am still confounded as to how she could have chunky rats in her hair when she'd never even left the box. How weird. I even had a moment where I thought "That's madness, I am taking her back to the store." But... Her face is so pretty and it's not really her fault that her hair is wonky... So, ultimately, as with other dolls that make their way to the Doll House with 'flaws', I decided I'd just try and sort her hair best as I could and keep her. Of course. Hahaha.

I seriously ususally don't feel so nit-picky about dolls when they arrive... Maybe it's because I generally think I know what I am going to get because I look at them each very well before I order them and read reviews etc... But... These overalls. I guess I saw in the photo that they had 'slits' in the legs... I guess it's a style thing that I've never really understood. Cutting holes in perfectly good jeans as some style statement. Mostly I think it just looks silly. Here especially... I think anyway. They'd have been much cuter if they'd just left them 'uncut'. But.... It is what it is. One small last nit-pick about this doll? Her given name!? What kind of name is that? It sounds like an illness. So, yeah, that's going to change. I'll keep you posted!

I must apologize because that's all the photos I have for now... In looking at todays forcast, it appears nice weather is coming today so I'll hope to have a chance to take some good photos of her today. Ilee from Journey Girl also arrived (I know, I know... I can't ever seem to buy dolls one at a time... Oh no... I gotta bring them home in teams or something... *face palm* LOL) and I need to take photos of her too so it'll light a fire under me. Always something needing done at the Doll House. Eh?

Better run if I am going to get a post up about Ilee coming home too!

Hi Doll Friends,

I got more photo's taken of her the other day...

I just braided her hair for now... I think she looks gorgeous with it back off her face.

I changed her clothes too although I thought her 'meet outfit's shirt looked cute with the retro strawberry jeans and platform sandals so I put it back on her.

She's such a cute doll. I am glad I got her.

You can see the pretty blue streak through her hair. I sent my Madame Alexander Doll Blue to live with my sister friend Frann. (We love to share dolls) So I think I am going to re-name Valeria and her new name will be Blue. Because with the blue streak in her hair, that's perfect!

Better run!

Journey Girl Ilee Arrives At The Doll House!

Hi Doll Friends!

Ever since I first saw her Ilee has been on my 'wish list' for dolls... Since Toys R Us seems to be floundering a little bit I am starting to fear the worst for the future of the beautiful Journey Girls line of dolls. I've decided I need to bump the JG's I want further up the list before they are gone. Maybe I'll be happily surprised and be wrong about them going away. Sadly, I just heard that Madame Alexander is struggling too and they are kind of industry standard in the doll world. So, I know that dolls are in trouble a bit. I am sad to say I think children are playing with toys less and less as they turn into little zombies in front of handheld screens. No judgement here in case it sounds that way! I often pray thanks to Jesus that my two kids are in their teens now and I didn't have the chance to just 'hand them a screen' to placate them when they were little. Because I know me and I am sure I'd have let them have them too. So, like I say, thank you Jesus for my not having had to worry about that. Not that my teens aren't screen zombies but at least when they were little bitty, they actually played and ran and acted like children. You know? I digress... Sorry for my little 'state of the world' lamentation... But... Well... what can I say that I lament the state of the world quite a lot. Why do you think I've created Doll World to lose myself in? Hahaha! Right? Maybe if I keep trying to create magical photos of dollies, some child might see them and have thier imagination sparked to play with their own dollies and create their own scenes and photos. I can hope. By way, if you, dear reader, are one who's taken doll photos I would love to see them! If you wouldn't mind I could even post them to the blog as a 'guest post' so... Do contact me if that interests you at all. My goodness... Digressing on top of digressing... On to Ilee!!

She is so gorgeous!! One reason I bought her is because I happened to find a sale at ToysRUs where she was only $28.00... I couldn't help myself. She had to join the Doll House.

I love her outfit!! So neat and I love that she's from Austrailia. I am not sure if I mentioned this but when I was about seven and obsessed with Olivia Newton John, I wanted to move to Austrailia and never come back. So, here is my little nod to my seven year old self. Teehee.

I just got her out of the box earlier this morning and haven't had a chance to photo her yet but I just had to come show you anyway... I mentioned I had a couple of Journey Girl dolls on my 'wish list'... Which is/are the other ones? Well, the next I think I'll get if I find them on sale again (or if start to really feel like ToysRUs might go away quickly...) I want to get Callie because, well, she's adorable. I know I know... All dolls are adorable to me, apparently. Meh, everyone has thier 'thing' right?

Side of box...

Other side of box...

Back of box...

And a set of undies that I got on sale for $9.00 that I purchased instead of spending that money on shipping... I love free shipping.

I was surprised myself that I bought an underwear set but I think the three camis/tanktops can (and will) be used to round out cute summer outfits of shorts and sandals. Right? So, that's fun.

Better run!
I'll hope to be back with proper photos of Ilee soon... Untill I do, perhaps check out My Journey Girls Dolls Adventures post about her... She always does such an amazing job on her reviews and photos so check out her other posts as well. I love other doll blogs! So many great ones to read and never enough time to read as much as I'd like... So, speaking of reading, thanks for reading my post here and any time you do. I know there is a lot of 'media' vying for your attention nowadays and so it's always so lovely to have visits on my little corner of the webs of the world wide.

Better run!
Till Next Time!

My Other Doll Collections... Maplelea, Just Pretend, Carpatina, Maru&Friends, Starpath and Girls&Co Dolls!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

I've been working on my 'My Collection So Far Posts' and the Our Generation Doll's are taking forever because I have, well, quite a few of them. Teehee. So I decided to make a post about my dolls that I only have one or two from the manufacturer... Not because I don't love them but because they are all 'higher end' dolls and also uncommon... Not dolls you'll likely ever find at a Goodwill or other thrift store because they aren't as popular as the American Girl, Our Generation, Journey Girl and other easly obtained and well known 18inch doll companies. So.... Here they are:

Saila was my first Maplelea and I love her! Isn't she pretty?

Charlsea is a more recent addition to the Doll House. She is a Twinsy Doll I have with Frann.  So I obviously love her too!

Maplelea Dolls are Canada's answer to American Girl Dolls. They are really top notch and I love both of mine. They are very sturdy and, I think, a better deal than American Girl Dolls. You can find most of them on Amazon.com now for $99. and they come with an amazing book and meet outfit... You can't go wrong if you buy one of these for your collection!

Lizzie is a doll I got a long time ago but that never really see's very much face time in the Doll House. I can't really account for why, she is beautiful with those lavender eyes. I named her after Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice. I got a sister doll to her when she came home and I've since sent her to live with Frann as a sort of twinsy doll. (They have same sculpt but different eye colors and hair colors.)

Just Magic Dolls information can be found here and this doll is Just Magic Dolls Rebecca as far as I've been able to figure out.

Diya is another Twinsy Doll with Frann. I think she is so striking with her heterochromatic eyes!!

Carpatina Diya can be found here for purchase if you love her as much as I do but I don't know if you can get the heterochromatic ones like I did...?

Maru is a recent addition but I loved her so much that....

Tanya came home soon after she Maru....

Maru and Friends Dolls website is here.

Star is kind of new too... Hahaha. What can I say, I had a bit of a doll glutton towards end of last year for several reasons... I had my 100K hits (two dolls from that as gifts from husband and Frann), my birthday, Christmas... And all I ever ask for is dolls dolls dolls... Teehee...

Starpath Dolls website is here.

Lorilai was a doll I had to have in my collection because she is a nearly exact doppelganger of my daughters life long best friend. Isn't she adorable?

Girls & Company Dolls website is here.

Well, I know this was kind of a short post really... Mostly links to old posts... But I am forever short on time lately and the old blog posts do tell the story of how they arrived so... Do holler if you have any questions at all about any of them! I do so love to 'talk dolls'!

Have a great weekend!! The other Our Generation Doll Valeria (the painter.. Can I just say I really don't like the name they chose? So she will certainly be getting re-named!) arrived yesterday... I just need to get her out of the box and photographed...

Always more doll stuff that I want to do than I have time for, eh? Guess that is what makes a perfect hobby, right?
