Many Recent Doll Clothes Upcycles From Newborn Sized Baby Onesies!

Greetings Doll Friends!

Especially when you get a huge stack of basically new newborn sized onsies for 25cents each. Score!

Quite a few of the tops in the Fashion Show were made from these onesies. I still have the hats to make over, they were only 10cents each and I think I can take them in enough to work on the dolls. If not, not much lost, eh?

See the tops on the dolls on either side of Frann Doll? They are wearing made over onesies tops. I think they look so cute with leggings!

Please note, if you're making the onsies over in the way I described, by inserting seam binding in the hem of the shirt, it makes it really hard to put them on unless you put them on from the top down, not over the head. If that makes sense. The opening to the kneck is super stretchy and so putting them in feet first from the top of the shirt is easiest way to dress them in these tops or dresses.

Here are a few girls waiting in the bedroom for their turn on stage.

Prism is wearing a made over onesie with skirt I made over from a child sized skirt. It's one of my favorites of the outfits I've made recently... I like that while it looks very girlie, it's also got a sporty look it. Fun!

The two on the right are made over onesies. I love love love the tights I found on eBay to go with the polka dot top. I want a pair like that of my own! Right? I need to finish a draft I wrote about my recent purchase of doll leggings on eBay. I went on a bit of a shopping spree for leggins much like I did for dresses in the past where I got them for really low prices. It almost makes me feel bad how cheaply I get them sometimes but they offer them for sale so... Why not buy them, right?

This is a bit of a different sort of onesie, a bit more dressy if you will... I made it into a dress.

I used exactly the same 'procedure' as I did for the more casual onesies though.

Here are the latest twins for Frann and I wearing them.

Here is Calla also wearing a made over onesie top with leggings. I think that is going to be a popular outfit in the Doll House. Hahaha. Because I made quite a few and have many yet to make over. So much fun and so easy...

Actually, I kind of got caught up making over things for a while and then doing the Fashion Show of them that I accumulated a small mountain of drafts here on the blog... So you'll have to excuse me if I post as many as I can get through today!

Here are some boy ones I made over... I forgot all about putting them in the fashion show actually. I forgot more than a few things actually! Did I mention I went a bit crazy at the sewing machine. LOL

I think there will be many more of this sort of tops and dresses in the Doll House in the future.

This pink one with white polka dots will probably always be a favorite. Isn't it cute?

My Life As Doll Cleaning Set and Ironing Board Set

Hi Doll Friends!

Clear back in August, we took a little road trip and while we were gone, I went to the local Walmart. While there, I got a couple of accessories sets from the newer released My Life As Doll line.

Then I tucked them away to open and review later... And... Kind of forgot them. Teehee. It's a hazard of being a doll blogger I suppose. Hahaha.

So here I am to show you the sets I got. I got the 'Ironing Play Set' and the "Cleaning Play Set" (That I can't find on the website anymore?)

They are both super cute sets!!

Here is Lisa Doll with the ironing set in front of the washing machine at the Doll House I think the iron is my favorite part but the spray bottle is pretty adorable too!

I love the floral top of the ironing board! So accurate!

Here is Angela with the other set. It is super! It has so many items for being under $6.00. I have considered, in the past, buying Our Generation's Car Wash Accessories Set just because it has a squeegee and a microfiber wash mit... and this set has both! Woot! Now the dolls can wash the car and the vespa's with ease!

Here is Angela ready to go clean the bathroom. Wish her luck!

Here are Lisa, Florence and Angela getting everything spic and span. So, these are pretty fantastic sets for the money and if you can locate them at the regular price, they are a great deal! I say that because it's insane how much people mark this sort of thing up to on eBay starting around this time of year...!! I suppose it's the rule of supply and demand. Sadly not everyone lives close-by a Walmart and so have to rely on eBay. I suppose it's better than not being able to buy it when you want it though, right?

Journey Girl PlayScape On Sale At Target!

Greetings Doll Friends!

I was looking around ToysRUs Journey Girls section on their website recently and noticed that they had the Playscape Playset on sale for only $12.98. However, I still wasn't really interested because it didn't seem to be 'big' enough to me to be a worthy investment of space or money even if it was so cheap. Until... I read some of the reviews and in the very top one it mentioned buying two of them and combining them to make a larger play area. Genius!! At less than $13 each, I could afford to get two and that meant only a few dollars away from free shipping. Luckily they had these hat and fur collar sets for like $4.50 and that made shipping free! Woot!

So when I got it home, I put it together almost immedately. I had wanted to tell you about the vespa I got for Frann Doll from Goodwill and knew this background would be perfect for that.

Here they are (above) with just one of the backgrounds behind them...Then...

I added just the scenes to either side and half of the second base to make a larger play area and it worked out perfectly for the scene! I think this will be a lot of fun going forward for when I want to take 'outdoor' photos without going outside.

It's a pretty neat set for $13 but if I'd have paid regular price I'd have likely been super annoyed at how flimsy it is. I am not sure how well this would stand up to regular play by real kids. I mean the back panels are actually made of board and pretty nice.... But the plastic base is really really lightweight and the screws that hold the 'columns' in place are very small and, I think, easily strip out and break. However, for the $13 and for me, an adult collector, it is a pretty nifty item to own! Well, when you have two of them anyway.

Here they are on a 'park' bench in the double scene.

See how I set it up? I didn't put the second set together the way you're meant to, I just used half the 'base' on either side of my first set and leaned the scene boards to make it look twice as big. So if you're looking for an easy background for taking photos for your dolls, like if you sew for Etsy, this would be a great option! Naturally it has the 'indoor' scenes too but don't really need them because I have pretty neat scenes in the regular doll house. Eh?

New With Tags Our Generation Vespa Goodwill Find for Frann!

Hi Doll Friends!

Maybe you recall when I recently found the Our Generation Scooter at Goodwill for $3.99. Well, at the time, I thought how fun it would be to have two so that dolls could take rides together. Well, low and behold, what did I find recently at Goodwill?

That's right. Another Our Generation Vespa Scooter! This one still even had the tags on it and the packaging from where the helmet came with it! (Trust me, I looked and looked for helmet but no dice!) This one was a bit more spendy than the first one, likely because it still had original tags on it. It was $7.99 which is 75% off the new price at Target. So, still a pretty good deal, eh?

So naturally I consider this one to be Frann Doll's vespa and the first one will be Heather Doll's! What adventures they are going to have on these sweet little scooters!

See? It even came with the original tag!

Unreal what people give away, right? Why not just take it back to the store? But I am glad they do so I can buy them at good prices and come and show them to you fine people and use them for photos! Win win!

Belated Labor Day Camping Trip Post!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends,

I am finding that one hazard of having started making YouTube videos is that I end up making the video and thinking "I'll post the blog post later..." and then, in my mind, because the video is posted perhaps, the blog post becomes 'checked off' in my mind. So I nearly even deleted these photos before coming here to post them because I'd made the YouTube video! So, my new plan is to post all photos to blog immediately upon editing... I am rambling. I am sure that was a boring paragraph! Haha! Suffice to say I am trying to figure out how to navigate covering all the different manner of social media that is modern life for my little blog here.

Anyway, on with the photos from a camping trip some of the dolls took over the Labor Day weekend.

Here is their camp site, nice and private!

The girls who went were Francis, Radel, Sasha and Angela.

They just love the new camper and couldn't wait to get it out at the camp grounds!

Here are Angela and Sasha getting some food ready... The little RV kitchen is so handy!

Radel and Francis are getting the tent set up for later...

What is it that makes food taste so much better when you're camping?

Am I right? Even apples taste amazing!

Angela made some delicious muffins for the trip... YummO!

Francis and Sasha are talking about taking their sleeping bags and sleeping directly under the stars!

Radel and Angela decide they are going to take a little hike...

They take the lantern just in case they get lost in the woods. I think perhaps they've seen one too many scary movies.

But they didn't get lost after all and were seemingly back at camp in no time!

Do you like camping? What is your favorite time of year to go?

Better run! I am about 20 drafts behind and am hoping to catch up on some this evening!
Have a happy weekend!
