Heather and Josh Doll Fall Portraits... At A Prison... Perspective Matters!

Hi Doll Friends!!

As I mentioned in a recent post, part of my job is to ride along with my boss and do administrative stuff for him during the day while he goes into different places to work. He's a pretty forgiving boss and so doesn't mind my bringing along dolls with me in case we happen upon a good place to take photos during the day. When I say 'good place' to take photos, you'd think I were talking about parks and pretty venues like that... However this post is here to tell you that, if you look for them, there are likely 'photo op' venues for your dolls all over the place and all around you. You just have to take the photos from the right perspective. Case in point, I decided, last week, to take Heather and Josh Doll along with me since it'd been a while since they'd had their 'portraits' taken. So I dressed them up in fall clothes and brought them with me... One of the places we had to go last week was a prison in town! See, we work in big industrial kitchens doing repairs on their kitchen equipment and there are literally kitchens everywhere! Obviously, also in prisons because the inmates and staff have to eat three times a day just like everyone else. So... I was sitting in the truck working on my laptop when I glanced out and saw some pretty neat landscaping including some really large boulders/rocks. Aha! Perfect spot for doll photos!

I love love love how many of them came out!

See, I took the photos from 'above' where you could only see the rock and maybe a little bit of the parking lot surface in them. This is them in the exact same pose but with me taking the photo from a different perspective...

And again, I didn't move the dolls a bit but just turned a little and this really not-scenery like road with industrial building was behind them in that direction...

But I just move my camera a bit and... This cute shot emerges....!

So... Look around! You'll find some really great doll photo venues right in front of you. Lots of places pay lots of money for pretty landscaping even around thier parking lots... Why not use them for your doll photos. Now mind you, you will get some strange looks... A prison guard walked to her car while I was taking the photos (it only took about 5 mins) and looked at me like I was bonkers. Hahaha.

Gotta run!
Have a great weekend!

XOXO

New Our Generation Movie Theater and Train Cabin and Movie Director Dolls!

Doll Friends!

So I was on YouTube and what did I see? American Girl Ideas posting about the new Our Generation Movie Theater! So of course I 'ran' to Target online to see what else they might have that is new and exciting!

Here is the movie theater... I won't lie, it's pretty cool! But I bet it is ginormous in person and I only have so much room so I doubt I'll buy one myself...

However... This adorable Train Cabin might be my undoing!

They also have a new Deluxe Dressing Room set.

A Deluxe movie set! Love the director's chair!

Even if I don't get the actual Dining CarI am going to have to get the Dining Car Breakfast set!

And I think that this beauty, Diandrea, is new...? I actually saw a Director Doll named Kathleen the other day myself and it was all I could do not to buy her! But no! I have one that looks nearly just like her already!

Here is a photo I snapped of her! Isn't she pretty!?

I will admit I was weak and could not leave this accessories set at the store:

Also... I had Journey Girl Kelsey on my wish list at Amazon and guess what my husband added to his 'cart' the other day...? She arrived soon after and was such a lovely surprise! He's so sweet to me.

Better run!

Doll Photo's At The Park Last Week!

Hello Doll Friends!

Here are some doll photo's I took last week at the park. It's been a crazy few weeks! As per usual I have many a blog post planned in my brain/imagination but just less and less time to come here and get them posted. I am determined I will find a better 'balance' in my life and get back to more regular blog posts but I am certainly not there yet. Goals!

Here are some photo's I took of some dolls last week. I am absolutely enamored with Maricela and wanted to take her along with me when I went out for work during a sunny day... I decided to grab a couple of other dolls too...

I really like the photos and how they came out!

You can see I had them stood up on picnic table.

Maricela's 'necklace' is a bracelet (I recently found at a thrift store) like I talk about in this post

This is just a lot of different perspectives of the same pose.

This is an as-of-yet-unnamed Our Generation Doll that I got recently at a thrift store and spruced up...

And this is a little Citi Pals Doll I got late last year at Sam's Club.

I mostly took photo's of Maricela because it's so much easier to pose one doll than it is to pose three!

I even stopped by a different park and got some photos there...

And then to even a third park... I think she's such a gorgeous doll!

I love the pretty highlights in her hair! I haven't taken her hair out of their original ponytails yet... I bet it'll be even prettier!

I better run!
