Our Generation Gabe Arrives At The Doll House!!

Hi Doll Friends!

Our Generation keeps outdoing themselves. Just when I say/think "That's it, I have all the Our Generation Dolls I think I'll 'need'..." They go and come out with another adorable one! This time? Gabe the newest boy doll in their line. I ordered him, literally, the moment I saw him online. He's even cuter in person than in their stock photos! Perhaps one of the most handsome 18inch boy dolls I've seen yet, actually. Well done Our Generation!!

He arrived late last week but it was a busy weekend and so I didn't get a chance to post until today...

So handsome!!!

When I ordered him I thought I wasn't going to keep his name... But once he arrived I decided he just looks like a Gabe. One of my favorite angels in the Bible is Gabriel and this kid looks like he could be the modern kid version of him. Eh?

I love his hair!

And he's outta the box!

The girls came to welcome him! I'm sure he'll be very popular... Hahaha.

Billy came along so the poor fella wouldn't feel totally alone with the girls!

I think he's going to make a great addition to the Doll House! Can't wait for the upcoming Homecoming Season so he can get dressed up and take one of the gals on a date!

Oh, and guess what? I checked back on Target online a bit later in the week and darn it if they didn't release a new girl that hopped in my shopping buggy and is on her way home... Her name is Lake and she's adorable!! I'd considered Kay earlier this year when I brought Juliet and Amy home... But I have so many red headed dolls in the Doll House already that I just never did make the purchase. I am so glad because Lake has the same sculpt and I love her eyes, hair and freckles!! Well, in order to get free shipping I had to buy something else and since I've seemingly thrown all caution to the four winds with regards to restraint in doll population... I ordered another doll I thought of last year too! So Manuella is on her way along with Lake. Hahaha! I think she has the same sculpt as well but I can't decide for sure. What do you think?

In any case they are all beautiful and I am excited for Lake and Manuella to arrive!

Better run!

Two New Custom Dolls! Makeovers for Duck House and Famosa Nancy Dolls!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

I customized two dolls this past weekend... I love how they came out!!

Here they are with their new looks! I still need to glue on the wigs but I just had to come show you how cute they came out.

This little fella started life as a Duck House girl doll but I think he makes a perfect boy!!

And this Famosa Nancy looks amazing with her new hair! I had two 'golden haired' Famosa's and decided I needed to re-think my collection and that dupes either had to go or be remade into a custom... I think it's amazing how they can look like totally different dolls!

Here are before photos of the Duck House doll. I've tried to find out more information about this brand of dolls... I found this blog post from Just Magic Dolls and this one from Doll Diaries... So fascinating how many different kinds of dolls there are, right?

One of her eyelashes had been ripped off and I have to admit I originally picked her up for her clothes in hopes that they'd fit my Famosa's... I love her little jeans!! She was marked $5.99 which is a bit mroe than I usually like to pay for dolls just for their doll clothes but when I looked at her little face, I suddenly saw a brother for my little sister dolls in the Doll House! So... It had to happen. Right?

Have you ever seen this manner of dolls?

Meet Frann Dolls Husband Frank!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

As I've mentioned in recent blog posts, I've begun to feel like I have a few too many dolls. What!? That's a preposterous notion isn't it? Is there such a thing even? Never! Hahaha. Kidding. I honestly don't really thing there is such a thing as 'too many dolls' honestly. If you have the space, the money and the access to them, you're not hurting anyone, right? It's actually not due to the space or the money that is making me feel like I have 'too many' though. Although, lets get real, space can be a problem when you have over a hundred a lot of dolls! I actually don't know how many I have, I haven't counted in a while... Teehee... No the driving force behind my feeling like perhaps I have too many is that because of that, some of them just sit and collect dust. Literally. I do try to rotate them in and out of the Doll House scenes but I do have favorites (don't tell the dolls!!) and naturally those see more 'play time' than the others. So... I've begun to try and weed some dolls out. Is it silly that I feel kind of guilty every single time I get rid of a doll? Like I am a bad 'Doll Mom' or something. Isn't that silly? I mean I know they're all just made of plastic and fluff but I get attached anyway. Such as the life of a doll fanatic huh?

So... I started basket of dolls I wasn't totally in love with. Just set them aside at first... You know, to mull over what to do with them. I am the laziest person in the world when it comes to eBay because the parceling up and mailing always seems so difficult to me. So my thought is usually to just donate the dolls to Goodwill because nine  seven (?) times out of ten I will have gotten them at a thrift store anyway.

One of the dolls I put in the 'pile' of possible orphans was my very first Adora doll. It wasn't that I didn't like her but I had the newer versions Adora dolls and I had to weed someone. I wasn't particularly attached to that doll and since I'd originally named her Fongtan after one of my favorite co-workers, I just stole the name and gave it to the newer Adora Doll that arrived named Jasmine. As I looked at my original Adora though, the more I looked, the more I saw why I wasn't in love with her. Because she would be much more loveable as a boy!! So, I set to work. I decided to just cut his hair myself and see how it came out. If it was horrible, I was planning to order a wig. However, much to my utter surprise and delight, I really love the way his hair came out!!

Doll Friends meet Frank!! He has come to the Doll House to be Frann Doll's husband and fella. I decided to give him an American name to match Frann Doll's because I a terrified I'll spell his Korean name wrong every single time and I know I'll say it wrong too. I can't have that! I am so happy to have Frank because now Heather Doll and Frann Doll can go on double dates!! Fun!!

Here is the happy couple Frann and Frank. Aren't they fabulous?!?!

Here are Josh Doll and Heather Doll all ready to have a fun chat and coffee on a double date with Frank and Frann.

Naturally they decided to go to the Sweet Shoppe for a coffee, sweets and a chat.

Say cheese!!

Time flew and soon enough Annie, who was running the Sweet Shoppe because it was Lisa Doll's day off, brought out their Bakery orders to go.

Josh and Heather had ordered some more of the Strawberry Shortcake Josh had while they were chatting and Frann and Frank ordered a strawberry-rhubarb pie because Josh recommended them and they'd never had one before.

They had such a nice time they decided they must go on double dates more often! Frank told Josh that they would have to go out golfing because that was his favorite hobby.

Here is Heather Doll paying for Josh and Heather's part of the evening.

And here is Frann paying for her and Franks. The girls were treating for the evening because they had helped them with some studying earlier and wanted to do something nice for them. Isn't that sweet?

Naturally the boys carried the boxes because they are gentlemen.

So that wraps up the fun first double date! Everyone had so much fun!

Till next time!

A Doppelganger Doll For Milo Yiannopoulos!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

As you may know, I love making doppelganger dolls for significant people in my life. I make them of friends, family and people I admire in the public arena... I'll have to do a posting of all my dopplegangers with photos of who they are made to emulate at some point maybe. Well, one of my favorite journalists and media pundits is Milo Yiannopoulos. I would go into my reasoning for admiring him so much but I don't want to get too political here in my little doll blog. You can check him out and see what he's all about... You'll love him too I am sure of it because he is fabulous! He is the second media pundit doll I've made. The other I've already posted about is Lauren Southern who is also an amazing young woman making her voice known in the world. She and Milo aren't even from the United States but they are fighting harder for the USA than many who live here... So, I love and pray for them both.

Here he is! Milo always wears pearls on his wrist and he has a fabulous diamond tennis bracelet too... I need to try and find better of both. He also wears two or three crosses at any given time and I plan to make him a few of those necklaces too at some point... But I am happy with him for now. Milo was made by using a Creatology Zoey Doll rewigged with a blonde boy wig.

This is the real Milo. See? Fabulous.

I think I did pretty good... I'll keep adding touches as I find them.

By way, I bought his jacket and jeans as part of an Espari set... I literally bought the set just for those two items (well, and the little t-shirt with doggie on it is pretty awesome too!). The clothes fit really well despite the fact that Creatology dolls are 17inches tall and Espari dolls are 18inches. They look perfect on Milo!

Here is the set I used.
