My Our Generation Battat Custom Dolls Collection... So Far...

Hi Doll Friends!

This post has been sitting in my To-Do folder forever... Mostly because I wanted to do one really long post about all my Our Generation Dolls to update this post. However, even though these photos were taken back in February I 'paused' and never got back to the project again yet. So... I'm going to post the collection in stages rather than never getting it posted at all.

I've done many many custom dolls since I started collecting 18 inch dolls but my Our Generation Doll customs are some of my favorites. So without further ado (adieu?), here they are:

Aubrianna is likely the custom I've gotten the most compliments of all my customs ever made. I just love her to bits, she is so pretty and photogenic

Here we have a custom I've made from one of the rarest of the Our Generation face sculpts. I've only ever found two of them and I love them both. This is the second wig she's had, the first one was pretty but I love this one so much more.

Here we have Hector... I can't seem to find a write up about him.

This is my Vito Doll... He's one of my most treasured dolls because he is my son's doppelganger doll. He no longer has blonde curls like this but he did when he was little bitty and that's why his doll has them. Here is a post of him with horses that is has some of my favorite photos of him

Here we have Bernie... Couldn't find a write up about her customization either but she's my Grandma C's doppelganger doll... She's got cute photos in this post of her tidying up the Doll House

Here is Annie

Sad to say I can't recall when I customized this one and couldn't find a post about her but she's adorable.

Here is Hematite

Finally we have Samorn. I love how she looks with her blonde wig.

So that's all of them... So far.
Wish I had more time! Sadly I gotta go!

Our Generation Deluxe Farmers Market Set

Hi Doll Friends!!

As you may know if you read this blog regularly, the last six months of 2019 were, well, no fun at all for the most part. I guess there are just years like that and I'll hope that was the worst of mine going foward. However, during that time, I had a birthday (in November)...And with some birthday money I got, I bought this adorable Our Generation Deluxe Farmers Market Set. I sort of bought it and then let it sit, in it's box, for when I felt I'd actually get enjoyment from opening it. I finally got it unboxed this last weekend and had some of my newer Our Generation dolls model with it to show you how adorable it is. By the way, about the doll models above, they've yet to be named... I am leaning towards Sookie for the one on the right who is named Ivory from Our Generation. Sookie after Sookie Stackhouse from the book series and show. I loved the books more than the show but I loved Sookie in any case and have wanted to find a doppelganger doll for her. I think I decided as I am typing this that is going to be her name. Heehee.

Also, when I posted this photo on Instagram, more than one person asked me about the outfit that Sookie is wearing. I am planning a blog post about that soon (got the photos taken, just need to get it done) but... The outfit is a 'one of a kind' outfit I bought from a local lady in my town. I'll try to remember to come back to this post to give you a linky to that story but if you're reading this six months from now and it's not there, I am sure that post will be of the next few

I really think Our Generation has stepped up their game in the last few years and their accessories are absolutely on par with American Girl Doll, which is so often considered the industry standard in this doll size. The lovely thing about Our Generation is that you don't have to mortgage your house to buy them. Teehee... Or maybe that's just me and my own doll hoard collection.

I think this set is going to be perfect for Charlsea's Farmer's Market's  in the future. I love the tomatoes and peppers! They all are singles and come out of the boxes they are in. I think the bundled carrots and turnips are adorable too! I love that it came with a blueberry pie because I can use that in other scenes as well. Oh, what can I say, I love the whole set! The apples don't come out of the basket but I am good with that because that would be a mess and I have lots of 'single' apples anyway. So, I'll look forward to incorporating this set into my Farmer's Market Youtube Video and to use the veggies and pie in other scenes as well. Great set!
Well done Our Generation!

Better run!

Doppelganger Dolls Of My Pastor and Pastor's Wife!

Hi Doll Friends,

I recently got a Boy Story Doll and the whole reason I wanted one in my collection is because he makes a perfect doppelganger doll for my pastor Bart. I had a doll for his wife, Jenn Doll for quite some time. However, I hadn't been able to find a Bart doll until I saw the Boy Story Doll and knew he'd be perfect!

A few weeks ago I had some time before church on a Wednesday night and brought in both dolls to take some photos at church!

I had so much fun taking the photos...! They are making me smile right just posting them.

I was so glad that the worship team was practicing so I could get photos of Pastor Bart in the sanctuary with them...!

I couldn't figure out how to get the best lighting so I took several...

I think this one is my favorite.

And here are the real Jenn and Bart!
How do you think I did with the doppelgangers?

I better run!
Happy Monday!

Kindred Heart Paige Gets A Makeover! Introducing Lee Hye-bin from Momoland!

Hi Doll Friends!

So... I've been wanting to make a doppelganger doll of a Kpop star that my daughter loves named Lee Hye-bin in the band Momoland... I kept looking for a perfect doll to use to make her. I don't know why it didn't occur to me when I got her but I was looking at my dolls about a week ago and I noted that poor Paige hadn't really left the doll shelf since I got her... And suddenly I was like "Hold the phone! She'd be perfect!" So, I grabbed out my little collection of doll wigs and tried the ones I had considered using for her.

Currently Lee Hye-bin is kind of known for having short hair.... However, when I looked her up when I found out she was one of my daughters favorite, I found photos of her with a bit longer hair in pastels... So I decided to go with that look. Teehee. Cos how cute!! Eh?

I love how she came out!
I better run for now... Time flies! Have a great week Doll Friends!

Our Generation Beach House! A New Residence In Doll Village!

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends!!

Uh oh... The perfect storm of my getting a bit of a windfall of Doll Mad Money and a sale happened to align this weekend. I've imagined owning the Our Generation Beach House but being as it is such a large item, I just left it in my imagination. Teehee. I mean, the accessories alone made me want the set! However, we've recently had 'happenings' in our lives where I will have more room to store large doll items.
Uh Oh... Watch out world...
Doll Village might be growing!!
Hahaha!

So, when I got the Doll Mad Money windfall this last weekend, I just bought it. I don't know if I have mentioned before but my husband and my first apartment was in Hawaii. My husband was in the Army for first four years of our married life and it was our first and only duty station. I know, I know... Lucky right? Haha. Looking back it really was a magical time. I made friends there I have to this day a quarter of a century later. So... The Beach House always appealled to me. I mean, we didn't live on the actual beach but closer than I ever had or will again.

I'd do more of a 'review' post but American Girl Ideas already did a really great review and I am not one to want to reinvent the wheel.

The only thing I will mention about mine is that Our Generation has changed the set since they made it originally (when AG Ideas did their video) apparently. In her review you got a cute little set of nautical related cups and they were not in my set?! There was a carton of six brown eggs that were also not in my set. There were also two bottles of milk and two sodas and my set only had one.
So that was lame, Lame, LAME!!!
Seriously. Don't you think?
Whatever, I know in big scheme of things it's not that big a deal but...
Still. LAME.
I was so annoyed that I even wrote to Our Generation before I posted the last paragraph, just to see if they'd be willing to at least sell me the missing parts as replacement parts. Aaaaand.... Nope.

However, to their credit, at least they answered my note and must've even read the blog a bit. So, I'll grow up and just live with not having lovely aqua mugs with beach motif.

I still think it's fabulous but it'd be more fabulous if Meeka and Janeane here could be drinking some coffee from those cute mugs and making some eggs...

So for my initial photos here I tried to keep it with (mainly) what came with the set itself. Other than the dolls here and the dog, it's all stuff that came with the set.

But then obviously I made a scene including other beach elements I already owned.

I love the clam chowder even though I don't like clam chowder in real life at all. Haha. I have friends who love it though and their doppelganger dolls gotta eat too. LOL

So I am sure you'll be seeing a whole lot of the Beach House in the future. I've jokingly said that the dolls are in Hawaii in these photos. I guess if you can 't go to Hawaii, bring Hawaii to you?!

Gotta run!
