Teddy Bears Teddy Bears Teddy Bears! Fabulous Garage Sale Find!

Hi Doll Friends!

This past weekend I went to a Garage Sale at a local church this last Saturday and everything was half off...! So I looked around and what did I see but a whole box of teddy bears and I could see thru the clear bin that a lot of them were doll sized! So I pulled out every single doll sized one and got teh entire lot of them for only $4.50! Aren't they fabulous?

Three of them are 'Cottage Collectibles' and they are likely my three favorites of all of them. They are jointed and so you can turn their heads or move thier arms and legs up and down. Their tags read that two of them are from 2001 and one is from 1999. So cool!

Three of them were Boyds Bears... Which are also fabulous! The twins with knit caps are marked 1988-2003 and the one with the velvet hat is marked 1990-96.

This one had a tag reading "Abigail" and was made by Russ Company. Sorry for the blurry photo... If I wait to take it again I'll never get this posted. LOL

What a great find!
I better run!

Citi Pal's Dolls Just Kept Dropping Price! Introducing Selma And Salome!

Doll Friends,

What's a girl to do? I go to Sam's Club to return a shirt my daughter didn't care for and naturally I just check by the last aisle they have of the toys (Sam's only carries toys around Christmas I think...). You know, to see what's left., for research and all... Low and behold there are Citi Pal's left and they are only $4.71 each!! What?! The problem was that I'd already bought one of the two little girls they had left, from Chicago, when they moved them to $9.71 (I can't recall her factory given name just now, I am not keeping it and so I didn't really have it stick in my brain. LOL)

So... I bought one with the idea of changing her hair so she'd have a whole new look but I'd also have twins. Twins often wear their hair differently because it's pretty much the only alteration they can make to their appearance that will set them apart from their twin. So... Perfect!

I asked my Facebook (or maybe it was Instagram) connections for name ideas and my lovely friend Karrie suggested Selma and Simone. Which I loved! However, I already have a Simone, named after Nina Simone, one of the best singers of all time... Since I have my other Sekiguchi Salome doll in storage (I know... I know... So sad to keep dolls in boxes but... I never used them in scenes but couldnt make myself part with them because they were are so cute!) I have decided to name them Selma and Salome! I think Selma will be the one with the rainbow wig because it's the bit more 'sassy' of the two names, I think. Salome's name comes from the Bible.  She's one of the women who traveled with Jesus (after He healed her) when He was going from town to town telling about the Kingdom of God. So, naturally I think it's a swell name.

Aren't they fabulous!? I sure think so...
I know I know...
I love all the dolls...!
But I do though!
Hahaha.

Well, believe it or not, school break is over and I have to go herd the cats wake up the teenagers for school... Pray for me. *giggles* But seriously, pray.

Have a great week Doll Friends!

PS You know as I was writing out this blog I needed to do a search of my blog to find the appropriate links and as I was typing in 'Citi' so all the Citi Pal postings would come up I was all annoyed "Why do people have to go and change the appropriate spelling of words?" Until, duh! I realized they likely called them Citi Pals because they are made by Cititoy! Clever!
Ok, going...!

Santa Brought Glitter Girls Clothes For The Paola Reina Las Amigas Dolls! Also Citi Pal's Clearanced Again!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

Here we are, the last day of 2018! This year has seemingly gone by in a blink! Maybe it's just me but I literally feel like it was just New Years Eve about a month ago. As for me, 2018 has been a year of many blessings and of course some struggles... I guess that's likely true of all years. Right?

So, for Christmas this year I had a 'themed' gift in mind for my dear sister friend Frann. She has gifted me six beautiful Paola Reina Dolls and she has a collection of them herself. So I decided a good gift would be to send her a couple of outfits for her Paola Reina's and have 'Santa' bring me the same outfits... You know, then our Twinsy Dolls can have Twinsy Outfits! Kind of like playing dolls from across the world cos she has the same dolls and outfits that I have...

So when I sent her the outfits, I waited to see which of her Paola Reina's she'd dress in them first and.... Then I dressed my exact twins of them in same outfits to take photos for her to see! Fun fun!

During this week it was my sweet daughters birthday... For her party we got a couple of rooms at a hotel so she and her three friends could swim and watch movies and play truth or dare or whatever else teen girls do during a slumber party. I, of course, stayed with them but wanting to keep my sanity and for my daughter to have fun without me crimping her style too much, I got a room right next door. Which, I won't lie, once I got them settled in, was rather nice. I'd go check on them periodically and help them with anything they needed but mostly they kept to themselves after they were done swimming and I had a nice pretty quiet hotel room to myself. I had planned to bring along my laptop and write write write... But... I put my laptop bag beside my door to 'not forget it' and...
Of course... I forgot it. Oh well, I made the best of it and just took as many doll photos and did as much editing of them as I could with my phone.

Of course I took along dollies with me to take photos of!! Here is our stunning view of Sam's Club! Heeheehee... I'm kidding. I love where I live and wouldn't change the view from my local hotels for anything.

Later I took the dolls into the bathroom and tried to get some cute shots with the ginormous mirror in there. I think I got some cute ones.

Paola Reina Dolls are so totally adorable, right?

As you saw in photo... There was a Sam's Club across the way. Which was perfect because their cakes and pizza's are fantastic and good priced so they were on the menu for my daughters party. However, while I was over there to pick up the pizza's, cake and chips (etc) I happened by the toy section and since it was after Christmas, they'd marked the City Pal's Dolls down again... I'd already brought along the one I got the other day for $15ish but now that they were down to $9ish, well...
I only have so much will power people. Outfits for 14 inch dolls are usually $9 so it's like getting a doll for free. Free is my favorite price and so...

Two of them jumped right into my cart!

I'd brought along the girl (on left) that I got the other day for $14ish to take photos of and so... I took a photo of the three of them together!

As you can see, the girl on the right (with dark hair and blue eyes), has no shoes... I could not get her to stand up in the shoes she came with! So I gave up and let her be barefoot.

Out take photo!

I better run! I've been having technical issues again with this dinosaur of a laptop and actually posted this half done for a few hours because I couldn't get internet to launch again. Oy! Hoping to get back here with a post or two more today but just in case I don't make it back:

Happy New Year!

Journey Girl Giovanna Gets A New American Girl Doll Wig!

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends!
So... As I mentioned in a previous post or two, I found a great deal on authentic American Girl Doll wigs on eBay and... Well... I might've bought a few. You know me, I love to give dolls make-overs and finding quality wigs at a good price is a rare thing. So, when I do, I tend to stock up. If I don't have a doll currently that needs a wig, one is sure to come along.

A while ago, I found a Journey Girl Kyla at a Thrift Store and, of course, I bought her. Ever since ToysRUs went out of business, I've kind of decided that when I see a Journey Girl second hand, she'll probably come home with me. If I have said doll already in my collection, she'll get a makeover. Which is exactly what happened with the Kyla doll I found recently.

Last year or so, I also went through a bit of a 'rainbow wigs for everybody!' period with my dolls. I've kind of gotten over it now although I do have a few rainbow wig in my wig stash that will, more likely than not, find their way onto a doll. However, during that rainbow wig time period, I may have gone a bit nuts in my decisions of which dolls to make over. Case in point? When I cut off all of Giovanna's hair in order to give her a rainbow wig. Then I didn't like it. At all. Ugh. So much so, apparently, that I didn't even show you on the blog. (I just looked for a post about it even). I ultimately ended up giving her a dark wig by Beautifully Custom and liked it well enough...
But I didn't glue it on and so know I wasn't really 'settled' on it.

So I decided maybe I'd try giving her blonde hair again...

Here is Lynn, a doll I got from my amazing friend Crystal because she said the doll reminded her of me. She sent a darker golden blonde that she thought reminded her of herself, such a sweet gift! I'll have to make a post about it soon... So many posts, so little time... I digress. Since she was already dressed in a hair stylists work clothes, I decided to make her the stylist that gave the two girls makeovers.

I decided it would be kind of a fun 'pretend' that they are best friends and decided to get the same hair cut. I think they both look fantastic!! These are going to be glued down as soon as I feel patient enough to do a session of wig glueing. It's kind of nerve wracking and so I leave it until I am having a particularly calm and relaxed day. Meaning I haven't glued in recent memory. Hahaha. Nice thing about these wigs is they are tight enough that they stay on rather well without glue so for now they'll be fine.

Here they are shopping after their make-overs.

I still haven't settled on a name for the Kyla-as-was. She is obviously going to be a twin sister to my other Kyla doll

I had to have the twins meet at the mall, right?

Do you like how they turned out? I think Giovanna was just meant to be a light blonde, it just works well with her coloring. I love the shorter style on Kyla-as-yet-to-be-named as well as her original style.
Win-Win!

I am writing this on Christmas Eve so... In case I don't get my Christmas post up before the end of the day...

Merry Christmas!!!

I just ran out of time to write because my kiddoes and I have plans to hang out today and I blinked and it's time to get ready...!

Oh, these are some photos I took of her right after I put on the wig. It was a sunny day and I thought she looked so pretty in the sun...

Till Next Time!
