New Custom Linda Mason Bumbleberry Doll Hybrid At The Doll House!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

I've made another custom hybrid doll... I couldn't help it, all the details of this doll just fell into place.

Here she is after I was all done. Isn't she beautiful?

Here is the original doll I took the head from.

She was really dirty and had been 'loved' and played with a lot. Her wig was a total mess...

When I first found her I thought she was a porcelain doll and they have never been my thing. But I always check to be sure... And when I checked this little gal, I discovered she was vinyl. Not only that but she was marked on back of neck by a signiture reading: 'Linda Mason 2008'. What? Where did this doll come from...? So I plunked down the $2.00 and took her home to do more research.

Here is what her body looks like, constructed a lot like most porcelain dolls with an armature inside.

She'd been played with so much that her armature had shifted and you could feel it right against the cloth on her back. Kind of creepy feeling honestly...

She also had a rip on the 'elbow' of one arm.

I could tell that her hands and feet were also done by Linda Mason because they were adorable. They reminded me a lot of the hands and feet of my Starpath Doll. Starpath dolls were also sculpted by Linda Mason and so no surprise.

So it felt like kind of a shame to know I planned to give her a body transplant and would be loosing the cute hands and feet. But her body type was no good in clothes and also I think her original body looked too big for her head...?

When I researched I could not really find one thing about this doll....? I did find one photo of a 'new'  doll like her that made me realize she was wearing some parts of her 'meet' outfit when I found mine.

But like I say, I couldn't find any information on her really...?

The closest I came was these 'Fairy Tale Lessons' dolls but it says they are 23 inches, not 18 inches... So not the same. How curious!

Perhaps you, dear reader, are familiar with who she was and can let me know in comments.

The first thing I did when I got her home was to clean up her face and re-wig her. I had this little pixie cut wig on hand and when I put it on her I knew it was the one that would stay on. The dark brown hair really made her green eyes pop!

But where to get a body for transplant? Hmmmm....

And wouldn't you know it? Amazon practically read my mind and had a sale on Bumbleberry Cassidy for less than $12.00! They just kept marking them down!

I sometimes pop things I am thinking of getting in my 'cart' at Amazon and they kept giving me messages like this. I couldn't help myself. It did sort of sadden me to think of snatching the body of a brand new doll but.... What can you do?

So it took the customary two days for the doll to get here...

Here is the new one next to the one I got last week. I decided I'd compare and see which I thought had the better eye placement... I even asked my husbands opinion and we both agreed that the newer doll (on left) was the one with the most evenly placed eyes. So... the one from last week was the one I'd be taking the body from.

See how her right eye is placed a bit lower than the left? Tough break kid. Hahaha.

Pre surgery...

And afterwards...

I love love love how she came out. An original hybrid doll for less than $15. What's not to love about that?

I am still considering names... I'll come back and update when I decide.

Here she is next to Star. They certainly look like siblings or at least cousins!

Better run!

My Creatology Doll Collection... So Far..

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends,

So it's been a few weeks since I've worked on my 'My Collection So Far' videos. It is a fun project but it was eating up all of my hobby time and so I sequed to other things for a little while. I knew I'd get back to it eventually though... So, without further adieu, here is my collection of Creatology Dolls... So far... Upon pulling them out and photographing I started wondering why I don't have more of these cute dolls. They are really affordable at Michael's (with coupon you can usually get them for like $15) and I only have one custom from them... Hmmm... I'll have to sneak one or two back on my 'wish list' maybe. Heeheehee. On to the dolls!

Suddenly out of hobby time this morning so I have to go... Have a wonderful day!

Lotus 14inch Bumbleberry Dolls On Sale At Amazon!!

Doll Friends!

So last weekend I was shopping researching on Amazon and noticed that the Bumbleberry Dolls by Lotus were on sale...!? They still are and nearly all of them are less than $15 each. So, when I noticed the sale, I put one of my favorites (and the cheapest priced of them at the time) in my cart to 'think about it'. Later in the day I forgot about it as I got busy with other things...

Low and behold but what does my sweet husband walk in with after getting the mail on Thursday? The doll I put in the cart!! He was shopping on Amazon over weekend too and noticed the doll in the cart and decided to surprise me with it. I. Love. That. Man. He is so good to me. So, here she is!

She comes named Cassidy but that is not going to be her 'for keeps' name... I haven't decided what her name will be but I'll let you know when I decide. She's my third Bumbleberry Doll in the Doll House. I think they are so cute and well made for the regular price of $19.99 so when they put them on sale they are practically a steal!? When I put mine in the cart she was about $15.50 or so...

Now Cassidy is only $12.13 (what a strange price, right?) and I most of others are less than $15.00!! I will be hard pressed not to go Buy. All. The. Dolls. at that price. In as much as I know I don't need every single Bumbleberry Girl they make, at that price it's practically worth each additional doll just for the adorable outfit, backpack and shoes the dolls come with. Top notch all around!

So here are all three of my Bumbleberry Girls... Paige just came home recently and Juliessa was the first one I ever got. As you know if you read my blog with any frequency at all, 18inch Lotus Dolls are some of my very favorites so having 15inch Lotus dolls as little sisters for them. So fun! My 18inch older sisters in this photo are Radel, Debbie and Frann. So, Lotus Dolls are some of my favorite dolls... I just think they are sweet.

So if you've been considering bringing home a Bumbleberry Girl Doll to your Doll House now might be a good time to do it. I'd always love to see photos of your Dollies and so if you have them send them on! If you do please also let me know if I can post your photo to the blog and if you want 'public' recognition (Not everyone does so no worries either way).

Well I better run... Time sure does fly in the morning!

I want to take some more photos of this group of dolls so I can create a YouTube video of them! That's quickly becoming one of my favorite things to do with regards to dolls... To tell little 'stories' in progressive photography... I don't have the time or patience to make the actual 300/frame/min commitment to make those so instead I just make progressive photos...

So I'll come back with a linky if when I get that video made.

I love this photo of Debbie and Cassidy playing with the AG Doll brand dog I got at a thrift store for like 50cents a while ago... (Probably meant to post about him and then forgot... I do that sometimes... Teehee...)

Radel is reading a Mary Engelbreit book to Paige. We love Mary E in the Doll House! She's just got a whimsical flair to her art that makes me happy. In fact, I imagine about half of my decorating style in the Doll House are patterned after her style. Lots of rich patterns and testures and cozy 'plentifulness' of books and pillows and... Well, I could just live in a Mary Engelbreit picture and feel right at home, lets say that.

Better run! Till Next Time!

Drawing For Frozen Themed Doll Outfit For April!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

For this months Drawing I have a Frozen Olaf Themed Outfit! I got a great deal on some doll outfits on Etsy and new even as I ordered that one of them would be for a drawing! What fun is getting a good deal on doll stuff if I don't share with my sweet Doll Friends?

Here is Radel Doll holding the outfit that will be given away in the drawing. She and Prism are both wearing outfits of same style that were made by same seamstress as the Frozen outfit. That should give you an idea of how it will fit your dolly. Such a cute style!

It's a two piece outfit that includes a cute peasant type top with an elastic kneckline and an elastic waisted skirt both in the same Disney Frozen movie Olaf themed fabric.

I have them on a hanger that is actually from My Life As Doll clothes but it hangs the outfit so well that I am going to include the hanger when I ship it to the lucky winner of the drawing.

How do you enter drawing? Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy!! Just like last time, you just go and 'like' the PCR American Doll House Facebook Page and share the post there about the contest on your own Facebook page. That's it, super easy!

I will draw the name of the contest winner on Sunday April 22, 2018 at  6:00PM CST.

*Contest only open to people in the United States or APO addresses due to postage costs!!* (Sorry international readers, I only have so much money to devote to my little blog here)

So good luck Doll Friends!!

Holler with any questions! Have a fantastic week!

A Girl For All Time Nisha Arrives At The Doll House!

Happy Sunday Doll Friends!

Look who arrived late this week....!

Nisha is here! She's is a "Girl For All Time Doll" and she is absolutely stunning! In fact, she's so beautiful and being as she was the first one I ever had, I didn't really pause too long while she was still in the box to take photos. I'll have to take a photo of the box later to show you what I looks like because I literally must've spaced off taking even one of her in the whole box... Ooops.

She was secured in with a few of these 'paper' strings... One at her forehead, two at her hands, one at her waist and one at her feet.

Didn't take much at all to get her out of the box.

Here is the back of the box ties so you can see which manner I am speaking of.

See, there's one around her right wrist.

And "She's outta the box!" Mommy & Gracie always say that and so now whenever I get a doll out of the box I hear Mommy saying it in my head. I love that show. So fun!

These photos aren't the greatest. I took them in the wee small hours of the morning. I can never get proper photography light at that time of the day because I don't want to wake the family. Still, you can see how beautiful she is!!

Her hair came in a hair net to keep it from being wild... I do like how I caputured her little profile in this photo. I'm going to have to play around with shadows in my doll photography in the future I think cos how neat!

I was/am a bit chagrined about one detail of little Miss Nisha. She had this small section of maybe 10 hairs that look like they've been cut too short to be bangs...? Kind of like when at little girl decides to trim her own bangs and holds the scissors right next to her head (and don't like 25% of all girls do that once in their life?) Can you see them in the photo. Not totally noticable unless you're looking for them... But on a $89.99 doll I don't think flaws are as easy to look over. What would ya'll do? I really don't want to bother with shipping her back but also am not happy she has a flaw. Or maybe that's how she's meant to be. I am a member of an "A Girl For All Time" group on Facebook and I plan to post a photo of same on there later today and see if all Nisha dolls come that way? My inclination, as always, when I get a doll with a 'defect' is to just keep her because people aren't perfect either. But I sure wouldn't mind a partial refund if that is not the way she's meant to be...? What are your thoughts? What would you do? I bought her from Amazon and not the AGFAT website... Hmmm...

In any case, other than her little hair flaw, she's so pretty!!

The nice thing about AGFAT dolls is that they are more poseable than other dolls in this size range for the most part. She can bend at both of her elbows and at her knees. So she can make neat poses like how she is doing little pirouette arms here. I think I am going to have a lot of fun with her as a model for doll photography! Her elbow joints are pretty easy to bend but her knee joints? They are pretty stiff and so much so that I am too timid to try and bend them fully. So again, I plan to ask the 'experts' at the AGFAT group on Facebook to see if that is normal...?

AGFAT dolls, at 16inches, are in the middle of the size range I generally collect. My tallest dolls are my Maru & Friends dolls and my one Karito Kids doll that you can see in this post. Then my shortest dolls, besides the babies, are the 14 inch variety like my Hearts For Hearts, Wellie Wishers, Glitter Girls or Bumbleberry dolls (among others... Teehee) My Famosa Nancy dolls are also 16inches tall and my Battat Little Friends are 15inches... So Nisha will fit right in! She'll probably be able to share clothes with a few of them.

I need to take better photos of her, probably even some 'nudes' so I can show you how her body is constructed. She's all vinyl and even has a belly button (great touch AGFAT!) so I'll have to come back and do that soon. I have realized recently, since doing the updates to my My Collection So Far posts that I have a few dolls I need to get a more proper 'review' posted... So many doll projects I want to do and so little time! Ah well, sign of a good hobby, that. Right?

Better run! I'll have to come back later to do a side by side photo so I can show you what I mean but I plan to re-name little Miss Nisha. She will be called Mia Sara after one of my favorite actresses when I was a teenager, Ferris Bueller's Day Off being the best one. Have you seen that movie? Such a good one. I've become one of those old fuddy duddys that think that there really isn't any good movies made anymore.... But when you compare the 'formula' movies they produce like cookie cutter cookies nowadays to some of the great movies 20-40 years ago, well.... It's not my fault I have taste. Hahaha. **Disclaimer: There are good some movies nowadays, just less and less often. Teehee.

Gotta run if I am gonna make it to church on time. Can you believe it snowed all night? Did it where you are?
