Doll Sized Sightings! Barnes & Noble Erasers & Pokemon 'Legos'! Glitter Girls Sweet Shoppe! New My Life As Doll Sets!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

Just a few things I've spotted while out and about in the real world and online. First we have these cute little eraser foods I saw at Barnes and Noble. I love love love the little sushi set! So cute!

But I have plenty of doll sized food already and they were $6.95 a set so... I left them there.

Also at Barnes & Noble I saw these little  doll sized 'Lego' type sets! They'd be fun for the boy dolls! Or the girls for that matter now that I say that...

Next, online, I saw these photos of what I imagine is an upcoming item from Glitter Girls!

It's a Sweet's Shoppe! It reminds me a bit of the JoJo Siwa Candy Shop set that I never really was interested in buying because I have already had a Sweet Shoppe in the Doll House... I wish they'd have let you just buy the 'background' from that set because I'd have totally bought that but I digress... The Glitter Girl version is seemingly not for sale on Amazon yet but they do have a Donut Delivery Scooter and a little Scoop Of Yummy Treats outfit and it's on sale right now at nearly half regular price! I might just have to buy that because it's a pretty cute outfit and it also comes with all the little candies!

When I just went to look for the link on Amazon to buy the Sweet Shop I noticed the Photo Booth! I wish they'd sell the accessories to that one too! There is also a listing for a Flower Carriage that I just noticed this moment too!
Oh. So. Many. Cute. Doll. Items!

Then... I saw this somewhere on the InterWebs.... My Life As Doll is apparently starting to put out their new accessories sets for 2019 and I saw this game set...

There is also this 'Emergency Pet Rescue' My Life As Doll and below is the accessories set that will come separately as far as I know...

Do you think you'll get any of the new items? I don't think I'll likely get any of the large accessories sets myself but they sure are cute. I think I am going to go about fashioning my own version of a photo booth... I'd want it to be large enough to accomidate the 18inch dolls too and I don't think the Glitter Girl one will work for them. Rambling...

Better run!

Recent Customized My Life As Doll; Meet Miss Evelyn!!

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends!!

As you may recall I recently went a bit bonkers buying wigs wigs wigs when I found what I think are authentic American Girl Doll wigs on eBay. One of those wigs was labeled "American Girl Dark Brown Natural Wig"... And it was the sweet curly wig you see here on a My Life As Doll doll I have decided to name Evelyn. I didn't really buy the wig with any particular doll in mind, I just thought it was a cute fun style and knew the right doll would come along. I can't really recall the origins of this MLA Doll? Isn't that pathetic?! I used to be so on top of all the details? But in any case upon slipping this wig on this doll I knew it'd be the one that will get glued on.

What do you think? Isn't she adorable? She makes me think of that nursery rhyme:

There was a little girl with a little curl
right in the middle of her forhead
and when she was good she was very very good
and when she was bad she was horrid!

At least I think that's how it goes...
*googles*

Well, I was spot on but little did I know it is actually a poem. The part I knew was just the first stanza! The poem, written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, is a bit dark:

THERE was a little girl,
And she had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good
She was very, very good,        5
And when she was bad she was horrid.

One day she went upstairs,
When her parents, unawares,
In the kitchen were occupied with meals,
And she stood upon her head        10
In her little trundle-bed,
And then began hooraying with her heels.

Her mother heard the noise,
And she thought it was the boys
A-playing at a combat in the attic;        15
But when she climbed the stair,
And found Jemima there,
She took and she did spank her most emphatic.

Hmmm... Who knew?

I think she's fabulous! Customizing dolls, even with just a change of the wig, is so much fun!

Gotta run!

Hematite New Hairstyle and a New Name At Vonda's Beauty Salon!

Hi Doll Friends!!

I've had a customized doll whom I named Hematite to be a cousin to Prism and Pastel... Well, I was never really happy with two things about her. The first thing was her wig... It was exceptionally long, so much so that the doll could barely stand up without falling over from her hair! It was gorgeous colors but just too long. I know "So cut it Heather! Duh!" but I was always too afraid I'd totally mess it up.

So, a couple of months ago I put her in a box in the basement of dolls I am trying to decide if I want to keep or not. (I know, so mean! Hahaha) My thinking is that if they stay in the box for a few months and I really don't miss them then it's probably time for them to find a home with some person who'd enjoy them more. You know what I mean? Currently my Famosa Nancy's are all in the box, for instance, because while I think they are beautiful, they are a bit more like 'teenager' dolls in body type but shorter than my 18inch dolls who are supposed to be younger girls. I am thinking they will be re-homed soon enough because they've been down there months! I digress...

The second thing I didn't like about her was her name... I was trying to come up with a sort of synonym name for 'rainbow or color related' like I had with Prism and then Pastel. Hematite is a rock that, when you look at it in the light, has rainbow hues. So I kind of liked it and went with it but... Blah...

So, I recently opened the box looking for another doll outfit (I keep them all clothed, I'm not a total barbarian) and low and behold there was Hematite, as was... I thought to myself "Well, it's time to decide what to do with this doll..."

I have, for quite some time wanted to do a little 'movie' or 'sequence-photo-video' or whatever you'd call my little creations on YouTube of a hair salon so I could showcase my little My Life As Doll backdrop for it and use my little salon chair etc. I'd decided that Vonda, my MeiMei Doll from Amazon would be the owner of the shop. My real friend Vonda was a hairstylist when she was  younger. She went on to be an administrator of all manner of different offices, one of which I met her in when I worked there. So I decided it'd be fun to have her be 'early 20's Vonda' and be a stylist in my doll salon. Hahaha. I am such a dork. But that's why Vonda got the shop! She may be a co-owner/operator with Susannah Doll... We shall see... I bought a second Salon Chair a while ago in thoughts of making that happen. LOL So many blog posts in my mind, so little time!

So anyway... As I pull Hematite-as-was out of the box I think "Well, why not have her be part of the little show? I could have Vonda Doll cut her hair! What do I have to lose? I don't like her hair the way it is and worse to worse, I mess it up and... teehee... donate her in hopes someone else who actually cuts hair knows how to fix it."

So... That is what I did.

I've had my hair cut many many times, obviously, so I kind of know the 'mechanics' of how they go about cutting the hair and I tried to duplicate it the best I could.

Even with the little clips! Hahaha!

Here is the first few cuts!

I just tried to keep it somewhat strait across the bottom...

And it was pretty funny cos, here I was, at this point, thinking "Hmmm... It actually could be a lot worse!!" as she was sitting in the chair.

Yeah... It looked pretty good!

Until I turned her around after taking her out of the chair! Hahaha! You'll see that in a few photos...

But I was able to finish my scene by not showing the back of her hair really...
*giggles*
The show must go on!

She does look rather smart, I thought. From the front...

So if you want to see the little movie you can find it here:

But... the back... Um.... Well... I guess she wasn't sitting all that strait in the chair!
Bwahahahaha. What to do at this point but laugh. However, in the error I kind of saw a rather neat looking bob-look if I could pull off cutting the right hair off from the mess that it was? So...

Here is the end result... Not too horrid... In fact, I rather like it. I don't think I could've pulled the layered bobbed look off if I'd have gone about it intentionally if you paid me cash money but... It was an ok working accident, eh? Be kind! I am not a hair stylist by any means and this is really my first haircut that I can recall... Haha!

So, I plan to keep her because I think she's lovely now! And I asked my husband if he could think of a rainbow-color related name and he came up with a perfect one, I think...

Meet Iridescent!

Citi Pal's Dolls Just Kept Dropping Price! Introducing Selma And Salome!

Doll Friends,

What's a girl to do? I go to Sam's Club to return a shirt my daughter didn't care for and naturally I just check by the last aisle they have of the toys (Sam's only carries toys around Christmas I think...). You know, to see what's left., for research and all... Low and behold there are Citi Pal's left and they are only $4.71 each!! What?! The problem was that I'd already bought one of the two little girls they had left, from Chicago, when they moved them to $9.71 (I can't recall her factory given name just now, I am not keeping it and so I didn't really have it stick in my brain. LOL)

So... I bought one with the idea of changing her hair so she'd have a whole new look but I'd also have twins. Twins often wear their hair differently because it's pretty much the only alteration they can make to their appearance that will set them apart from their twin. So... Perfect!

I asked my Facebook (or maybe it was Instagram) connections for name ideas and my lovely friend Karrie suggested Selma and Simone. Which I loved! However, I already have a Simone, named after Nina Simone, one of the best singers of all time... Since I have my other Sekiguchi Salome doll in storage (I know... I know... So sad to keep dolls in boxes but... I never used them in scenes but couldnt make myself part with them because they were are so cute!) I have decided to name them Selma and Salome! I think Selma will be the one with the rainbow wig because it's the bit more 'sassy' of the two names, I think. Salome's name comes from the Bible.  She's one of the women who traveled with Jesus (after He healed her) when He was going from town to town telling about the Kingdom of God. So, naturally I think it's a swell name.

Aren't they fabulous!? I sure think so...
I know I know...
I love all the dolls...!
But I do though!
Hahaha.

Well, believe it or not, school break is over and I have to go herd the cats wake up the teenagers for school... Pray for me. *giggles* But seriously, pray.

Have a great week Doll Friends!

PS You know as I was writing out this blog I needed to do a search of my blog to find the appropriate links and as I was typing in 'Citi' so all the Citi Pal postings would come up I was all annoyed "Why do people have to go and change the appropriate spelling of words?" Until, duh! I realized they likely called them Citi Pals because they are made by Cititoy! Clever!
Ok, going...!

Citi Pals Dolls Marked Down To Under $10 Last Week...!

Doll Friends!

It's not my fault!!
When dolls are marked down lower than it costs to buy the outfits they are in...
I can't help myself. I got these last week when I went to Sam's Club... One of the days? I don't remember which. I almost hate to show you this because I am 99.9% certain they've sold out by now.

I'm gonna have to be able to explain to you why I have nearly every single one of the City Pal's Dolls though! Hahaha!

So here are my most recent three... The left one I paid $14.81 for the other day Then when I went back, they'd dropped to $9.71. I couldn't help myself but to buy the next two I really wanted.

They are so cute! I couldn't get the one on the left to stand up in the boots she came in no matter how hard I tried. So, she's barefoot. I don't have names for them yet... I'm sure I'll think of something. I've begun a little 'list' of possible name possibilities with names of people I admire or know and love, or both. I figure it's only a matter of time before the right doll strolls into the Doll House needing a name. Eh?

Outtake photo! LOL

Have a great weekend!
