Thanksgiving At The Doll House!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

Happy Black Friday!! I hope this finds you having a lovely day... If shopping today is your thing, I hope you found all the deals you were looking for! If staying away from stores and relaxing is your thing, I hope you have had a great day doing that! I have to work today and so I am rushing here to show you the photos of the Doll House on Thanksgiving yesterday!

Here are Josh and Heather posing by the beautiful Thanksgiving Dinner they had prepared... Yes, Josh likes to cook! Thank goodness because Heather cooks more because she has to than because she likes to. (She likes to play with dolls and write blogs too! She's a mini-me afterall! Right?) Heather always cleans up the kitchen when Josh cooks though so it's great team-work.

The candles make it look so festive!!

We didn't have a huge guest list this year... We wanted Frann and Saila to enjoy their first Thanksgiving as a small, relaxed family affair. Frann is from Korea and Saila is from Canada and so they were both excited to try out all the yummy food.

Josh gave a toast "To Thanksgiving and having lovely friends at our table to share it with!". Then he said a prayer and thanked God for the meal, our family and friends, our wonderful country and all the many blessings we have been given. I obviously didn't photograph the prayer as I was bowing my head as he said it...

The meal was wonderful! I only got shots of just it was getting started before Josh carved the turkey because I had to tuck in and enjoy a little plate myself! (Kidding!)

Here are Lilly and Saila during the toast.

"Cheers!"

Josh and Heather were so happy that the Thanksgiving dinner seemed to be a success!

You may notice that there is not a pumpkin pie on the table... Per the kids' request, we had alternate desserts this year because Vito really doesn't like Pumpkin pie so we made a pretty chocolate cake for him to be happy and since we were going a bit different, Lilly decided a Cherry Tart was what she'd like... I think next year we'll get some pumpkin pie as well even if we do go with alternates because Josh and Heather missed it. Not to mention they were so embarrased not to have any for Frann and Saila to try! They promised to have some at Christmas and to have them try it then!

Lilly was very proud of the asparagus bundles... She'd done them herself. They were delicious!

Here are Saila, Heather and Frann in their pretty Thanksgiving outfits before everyone sat down to dinner...

Notice the kids while they were posing for the photo... This is how they looked much of the day... Teenagers! (Haha! Kidding... I know all the dolls are supposed to be 'child aged' but these two dolls are doppleganger dolls for my own two kids who are teens...LOL)

But this is how my real kids looked most of the day when we weren't eating... Can't really complain too much I suppose as I sit on a laptop typing this blog. I suppose it's just the world we live in. Right? I digress....

I really hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to a relaxing 'first weekend of the Christmas season'!! I am so thankful to have you as readers and to have the fun and exciting blessing of being able to write this blog. So... Thank you, dear doll friend reader, for you! May God Bless you richly all the coming year!!

Much Love!

Weekend Doll Camping Trip!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

So in my last post about my OG Camper find at Goodwill I mentioned I'd taken some dolls out for a camping trip outside but that my photo's had apparently not uploaded via the app. So I am back to show you the photos! I figured I'd just make a whole new post so I can also say Happy Friday!

Who went on the camping trip you ask? Frann and Frank, Heather and Josh and Lilly tagged along too!

See? There's Lilly hanging out in the camper.

Here Josh and Frank are looking under the hood of the new car! Is that something all guys do when they look at new cars? I think it must be.

Frank decided to take Frann for a ride on since it was such a beautiful day!

Heather Josh and Lilly would stay at the camp ground and get the fire going for BBQ.

"Bye ya'll!!"

"Have a fantastic drive!!"

And off they go...

This is the first 'trip' the car has ever been on! How exciting!

They drove and drove and drove....

After they saw many sights, they decided to head back to the camp...

"Hi ya'll! Did you have a nice drive?"

Lilly had made some muffins while they were gone...

As you can see, puppy Zoey had woken up from her nap and joined everyone outside too! Josh asked Frank how the car handled on the drive?

Frank told him it was awesome...!

Frann said she'd get out and let Josh and Frank go on a short drive while she hung out with the girls...

They decided to open the rumble seat and take Zoey along for the ride. She loves riding in the car!

And away they went...

Soon enough they were back and Josh cooked some shimp kababs! Lilly doesn't like shrimp and had plans to meet a friend for dinner and so was reading in the tent with Zoey to keep her company.

The kababs took very little time to cook and soon enough...

They were enjoying them.

Lilly suddenly realized how late it had gotten and jumped on the scooter to rush off and meet her friend!

Much later in the evening, everyone was famished from taking a long hike and so they decided to make burgers as a midnite snack! Isn't camping fun that way? Lilly went to bed early because camping wore her out!

Josh and Frank manned the grill while Frann and Heather got the sides and condiments ready...

What fun camping is, huh?

The burgers are almost ready! Look at those grill marks!

They got them all plated up and put the coffee pot on to warm up...

They were all amazed that Lilly could sleep through all their chatter! Even though they were trying to be quiet.... The fresh air must've just knocked her out.

"Do you both want ketchup and mustard on your burgers?"

They sat down to eat and talked late into the night around the little fire... What a great camping trip! Have you been on any this summer?

Better run!
HAPPY FRIDAY!

My Life As Doll Soccer Ensemble From Walmart!

Hi Doll Friends!!

As you may be aware, I have become rather fond of the My Life As Dolls line of dolls and doll accessories that is manufactured for the Walmart stores.

A while ago I bought one of their fashion ensembles for my Josh Doll. The real Josh played soccer a lot in his childhood so it was almost a 'have to' purchase, right? Hahaha.

At $9.99, the outfits really are a pretty good deal considering most ensembles from American Girl are priced at around $35... Obviously the quality isn't nearly as good but they really do pretty well considering the price point.

Here is Josh in the outfit. It didn't come with shoes so he is wearing the shoes that I got in the My Life As Doll A Day In The Life Set for boys. I actually ended up with two of those sets as I recall because I found another one on sale and I have a lot of boy dolls who need clothes. Haha.

So here is Josh Doll kicking around the cute ball that comes with the set.

As you can see, the shirt has a velcro closure in the back. The shorts have an elastic waist. The little shin guards are adorable and have stretchy elastic to hold them on.

I actually put this outfit on Josh doll more than a week ago and then didn't have the time to take the photos right away. So he sat in the black socks that come with the outfit for a while. Well, sadly, the socks stained his legs a bit. Not horrible and they might come clean but it kind of bummed me out. So the socks when right into the bin because they won't be going on any of my other dolls or Josh again. So... Forwarning! The socks might stain your dollies legs. I have read there are measures you can take to keep this from happening (like laundering the item) but I am more of a 'better safe than sorry' sort of gal on that score and so I just threw them away.

All in all though, other than the socks, it is a cute set. So keep an eye out for it at your local Walmart store!!

Till Next Time!
