Journey Girls Special Edition Doll At Amazon And She's On Sale!

Greetings And Salutations Doll Friends!

So, recently I realized it'd been a while since I looked at the Journey Girls on Amazon. I am so glad that this line of dolls were continued by Amazon after Toys-R-Us closed down because they really are beautiful and well made dolls. Anyway, I hadn't really been paying attention to the doll line since I bought Ilee. So when I pulled up the search of Journey Girl on Amazon? Who did I see?

They don't really have a name for her... She's simply listed as a Special Edition Doll. I think she's got the same face sculpt as Callie and she is stunning! She is actually on sale right now for $44.27, her normal price is $49.99. I am telling myself "I don't need another doll! I don't need another doll!!" But she is very tempting.
She is similar to the Holiday Dolls from Journey Girls that they've released at Toys-R-Us in the past.
This is how they describe her at Amazon:

Our Journey Girls Special Edition Doll is stunning in a deep red satin gown featuring a modern hemline that shows off a gold brocade underskirt. She wears matching ankle strap sandals with knot closures and a soft blond fur stole. Her accessories include gold rhinestone jewelry, a hair accessory, and an elegant clutch with red tassel. Each Journey Girl has her own individual and unique style while sharing similar interests with her friends. Journey Girls all love to travel and explore, seeking out new friends and super exciting adventures. While each girl is different, one thing is for sure – Journey Girls are all about sharing. Whether it’s sharing something from their closet or something from their heart, Journey Girls are there to share adventures with their friends.

They have a Journey Girl Store, they even have a little video when you go there.

They still have the same basic line of Journey Girls that have been out quite some time.

Several of the Journey Girl items are on sale right now. The clothes set above is the same one I got on clearance at Shopko in 2019

I was interested to find that they also have a few other clothes sets for $14.99 each.

A lot of the playsets are on sale, they are all the same ones that used to be available for sale at Toys-R-Us so it was nice to see that they've brought them back.

I actually have the kitchen set and think it's pretty great.

So I'm glad that I went and checked so I can let ya'll know that they have a lot of it on sale right now... I just have to keep reminding myself that I don't need another Journey Girl Doll irregardless of how pretty she is.
Right? LOL

Have a great day Doll Friends!

NEW Lotus Kindred Heart 18 Inch Dolls From Amazon! Just Like Journey Girls!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

Lotus 18 inch dolls are one of my favorite doll lines (I know... I know... I love them all don't I? But they are all special in their own way, right?). I love both the Journey Girl/Espari type and the Newberry type because I think their face sculpts are so lovely. Recently, I decided to Google 'Lotus 18 inch dolls' you know, for research... Low and behold what popped up in my search engine but... Kindred Heart 18inch Lotus Dolls...? What? Who? Are these new???

So... Naturally.... I ordered one. Here is 'Paige' on the far left in the cute plaid jumper. Isn't she adorbs? I have my recently acquired Bumble Berry Girl Juliessa and Pamela my Lotus doll that most closely resembles 'Paige' who will be re-named Lisa... Long story but Pamela Doll is the reason searched for Lotus Dolls again and then ordered Paige/Lisa Doll in the first place... I'll have to tell you that story in another post because time is not being my friend this morning and has decided to go too quickly! Aren't they all three beautiful! See what I mean about their gorgeous face sculpts!? So, being Amazon, Lisa (Paige) arrived two days after I ordered her. Like magic! Especially when you live in a small town and going to the store can be a bit of a production.

Since they are apparently going to be sold on Amazon, they designed the box without a 'window'. I know that they'd likely never sell like this in a store front but I kind of like the box this way. I could use it to mail a doll if I needed to or to store one. So, that was a nice feature. I am kind of surprised they didn't print photos of the doll or doll line on the box but... Again, mail order customers being their target, I guess you've already bought the doll by the time you see the box so they don't need them. Interesting in any case!

This is the back of the box.

One side...

And the other...

The top of the box...

What you see right after you open box...

She wasn't secured in any way other than the little cardboard piece you see in top of box when I opened it. She wasn't fastened in at all. Which, given the slim box, didn't really seem unreasonable and talk about an easy un-boxing! She just slides out of the box in the plastic bag you see here.

Here's the back of her...

They might ought to have secured her hair in the back with an elastic so hair wouldn't get in her face like this... Poor dear. But small matter especially considering that 'hair whats-its' are such a pain to get out and often leave kinks in the hair.

I about laughed myself sick when she came out of the bag and had electric hair! I am not sure if you can see it but it looked like she'd stuck her finger in a power outlet or something. Hysterical because I knew the fix but it might be a bit disconcerting to a small child who pulled out their new dolly to find she has spazzy hair! Still, I'd almost rather have this than the hair kinking whats-its. What do you think?

I just took a 'spent' (meaning it's gone through the dryer once) dryer fabric softener sheet and ran it over her hair and brushed it and it was lovely.

Still, pretty funny.

I just took a quick peek at her body to quell my curiosity and she is designed exactly like Journey Girl and Espari Dolls. In fact, if I hadn't pulled her out of a Kindred Heart box and didn't know better, I'd tell you that's exactly what she was.

Her back 'mark'.

Her neck mark....

Her flat 'bum'. (LOL Journey Girls and Espari's always have very flat bottoms too)

Her tags...

Not one word to differentiate between her and a Journey Girl or an Espari really... I am going to have to pull out a couple of them from my collection and give a closer look to their tags. I can't recall if they are specifically marked as Journey Girls or Espari Dolls or not? Hmmmm...?

Here's me comparing the two I thought were most similar right after I got them out of the box. Going in I thought they were nearly identical but upon closer inspection, I think the Kindred Heart Paige/Lisa has a more 'mature' looking face and Pamela looks more like a girl, if that makes sense. Both gorgeous but certainly not identical. Right?

There seem to be five dolls in the line... All looking exactly like Journey Girls and Espari dolls...

They have a line of clothes and accessories too! All, it seems to me, to be about 25% cheaper than the Journey Girls and more than that for Espari Dolls. Interesting! I love a couple of the clothes sets!!

So... Let me know if you buy a Kindred Heart Doll and which you get and what you think of her!

Have to run!

Journey Girls and Espari Doll Collection So Far!

Hi there Doll Friends!

Another installment of my Doll Collection Series... This time with Journey Girls and Espari Dolls!

*May 31, 2016 I just realized I'd never posted this or finished it... It's a great photo of my Journey Girl Collection when I started this post... But I've gotten a few more since then. I'll have to come back and update!

*Update June 4, 2016*

I was just talking to the Journey Girls Facebook page admin. (Fan page) Mentioned my blog and she asked for addy and my first thought was "Oh! I forgot all about updating that post!!" So it lit a fire under me and off I went to the Doll Room to take a portrait of all my (current) Journey Girl and Espari Dolls. I group them together because they are so much alike! Do you agree?

The Espari dolls are the far left red head, the far right brunette and the third from right with red/white headband. Otherwise they are Journey Girls.

That's it for now Doll Friends!
Till next time!

Journey Girls Limited Edition Celebration Collection Gift Set!

Hi Doll Friends!!

Happy Tuesday! I hope this finds you having had a wonderful Christmas with your families!! I am glad to report I had a wonderful, low key and relaxed Christmas. We just celebrated with our family for the weekend except for having a life long friend come eat dinner with us on actual Christmas day. What fun things did you do?

When it came to gifts, I was so excited that my sweet husband listened to my hints and got me what I wanted!! I knew when I saw the Journey Girl Limited Edition Celebration Gift Set back when they released it I would want to ask for it for Christmas. The dolls they release in these sets are like 'custom' dolls in that they are not part of the regular line of Journey Girls dolls and so the only chance you have to get them is by getting the set.

If you saw my Merry Christmas post you will have already seen this photo (above) but I only had so much time for photos and so it's the only one I really got of them so far in the doll house... All the dolls in this photo are my more recent arrivals! I figured it would be a great idea to have a Christmas Party for them!

Here they are in thier box! They came with two additional 'fancy' dresses and shoe ensembles including hand bags or clutches.

Here they are released from their box! They are both so pretty! I found it interesting that this year they didn't name them. In last years two doll set (I haven't actually watched this review, so I hope it's ok... I just saw they were reviewing the doll set I wanted to reference... Short on time as ever...!) they named them. They have also always named their Limited Edition Christmas Dolls too. Perhaps they know many girls re-name them anyway and so why give them a name they won't keep? Who knows...

Here is what the back of their hair looked like when they came out of the box....

I think Journey Girls have the prettiest hair even when it's in a funny part like this.

Here is the brunette with some cute Gingerbread Houses I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby... I will be making a separate post about them but she was my model for that post since she looked so lovely in her pink and silver dress. I am not sure what I will name her yet... The blonde with brown eyes will be named Ava after one of my daughters best friends whom she favors.

Sorry for lack of photos! With all the Christmas Celebrations, I didn't have time to take more. I am hoping to get some taken today though after I get the girls changed into 'street' clothes...

Till next time!

Shopko Has Journey Girls!! And They Are On Sale!

Doll Friends!!!

Look what I found!! Shopko has Journey Girls!! They are even on sale!

"I will not order a new Journey Girl... I will not order a new Journey Girl...I will not order a new Journey Girl...I will not order a new Journey Girl...I will not order a new Journey Girl... I have enough Journey Girls!!"

I'll keep repeating that until the rest of the line comes out and maybe I'll cave and get something...
We shall see...
