New York Doll Company City Girls Jazz Gets New Look. Meet Delta Blue!

Hi Doll Friends,

I've long loved New York Doll Company's City Girls Dolls It makes me so sad they are no longer made. They were so well made and I love their original sculpt. *sigh* Jazz was the first one I brought home to the Doll House. Then game Harper, who I won in a contest, which, how cool is that? Then came Layla, who, at the time, I thought would probably be the last one to join my collection given that they were $79.99 at their regular price. New York Doll Company still sells 18-inch dolls but they've apparently teamed up with Lotus. Here is my favorite of those, named Catalina. They don't really appeal to me though because they don't differ much at all from other Lotus Dolls I have in my collection.

Well, before they stopped making them, I found them on a drastic sale. I may or may not have gone a little nuts and bought five of them. I have no regrets at all other than wishing I would've bought a few more at that price. I bought two Harpers, two Beth's and one Jazz. One of the Beth's and Harper's got a makeover quickly after. However, the 'second' Jass and the 'third' Harper were waiting patiently for a makeover. Well, recently I've been making more time for my doll hobby. So I pulled 'Second Jazz' and decided it was time. I put one of the American Girl Doll wigs I found on eBay several years ago and...
  I absolutely love her!!

I think she looks so lovely in her new wig! I've decided to name her Delta-Blue, after Delta Blues, one of the oldest types of blues music. I wanted to give her a 'music' related name because of Jazz's name. Delta Blue also works because of her beautiful blue eyes.

Isn't she lovely?

So now I only have one City Girl left to make over, one more Harper. I suspect that she might get a drastic makeover and become a brother to the others. Don't quote me though, I've been known to change my mind.

Better run!

Syracuse Meets Some Of The Doll Family!

Hi Doll Friends!

Syracuse recently arrived in the Doll House (Lotus-Onda Newyberry type doll) and so of course I had to take some photos of her meeting some of the Doll Family!!

Here is Syracuse is in the parlor...

She is joined by Kaleo Doll. By way, I looked and looked and looked for a post about when I converted Kaleo to a boy doll but couldn't find anything so... He is a Heidi Ott Faithful Friends Beth head and an Our Generation body. I love love love the face sculpt on Heidi Ott Faithful Friends but really dislike their body type because they can't stand on their own. So all of the Faithful Friends in my collection have been made over in to OG bodies. I digress... But I wanted to tell you who this doll was because I don't think you've seen him before? He's named after a group who's music I love... Kaleo is a band from Iceland and I discovered them right about the time I converted him and so it fit.

Of course Frann Doll was there for to meet her!

Then Heather Doll welcomed her.

Kaleo, Frann and Heather talked story a little while until...

Josh Doll arrived to say Hi.

The dolls in the Doll House didn't want to overwhelm her with too many hello's at once and so they just stopped there...

Syracuse thinks she is going to love the Doll House!

New Style Lotus Kindred Hearts Dolls On Amazon! Meet Syracuse!!

Doll Friends!
I am not sure why but Kindred Hearts Dolls are changing style! They are going from the Journey Girl body type to the Newberry body type... Amazon still has the older style listed right now but I am imagining they are going to be phasing them out. I imagine they maybe needed to change the style since the first style of Kindred Heart Dolls were nearly identical to Journey Girl Dolls and now Shopko is carrying them? In any case, I knew the minute I saw them that it would be my 'next' doll and when I got a bit of cash this past weekend, I plunked down my $29.99 and she was on her way to the Doll House. This little beauty is actually named Serena but in my Doll House she is going to be called Syracuse. My daughter said she thinks it's a wierd name but there is a reason I am naming her that and it makes perfect sense to me. You know what I mean?

Such a gorgeous doll!! I mean I always love the Lotus 'Newberry' type dolls but... They did a especially fabulous job with this one. Her hair is amazing!! Her meet outfit is adorable and with the little 'candy' print on the shirt, it can created several different looks with the one outfit. So much more to say but no time just now... Had to come share her with you though! I'll try and come back later to say more but on off chance (although very probable) chance that I don't and you're reading this months later and have questions, please do ask in comments. My life has become much more full of t's to cross and i's to dot and I am missing as many as I hit lately, or so it feels. Oy! So, really, do ask if I am lame and never get back to tell you about this fabulous doll!

Our Generation, Jillian's Closet and Bumbleberry Dolls & American Girl Pets At TJ Max!

Doll Friends!

I went into TJ Maxx yesterday for coffee syrup and look what I saw just as I was walking in!?!?
That's right! Our Generation and Lotus Jillian's Closet Dolls! The Jillian's Closet dolls were $19.99 and depending on if it was a deluxe doll or a regular doll, the Our Gens were $19.99-$27.99.

This is back of the Jillian's Closet dolls. It was so hard not to buy one...!

They also had dresses for $9.99!

And Our Gen Scooters...!

And Deluxe Bumbleberry Girls!! It was so hard not to buy one because oh my cute!

But I have a few Bumbleberry Girls already and there are only so many dolls one can have living in a Doll House afterall.

I love the unicorn theme of this one! So cute!

They had regular Bumbleberry Dolls too, in outfits unlike the ones I've seen before or purchased...

Love the unicorn top!

I saw two of the old style Glitter Girls as well..

I thought this was such a strange way to display the Our Gen dolls? Being me, I dug through every single one to see who they had.

I also saw this cute Winter Wander set! I don't know that I've ever seen one before?

This might be cute for dolls like Bumbleberry Girls?

I was really surprised to see a couple of American Girl Doll accessories... Literally only two but... Nice ones.

I was a tiny bit tempted by this American Girl Dog but... I have Meatloaf already and several other dogs in the Doll House and so I left it to be a score for some other doll loving person.

Here are some of the Our Gen dolls I saw. I didn't realize that there was a set of red-headed twins? How interesting!

I almost wanted to buy this little lady just for her awesome accessories!

And this little lady actually went in my cart!!
 I. Love. Her. Hair.
I'll probably regret not getting her...
I might even go back Sunday to see if she's still there...

**Update December 7, 2018: I decided to go looking for her name on Our Gen's website and sure enough I found her. Her name is Jesse. I am not sure if it's a good thing, me knowing that, or not. Heeheehee.
"NO! I will be good! I have enough of this sculpt!
I also have several silver/white haired dolls! But she's so pretty....!"**

And I am so embarrased to say I was so intrigued by her and taking photos of her cool hair that I totally forgot to take photos of her whole box so I have no idea what her name is!
*face palm*
I decided already that I'd never let myself buy another Our Gen with this classic face sculpt. I have enough in my collection already. That isn't saying that I wasn't tempted to break my rule!

I better run!
