Madame Alexander Tommy Hilfiger 14 Inch Doll Find!

Doll Friends!

Low and behold I have found a doll I didn't know existed before!! Have ya'll ever seen a 14inch jointed Madame Alexander Tommy Hilfiger Doll? I never had... So when I saw her laying on a shelf in the 'showcase' section of one of my favorite thrift stores, I had to have a closer look. (Purely research for you dear reader, it's a labor of love! Heeheehee)

Isn't her outfit adorable?!?! I have always liked Tommy Hilfiger clothing... Simple and classic. 

Here is the mark on the back of her head... I was so suprised when I discovered she was a Madame Alexander! Madame Alexander dolls are usually easy to spot because they all have a somewhat similar look to them,  I think... But this little gal's face sculpt was wholly unlike any other M.A. I'd ever seen before. She was marked $14.99 so I think even the thrift store was able to tell she was a rare doll...

At the same store I saw this American Girl Hopscotch Hill doll... 

I had them take her down so I could take a closer look as I'd never actually seen one in person before. She was, of course, well made and had a cute outfit... But I just never did like the face sculpts on these dolls or that they had 'painted' on eyes. Just don't appeal to me for some reason. Not to mention it'd be just one more wardrobe of clothes I'd have to start accumulating and between my 18inch doll clothes in both Journey Girl and American Girl Style bodies and my 14inch doll clothes... Um... NO. Not gonna open that can of worms! But it was neat to see her. 

Here they are next to each other. Of course I couldn't help myself and I bought the Madame Alexander doll... Teehee... $14.99 is a bit more than I normally pay in thrift stores but... My curiosity (on your behalf, of course, dear reader!) couldn't be helped! I'll be back soon to give you a look at her particulars...!! The following is other things I've seen lately when out thrifting that I thought you'd find interesting too.... Out of time! It'll have to be a 'photo speaks a thousand words' kind of thing!

Six Thrifted Dolls Ready For Makeovers In The Doll House!

Hi Doll Friends,

So... Yeah...

'My name is Heather and I am addicted to buying forlorn mistreated dolls from thrift stores."

So here are a few of the latest I've found recently... I am sure I'll be referencing back to this post when they get fixed up or made-over. 

I suspect this poor gal is going to be a body transplant doll. I don't know if you can tell but I think perhaps someone left her in the heat of the sun and then some pressure was applied or something. Because her face is kind of smashed in a little bit. I probably would've left her at ths store but I liked her dress and know I will eventually need a new body for some doll or other. 

I don't think you can tell every well in the photos but her race looks misshapen in person.

Then this doll, again, I bought because 1) she had cute clothes on and 2) she is a 'deluxe' OG doll, meaning her body can pose and I've gotten to where I really do prefer that body type. I am sure she will become a boy or get re-wigged because I already have a red-headed brown-eyed OG doll that I got at the flea market last year. 

This gal is also likely to get a wig change because I have this doll too. I tried to find the post where I got her originally but I couldn't seem to locate it. But trust me, I own her, her name is Breanna. Teehee... 

This poor gal is definately getting a new wig. It's on the way. I plan to sort of make her a sister to Prism Doll because she has very similar bright green eyes. Her dress is what I was really after, I washed it up and it's gorgeous!

Here is the cute outfit on one of the dolls... It is yet another thing I already have one of but it'll be fun to dress Heather and Frann doll as twins in them. I need to have another yoga class in the Doll House and it'd be fun to have them dress as twins for that. See the price? For $1.99 (minus my card holder discount so even cheaper) how can I NOT buy her? The outfit is worth at least that. So, it's like a free doll! Right?

When I got the red headed doll out of her clothes I came across this puzzle... Someone had wrapped her whole torso in tape? Maybe to make the tags lay down? Maybe because she had a little hole in her torso that they didn't want to get worse? Who knows? I took it off, naturally and gave her a few stitches to close her up. 

These two little ladies I found just this last week. The one on the left is also a 'deluxe' doll and she has a super cute outfit on that's in great shape. She was $3.99. The one on the left I bought despite what was likely a stain on her mouth and cheek. It looked like someone put lipstick on her and then smeared it off and then left it. She had on a cute dress and one shoe (wish she'd have had other one because it's a cute shoe!) and a very cute sundress on. Her hair actually looked to be in pretty great shape and so I think she'll probably keep it. 

I have just the wig for this Our Generation doll... I've been waiting for a doll to come along with the right color blue eyes and here she is. 

So watch upcoming posts for the developments of these thrifted girlies... I am sure they will all go on to be great dolls in the doll house!

Heart For Hearts Doll Thrift Store Find... A year later...

Greetings Doll Friends!

Just a quick post here... When I posted about my Heart For Hearts Doll Collection recently I searched high and low through my old postings to see if I could find the post about finding this beautiful doll but... Nothing?

So I dug into my phone and low and behold I still had the photos...! From clear back in like April of this year. I guess I meant to post about her after I got her cleaned up and then cleaned her up and went on to other things...

I was so stoked when I found her because she was nearly complete, down to her jewelry. That is a very rare thing. 

She is the doll called Dell and I actually already had another Dell when I found her but... How to resist? I named that one Katniss and this one was eventually named Maurine after an aunt whom she favors a lot. 

Look at that price! $3.99 for a nearly new Heart For Heart's Doll! And people wonder why I can't seem to drive by a thrift store... It's so hard when there is a possible doll treasure in each one! Eh?

Farley, My Vintage Life Of Faith 18inch Doll Thrift Shop Find

Greetings Doll Friends!!

Totally stoked!! I found this beautiful Life of Faith Doll at Goodwill for $5.99!! I've always wanted one but you can't touch them on eBay for les than $100! She is gorgeous!

She was in her original meet dress and its in great shape considering its age!

She is such a pretty doll! They were designed to be able to pray. I love love love her!

She came in her beautiful lace slip and bloomers. Her outfit alone would probably sell for more than I paid for her, on eBay. 

She was kind of a mess when I found her. Her face was pretty dirty and she had a lot of marks on her face, arms, legs and body.

A little dirt never scared me though and I love to bring a doll back from the Toybox Battleground into her former beauty.

Here is where her Goodwill sticker was. I pulled it off the moment I got in the car...

She has a very sturdy, well made vinyl body in great shape for a nearly 20 year old doll.

Here are her neck markings.

She is so interesting, she even has a detailed collarbone. Neat.

She has been well loved!

She did have one flaw on her eye, a little ding in the glass. Still, she is beautiful and I am so happy to have her!

All cleaned up. Her hair was a mess but I worked it out very slowly and methodically and since it is such nice quality hair, it came out pretty well.

So pretty!

I love that she can do worship!

And pray. So sweet.

I named her Farley.
