Doll Backgrounds From FunDeco For American Girl Dolls!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

I love Doll backdrops but never thought to look for them on Amazon until this past weekend and I found this fun 'four scenes in one' doll backdrop and had to check it out. It was $30, so that’s only $7.50 per scene. It would cost at least that to make a far inferior version of such a thing myself so, I thought it was a pretty good deal!

Here is Nanea in the tropical scene right after I got the background in the mail yesterday... I literally couldn't wait to take her photo in it when I got it out of the box. I knew it'd be fantastic for photos with her! And I was so right, eh? Isn't she adorable on the beach? She was pretty excited too, she likes Nebraska but misses her home in Hawaii. So this will be great for her too. (Teehee)

Here is Suzi with her pony in the horse stable scene. Doesn't it look so real?

The backdrop is made from a a heavy foam board that fits together in an X shape. Pretty nifty. Here are some photos of it I stole from Amazon to give you an idea of how it goes together until I get a chance to take better photos of it myself I didn't think to take a photo of the actual item yesterday, I was too busy having fun taking photos of the dolls in the scenes!

I think care would have be taken if you have smaller children when putting it together just so it doens't get bent or whatnot but once it's assembled, you have four wholly different 'venues' for your Dollies to play in. Nicely done FunDeco!!

Here is Pam Rosanna enjoying a walk in the winter wonderland!

Lastly here is Francis in the camping scene. My one tiny 'complaint' about this one is that it puts the Doll standing in the water? I plan to use my grass panels from eBay when I take photos with it in earnest though and think it’ll look ok especially with more dolls and props in scene.

So after I got them and came here to tell you all about them, I realize that Amazon is totally out of stock!! Bummer! I almost didn't come to tell you about them because how lame is it if you can't get one too! So I was brainstorming about how to help you find your own and decided to just Google the company name and low and behold, there they were and at the same price. I am not sure what shipping costs are but here is the link to them on FunDeco's website. As you'll see, they also make 'indoor scenes' and I might get that one at some point or other just because it'd be fun to have 'other rooms' backgrounds for the Doll House. We will see... They also make some pretty other products, like the castle... I suspect that would make a pretty cool doll prop if you had the space and wanted to make cool scenes of dolls in a castle. I might just have to do that sometime as well... Haha. We shall see. So if you need great doll backdrops, I highly recommend these. Taking outdoor doll photos is so much easier inside! Right?

Better run.
Happy Friday!

More FunDeco Doll Backgrounds From Amazon!!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Freinds!!

As you may remember if you read this blog regularly, I recently got some really amazing Doll Backgrounds from Amazon made by a company called FunDeco. I love them and have been chomping at the bit to use them some more in doll scenes going forward. My husband, clever and loving man that he is, noticed how well I liked them and that the company made another set of them. So... Low and behold what did I have show up on my doorstep not too long later... The second set!!

This set, instead of 'outdoor' scenes, mostly has 'indoor' scenes. Other than one of the four... One of them is this 'outside the house' scene which is likely one of my favorites. I've always wanted to have an 'outside door' for the Doll House and now I have one!!

Isn't it awesome? Here is my new MeiMei Doll modeling the scene. I used the grass panels I got off eBay to make the 'ground'. Doesn't it look so real?

Here are Nanea and my MeiMei (I don't know what I am going to call her yet... I've been calling her MeiMei and that might just stick?)

Here is second scene. I just set it on my regular carpet and it looks so real!

Here it is with furniture in it. I think the only 'drawback' of the scenes or 'rooms' is that they are a bit small when it comes to adding much furniture. Then again, not every doll collector has like three Doll Houses worth of funiture so.... By just adding the chair and table and lamp and plant though it looks so awesomely real. Doll photos are going to be so much fun! I also love that I'll be able to set up rooms that are different than the regular Doll House rooms because it'll be like have loads of different venues I can take the dolls to. How fun!!

Here is the next one... I love the red!! It's not something I'd likely choose if I could only choose one wall backdrop but since the set includes four it's awesome to have one 'bold' colored room. It will make a fun 'study' or 'library' in photos, right?

Here is same room with furniture. I used same furniture to make it a good comparison shot.

Here is the last room. I changed from the green chair to my pink couch because it matched the wallpaper better. I love the sweet light in this fireplace room. It is amazing how different they all look from one another isn't it!

You may have already noticed this background in my Happy New Year post! I got them just a day or two before then and so had to use them!

So I think these sets are going to be amazing. I actually wrote the owner of the company that makes them to tell them about my first review and that I loved their products. They said that if I have any ideas of other backdrops I'd like to see that I should let them know... I need to write them back! (Never enough time!) I'd love to see a forest without a tent and just a plain 'grass and blue sky' background and maybe a shopping center/store and school or classroom and a gymnasium and and and... There are so many ideas! Which did I forget or didn't think of would you like to see? Let me know in comments and I'll pass the information on! I am sure any that they do make will be a great success and that I'll likely buy them. Haha. They store so compactly and are pretty affordable so why not?! Great product FunDeco!! Well done!

Better run!

Fun Deco Doll House Backdrops; Shorter Than Before...?

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

Late last year and early this year, I got a couple of my favorite doll backdrops from Amazon that are made by FunDeco Company. I got both the outdoor and indoor versions and I love them both and have used them many many times over the last year... One thing I always thought would be fun and a good idea was to buy an additional set of both of them because I'd be able to make bigger rooms with them. One thing that always kept me from it was 1) I always came up with something more fun and exciting to spend my doll mad money on and 2) I thought it might look silly to have two of the framed artwork they have in the scenes or two fireplaces or what-have-you... But recently when I got a bit of money for my birthday, I decided it was the time to take the plunge and order a second set. I decided to go with the indoor set first because I do more indoor scenes than outdoor ones... I think? (I had to choose one or the other! I'm sure I'll get an addtional outdoor one at some point... Lets get real... Once I get an idea in my head it's hard to rout out. LOL)

So I ordered them and as is the magic of Amazon Prime, they were on my doorstep within days... How did we ever live before the internet? Eh?

So I excitedly opened them up and decided I'd use them to make a Christmas Decorating scene. I grabbed out my other set and.........

Was surprised to find that 1) the newer ones were shorter than the older ones by a couple inches at least and 2) my older set had darker 'wallpaper' and, I didn't notice before, a shadowy side of the wallpaper on the older set.
What?! Why!?

See the difference? I was pretty annoyed, I won't lie... But... I decided to just roll with it and pretend that the discolored wallpaper was the result of many years of fireplace soot. Or something...

Here is a whole 'large room' made with the two sets... I used the pink couch to cover up the mismatched chair rail at first but then moved the fireplace over to cover it instead. So I think I'll still be able to use the backdrops together but they won't match quite as well as I'd hoped. How strange. I imagine they cut the size to cut production costs...? I am sure glad, actually, that I ordered this second set because my other two blogs about the first two sets would now be misleading as I think I mentioned on thing I liked about them was how tall they were. *sigh*

So there is that... I better run!
