New In Box Madame Alexander Doll Find At A Local Flea Market!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

So recently I went to a local Flea Market with my sister... I saw all manner of neat doll items...

These pretty doll horses...

This cute little doll... She was actually 18 inches tall but she had a slim line body and I am making myself stay with the American Girl Doll sized doll and doll clothes right now. So I simply took her photo and moved on. Behind her was a cute 18-inch doll that I thought about for a moment but I left her there as well...

She was sitting on this really cute doll horse...

I saw a My Life As Doll doll...

But then... I happened upon this beauty. She was marked $24.99 and at first I left her where she sat because I didn't really have that in the budget right now. But... Then my sister looked her up on eBay and made me realize that I ever wanted to get her in the future I'd be paying three times as much...
So I threw caution to the four winds and put her in my cart.

I'm so glad I decided to buy her...!

Because she is so pretty! Her little outfit is adorable and so well made as well!

She has such a sweet little face...

And her hair is gorgeous!

So, she'll make a great addition to my little collection!

Better run!

Madame Alexander Pink Snowflake Kelly 20 Inch Doll Goodwill Find!

Hi Doll Friends!!

Sometimes a doll 'finds me' when I am not even looking for her. Case in point? This adorable 20inch Madame Alexander Pink Snowflake Kelly I found at Goodwill last week for $5.00. I didn't even know such a doll existed but once I saw her, I picked her up and just couldn't make myself put her back down.

This is her in a blue dress I bought for my daughter when she first got into 18inch dolls in 2013ish. I think it is such a cute dress and looks adorable on her. She is also sporting a new wig....

This is what she looked like at the store. Her outfit was complete but quite dirty... I suspect she was displayed by a collector but also played with a time or two. She was so adorable even looking a bit dirty and with a dried out tangly looking wig.

As I carried her around trying to talk myself out of buying her ("You have enough dolls Heather, you don't need any more...." etc) I saw other things that were cute, like this rocking chair... I didn't buy it though, are you proud of my restraint? It was only $3.99! So hard to leave stuff like that at store but I only have so much room in the Doll House...

I also saw and Our Generation doll that I didn't buy but while I wasn't sure if I was going to buy the Kelly doll, I was considering just taking photos for the blog and telling ya'll about her and not buying her... So I took this photo by the OG I saw so you'd have been able to see the size difference.

But I just couldn't get over her adorable face!! Madame Alexanders have a special place in my heart because Calla, my daughters very first 18inch doll, is a Madame Alexander. Then Heather Doll is also a Madame Alexander too... So, I obviously love the brand.

There were also these three baby Madame Alexander dolls in the same spot I found Kelly in. I only remembered to take a photo for ya'll at the last moment when I finally decided to buy Kelly and get going... They were cute but luckily for my house, I don't collect baby dolls too other than baby siblings for my 14-20inch dolls.

So I brought her home, cleaned her up, removed her dingy dry wig and... Tried on a few wigs...

Ultimately I decided on this one. I think it looks similar enough to her orignal style but also bright and shiny and pretty.

Isn't she pretty?! Had you ever heard of this kind of doll before? Let me know in comments!

Makin's Cutter Sets As Cookie Cutters For Doll House!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

The other day when Frann Doll and Mandy Doll went shopping after lunch together at Mangelsens they found the neatest thing! Going in, they assumed there were likely not going to be too many doll sized items at the store... They didn't mind, it's always fun to just browse and 'window shop'. So they almost couldn't believe it when they rounded the corner to find something perfect for them!

They found these great Makin's Cutters for only $1.99 a package!! They had just about every shape imaginable! How fun!! Frann Doll and Heather Doll decided to buy the bear set! They decided, too, that they'd certainly have to come back and buy a few more sets because they loved them so much! The star and hearts are likely the next they'd choose they decided.

See how many different kinds there were!? What a great selection!

Here are Frann, Becky and Heather with the cutters on the table... After dying the Easter Eggs and having coffee they decided they might as well pull out the new cutters and try them out!!

They are just so perfectly doll sized! Heather Doll really loved the smallest bear! How cute!!

So they plan to make some 'Three Little Bears" storybook cookies since they have the perfect cutters for them now!! How fun. So, if you want some cute cutters for your Doll House, you'll have to get some Makins Cutters too! I found them on eBay and they sell them elsewhere as well. I plan to pull out the clay at some point and make some 'dough' and 'cookies' from them! That will be fun.

Better run!
Hope this finds you having a fabulous day!

18inch Doll Clothes by Springfield: A Great Deal!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!

As many of you know, I love to make doll clothes... Or rather I love to upcycle them from other types of clothing. Some types of doll outfits are not ones that could be made in such a way. Case in point, a cheerleader costume or a leotard outfit. Pre-made doll clothes are hard to come by at a decent price though. Thumbing through the AG catalog that came in the mail recently makes me cringe! I don't pay $35 for my own outfits, much less for a doll. Even if I won the lottery and had endless funds, I can't see me paying that. So what is a fashion hungry doll loving girl supposed to do?

Well, Springfield Doll company, a line sold at Micheal's stores, makes cute doll clothes. They are pretty well made too! The average price of most of their ensembles are $7.99-$9.99. Still, for me, that is hard to pay. I get actual dolls for less than that all the time... However! Just about any day of the week you can come by a 40% off coupon for Micheal's and sometimes you can even come across a 50% off one! The 50% off coupons are where these outfits came from. At $3.99 each, they are priced right, even for me! I think the quality is pretty good. Maybe not AG quality but, not bad.

I bought this as a back up yoga outfit for my dolls... I want all of them to be able to practice yoga so this type of outfit are some of my most wanted ones! I think I am going to buy both their swim suits in the future for that very reason, to make "yoga clothes".

The tennis shoes that Heather is wearing are also from Springfield. They are normally $4.99 a pair and, you guessed it, I got them at half off. So cute!

Do you have any Springfield outfits? Which ones? What are your thoughts on doll clothes and their expense? Do you have cheap alternatives? Do share in comments!

That's it for now Doll Friends!
Till next time!

Madame Alexander 18inch Doll Heather

Hi Doll Friends!

I was out at a Thrift Store and these two followed me home. Really! Ok, maybe not. I actually *gasp!* nearly didn't buy this Madame Alexander doll... I was a bit worried she was too beat up from massive neglect. Still, she was only $4 because her tag color was half off and so I decided to bring her home and see what I could do.

Here she is with a Precious Moments doll I found at same store that day. I'll come back and tell you about her sometime soon to... But for now... Heather.

The photos don't really do justice to how dirty and beaten up she was.

Here was my main concern though. Her head seemed pretty wobbly on her neck! After researching it a bit to see how they are made, I am a bit less worried. They were designed to have poseable heads and if I set her head strait, she seems to be able to hold it up fine. It did give me pause at first though!

My other concern was her right leg. It was twisted in a strange way that made it turn outward funny. I decided I couldn't make it worse  and so I sort of just twisted and turned it until it was basically set to rights.

Her hair was very tangled up in this up-do! After inspecting it though and untangling it, I discovered it was still in really good shape! Not damaged, just tangled.

She came out so nice!! I can't believe I almost didn't buy her!

Here she is in an OG outfit that came on another doll I got recently. Can't wait to get moved so I can start making doll clothes again for her and all my other new dollies!

I decided to name her Heather because she is basically my dolly doppelganger... Literally... I have very pale blonde hair and blue eyes and pale skin.... So. She will be 'me' in the Doll House! ;)

Look at her gorgeous hair!! My hair used to be like that... As a 42 year old woman though, it's a tad less thick and gorgeous than it was when I was a girl. :)

I love her.

Here she is with Adrienne, a doll I found two days before I found her at same thrift store. Both dolls cost less than $10!

Till next time!
