Melissa & Doug 14 Inch Doll Compared To Wellie Wisher Doll!

Hi Doll Friends!

Nearly out of time to write this morning but wanted to show you the Melissa & Doug 14 inch Doll I got the other day compared to my Wellie Wisher doll.

Here they are side by side. The Melissa & Doug doll is marketed as a 14 inch doll but when you stand her next to the Wellie Wisher, she looks shorter? They are wearing each others respective 'Meet Outfits' and are able to swap clothes pretty easily... The Melissa & Doug dolls feet were too large for Wellie Wisher boots though.

I didn't want to leave the purple outfit on my Wellie Wisher too long because unfortunately it had left stains on a good portion of the Melissa & Doug dolls body. It looks like she has dreadful bruises all over her!! Poor dear! So I just left her in it long enough for photos and then changed her into something else.

I couldn't find the little pink crown that came on my Wellie and so I put the hat on the Melissa & Doug doll because her hair was kind of wild from having been in bands for so long... I will likely need to hot dip her if I want her hair to calm down! It's pretty hair, plugged and nice feeling.

After I got Suzi (what I named my Wellie) changed, they had some fruit smoothies in the kitchen with the My Life As Doll Smoothie Set

I think they will make great friends and sisters in the doll house! So if you're looking for a companion for your Wellie Wisher from another source, this doll would make a good choice!

Till Next Time!

Wellie Wisher Emerson Arrives At Doll House!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

I've recently been reading about a new line of dolls that Battat/Our Generation is coming out with called the Glitter Girls. They are likely an answer to the American Girl Doll Wellie Wishers becaues they are exactly the same size for the most part. What's a bit maddening is that even though I've seen them in that video now and on a few Doll Groups on Facebook, I can't find them in stores or online at Target. Why, oh why don't they just release all stores and online all at the same time? So annoying. So I mentioned it to my husband in passing and it's always delightful when he pays close attention and surprises me with a perfect something. Because who should he walk in the door with last Friday? Wellie Wisher Emerson! I guess when I was lamenting not being able to find the Glitter Girls I mentioned something like: "The Glitter Girls will be great because even though I have one Wellie Wisher I don't think I will likely ever splurge to get another one but it'd be fun to have same sized sisters to go with my first Wellie Wisher doll. So what does he do? He goes out and gets me a sibling... Another Wellie Wisher!!

And I love love love her!! She was the one of the two I wanted most... She'd likely have been my first pick if she'd have been in stock the day I went and got my first one. So, perfect!!

Here she is meeting my other Wellie and the girls who were modelign the JoJoSiwa Outfit Set. She was so excited to come out of her box and find so many instant friends!!

I still plan to buy one or two of the Glitter Girls when I eventually do find them I am delighted to have two Wellies, now, for them to be sisters to! My husband is so sweet to me!

Better run!
Happy Thursday!

Style Girl Compared To Wellie Wisher Doll!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

Last week I heard about Big Lots having Style Girl 18inch and 14inch dolls and so I went in to the store to check them out.  I even bought an outfit to try out... On that day they asked me if I wanted to sign up for their 'club card' thing so they could send me special offers and I signed up because why not have offers of good deals, eh? So, low and behold, they emailed me a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $15 or more. Well, guess how much the 14inch glitter girls cost? That's right, $15! So,
I bought a 14" Style Girl Sunday since the coupon made her only $10. Her outfit was worth that, that unicorn! So cute!

Am really impressed at quality for cost! They are nearly identical to Wellie Wishers other than hair quality. Figured I'd show y'all how she was compared to a Wellie Wisher Doll from American Girl

Here is the side of the box. Her name is Quinn although I am sure she won't keep that name...

There are three different 14inch Style Girls in the line, Quinn, Skylar and Piper. I won't lie, I mainly chose Quinn because her outfit was my favorite of the two they had at the store I went to...

Here are a few of my other 14inch (and 15inch) dolls standing with her so you can see how they all look side by side. From left to right there is Stephanie Doll (a 15inch vintage Battat Little Friend), Simone (a Heart for Hearts doll), Adilyn (Wellie Wisher) and Marley (A Melissa and Doug Doll)

Pretty simple box and only three ties to cut and she's out of the box!

Here she is!

And the back of her....

She is marked 'New Adventures' on the back of her neck.

I have to tell you I was kind of shocked at how similar they are!!

They have nearly identical feet both is size and shape...

See? You can barely tell, without knowing which was which, what doll's feet are the Wellies and which are the Style Girl's feet.

Their hand shape is exactly the same as best as I can tell.

I was also delighted at how 'heavy/ and 'sturdy' the Style Girl is... She's not exactly the same quality as the Wellie but honestly her arms, legs and hands are all a nice vinyl and her torso is made out of a sturdy, although harder, plastic. They really aren't all that much different when it comes to body shape.

They both have marks on their back about who they are.

The Style Girl has 'New Adventures' on her back.

And the Wellie has American Girl... (and a bunch of other writing... Kind of too much in my opinion but she's always wearing clothes so I guess it doesn't matter all that much... But way to write a novel on her back there AG?!

Here is Adilyn in the Style Girls outfit and the Style Girl wearing Wellie Wisher clothes. Perfect fits on both!

Here is the new Style Girl with some of her new sisters from the Doll House.

So, all in all, she's a pretty nifty little doll for a quarter of the cost of a Wellie Wisher. Obviously she can't be perfect... Her hair is rooted and like my 18 Inch Style Girl Isla, her hair is a bit on the thin and 'not too great' hair quality. I mean, it's workable but just not as thick and lovely as I like my Dolls Hair to be. So I am absolutely postive she is going to get new hair at some point in the future. I even already have a few wigs in her size on my watch list on eBay. I'm betting she'll end up with a rainbow type wig because I don't have any 14 inch dolls with 'fun' colored hair and now that I have several 18inch dolls with it, I need one, right!? She'll look adorable in a rainblow wig I think!

My recent obsession with 14inch dolls was sort of started by the recent release of Glitter Girls by Battat. I've stopped into Target at least 10 times in the last few weeks just checking to see if they'd made it to the shelves yet and no luck at all. I've also been searching online at Target and in Google... Well, I guess algorithms can sometimes be a good thing because this past weekend Amazon had a pop up and they are selling the Glitter Girls on Amazon!! So... I ordered two and an outfit and they actually arrived yesterday but it was church night and I didn't have much of a chance to look them over at all... So I'll be back soon to tell you all about them and show you which ones I got.

Better run!

My First Wellie Wisher and ToysRUs In Store Reporting!

Greetings and Salutations Doll Friends!!

So I've known that my local ToysRUs store was going to be one of the ones that sold American Girl dolls... I had stopped in a few months ago to look for something from the Journey Girls line and there was not one item left in the store from Journey Girls which, I learned at the time, was because they were going to be getting in American Girl doll products. I imagine it's a contract stipulation from American Girl Doll company. At the time they only had one little section of AG stuff and I assumed that it'd be the same as the Journey Girls and they'd have one half of an aisle devoted to them. Silly me. That was not the case at all and had I known, I'd have dropped in and done an "in-store report" long ago. Oh well, better late than never right?

I've never been to a 'stand alone' American Girl Doll store so I don't have that to compare it to but I was really impressed by the display they had for American Girl products. It was very prominently displayed in the front of the store and it pretty much ran for at least a third of the whole front of the store! It was amazing, really.

Because, much like I've seen in photos from the actual AG stores, they had these awesome clear boxes containing dolls modeling the items they had for sale in the boxes below the display... The little scenes they set up were so much fun to look at! Sadly I was short on time and so I am probably going to be looking closer at these photos later myself because I only had about ten minutes to run my errand! So I literally went around just snapping photos like paparazzi or something. Haha. It's a good thing I get less and less self conscious about such things! I have no 'doll photo taking shame' left... Only time I am hesitant is when I have my family with because, well, I don't want to embarrass them! Hahaha. My husband just thinks I am cute and actually encourages me but... Well... Lets just say my kids are not quite so on board with public displays of my doll hobby. Oh well, gotta pay them back for the toddler years of sometimes public tantrums somehow, right? Just kidding! Honestly they were pretty good on that score but all kids have their moments!

Anyway, so I took photos of each display to show you in case you are even further away from any manner of American Girl shops than I am, be it the ToysRUs version or the actual store.

As you can imagine, it was fun to think of buying "One (or two?!) of everything!!" It is all so cute!! However, American Girl stuff is on the more pricey end of the spectrum and I honestly can't see enough difference between their accessories and clothes from OG or JG to justify the difference in cost... But... Oh. My. Cute!!

I love the little flute! My husband played flute as a boy so it'd be fun to get a flute for my Josh doll. Heehee... Maybe sometime I'll go nuts and buy one?

The Wellie Wishers are so cute! They are actually the reason I stopped in... Teehee. I got a bit of a windfall of mad-money yesterday and it immediately started burning a hole in my pocket to go to TRU and buy my first Wellie Wisher!! I knew that a Wellie would be my next 'expensive doll' purchase. I have kind of a list of ones I'd like to get at least one of and they were on it naturally. I went in with my favorite two in mind and wasn't sure how I was going to choose between them because I loved them both. I wanted either Emerson or Ashlyn but I literally wasn't sure how I was going to choose because they were both lovely. Hmmm... I thought maybe I'd even have to toss a coin or something. However, the decision was made pretty easy by one fact. They didn't have one Emerson doll in the entire store other than in the display cases. So... Ashlyn came home with me!

The Wellie Wishers really are adorable. After seeing them in person, I am not pretty sure I wouldn't mind having one of each of them... Hahaha. Just kidding. Sort of... I mean, if I won like a billion dollars you can bet your bottom dollar I'd likely have one of everything. Eh? If you're going to dream, dream big I always say! Teehee.

I loved the little house for the Wellie Wishers... I've seen people make DIY versions and can see why they'd want to. So sweet.

Loved the violin and stand! I have a violin for my Lilly doll but it's actually a Christmas ornament I found once... So it didn't have a case or a stand. Still mine was like $1 at a Garage Sale and that's much more easy to swallow cost wise.

Such cute outfits!

And what a selection! I guess I got it in my mind they'd only be carrying the Wellie Wishers, not the full size dolls. I was delighted to be wrong. One thing that I've always found prohibative about buying anything from AG is that on top of the cost of the items they also charged shipping! So... To be able to walk into store and just pick out whatever you want with no shipping is fun!

I think their little fashion separates were sweet and actually not horribly priced. Maybe I'll even buy one or two sometime since no shipping...

I thought this display was so cool! Great doll posing!

I love that they have braces for doll teeth too! What don't they think of?!

There was just so much to look at! It was such a neat surprise!

I had to run though....

So it was good I could take photos so I can look at all of it closer later too. What did we do before digital cameras and the internet? Eh?

I was delighted to find that when you buy an American Girl Doll at ToysRUs you get a fancy American Girl Doll bag to take it home in! Classy!!

Here is Ashlyn in my bag in the car on way home... So excited!!

Here she is with her box opened...

Seeing all those cute accessories made me want to get some but... My mad-money budget only had about $35 left. How to get the best bang for my buck? I went to Target and got two Our Generation sets on sale for $15 each. They are so stinking cute!!

So it was such a fun shopping spree! So much fun to get mad money to spend on oneself. I am a blessed girl indeed!

Here she is on my shelf... I didn't have much time last night and so didn't get any more photos than this one taken. So I'll be back soon to give her a proper look at and show you how cute she is!

Out of time!
Till next time!
XOXO
