As I mentioned in a recent post Michael's craft store has new 18 inch dolls! I just had to pick one up since I was able to get her for under $15 when I used my 40% off coupon.
Here she is at the store... I had a really hard time choosing between which one I wanted! They are all really pretty cute! Don't laugh but I finally let the deciding factor be that Lauren comes with a red shirt and I can use that for my boy dolls! Haha! But who am I kidding I'll probably go back and get one or two or three of the other ones at some point or another! Because I love her!
Especially for the price point she is just fantastic! Here she is without the cellophane over her face.
She has sleep eyes and a body type like most 18 inch dolls on the market now. She has a soft body and vinyl arms and legs.
The box was pretty standard and she came out really easy. I just snapped a few clear rubber bands and she was out.
One of the first things I noticed is that she doesn't look anything at all like the Proto type picture they have on the back of the box. Which is fine because the actual dog looks a lot prettier than that photo. This isn't the first time I've had this happen where a doll doesn't look anything like her photo on the box. I suppose they must create the packaging at the same time that they create the dolls? I don't know but it seems strange to me.
I even asked my husband to be sure I wasn't imagining it and he's like "No, that's not the same doll" anyway just an interesting tidbit, not that it matters. Because the actual doll is gorgeous!
She had three bands holding her hair in the box.
She is wearing cute plastic shoes and a red shirt with leggings. No undies included but luckily I have some at the doll house I can give her.
Cute shoes!
Her feet are pretty standard, I need to see if she can swap shoes with an AG Doll...
I forgot to photo her hands when I was doing initial opening so here are her hands compared to an American girl doll.
Really is kind of mortified that I'm going to post this photo with her hand like this! Haha! Just don't mind the sticky tack on her hand it was holding on her violin bow!
Here she is with her hair down and brushed. Isn't she pretty?
Her hair seems very soft and pretty sick especially considering her price point! One problem I always had with the Springfield dolls at Michael's was their rather sad hair. This is a huge improvement!
And here she is with Lily to give you an idea what she's like next to the "standard" American Girl doll.
The photos aren't the greatest, sorry! I took them in a hurry this morning so perhaps I can get this posted! I promise I'll take better photos of her later too!
And here she is by herself.
Thanks for this review. I was wondering about these dolls. Can they share clothes with American Girl? They are so much nicer than the old Springfield dolls.
